It's…read morea rigorous program that pushes for social equity and preparedness as a professional public school teacher. The classes are not too bad; most of my classmates and professors are awesome. I can't wait to graduate (again) in December 2026! Fun fact: SJSU's Teacher Education department is the oldest public teacher preparatory program in California! To go back even farther, I got my Bachelor of Arts in journalism here. My academic journey was atypical: I first enrolled in August 2011 and officially graduated in August 2022. I'll spare y'all the details, but I'm proud of myself for coming back and finishing my degree. It just proves that anybody can get a college degree if you really put your mind to it. SJSU is a world-class university smack dab in the middle of the Bay Area. It's gotten better since I first enrolled and its location will only continue to make it an enticing option for college students. $4,700 a semester for full-time enrollment is honestly a steal. If you can focus on your goal of getting your degree and block out distractions, SJSU is awesome for what it is. There is free parking on the streets off campus if you know where to look. I don't recommend using the gym, library, or student union tbh. They're overcrowded and noisy. Just get food off-campus and study at home or a Santa Clara County or San Jose public library instead; they're quieter, and you have less of a chance of someone stealing your stuff. There are some occasional incidents with unhoused individuals having public mental health breakdowns, but it's nearly nonexistent compared to the 2010s.

We went to visit SJSU over the weekend for my student for 2026 admission. We Saw homeless people…read moreusing bathroom and library. Some adults, maybe homeless people are eating and watching something in the library. I don't see students in the library. It does not look like university library for students. It is disturbing and discouraging for my student to go to school there. Not sure it is a good school from parents eyes. They should do something.

Wouldn't recommend. If I could give ZERO stars I would…read more Mrs.Fleming is a horrible teacher that cares more for students appearance, than their education. I am Extremely disappointed in how student concerns are handled at Silicon Valley Career Technical Education. When issues involving an instructor were raised, administration minimized the situation and demanded excessive "proof" rather than taking the concerns seriously. This response shows a lack of accountability and poor leadership. A school should protect students, not dismiss them. Families should think carefully before enrolling.

I was unfortunate enough to be a student, in two programs no less. When I was in high school, they…read morewere offering "free career training" for students attending California high schools. My high school fell for that scam, I attended this "school" where the administrators didn't know the subjects their teachers were teaching (and that's according to both teachers that I had). Only to finish with the highest score on the final and be denied the certificate I was being promised the whole year, with no excuse given at the time other than the teacher claiming he couldn't figure out how to use the printer to give it to me. That was in 2012, I've contacted the school and teacher many times over the years, and they both have the exact same story: "We neither have the ability nor authority to grant you that certificate. It's the teacher (according to the school) it's the school (according to the teacher) who has that authority, please contact them with this request." I only stopped contacting them after learning (2nd hand from a former student) that their "certificates" are nothing more than pieces of paper lacking proper accreditation. In the end, I only missed out on after-school activities because of this scam, but I can't imagine how horrible it would be for an adult to be scammed out of their tuition fees for literally nothing.

I cannot say enough good things about CCS and all who work there. Our daughter, Kate, attended…read morefulltime daycare from the time she was 8 months old until recently we moved out of state. Bottom line: the teachers and administrators love the kids as if they were their own. As a first time mom, nothing is harder than dropping off your baby to return to work but CCS assured me I could call and check on her to help alleviate my anxiousness. Kate quickly settled into the routine and thrived in the environment. Infant care is very customized the specific needs of each child (feeding/diapering/sleep) and in the toddler room a bit more structure develops (though still very flexible). The teachers communicate via daily reports home, a private app, and phone calls/emails as needed. Throughout the covid shutdown, we have been so impressed with how the school navigated the ever-changing landscape. They sent frequent and thorough emails explaining how they were approaching the guidelines from the county/state/federal governments and outlined their decision making process, contingency plans, health and safety protocol, and timelines. When they were able to reopen daycare, we gladly sent our daughter back and were very impressed with the diligent steps they took to ensure a safe experience for all. Truly one of the worst parts about moving was having to leave CCS, we are so blessed to have had them care for our daughter and would unequivocally recommend them as the best possible daycare in the area.

The college process can be…read moreoverwhelming, and a lot of it comes down to picking the right list of schools to apply to early and during regular decision. Insight has a lot of experience on this front, and also a lot of "insight" into what colleges look for. In short, Purvi has been able to guide us through the nuances of the application process. Additionally, she gave us some great advice around summer programs - we would have never found the ones that she suggested. We also had a great tutor for ACT from Insight, who was able to give my daughter some great tips. She ultimately got into her top-choice school. We are very happy with Insight, and have recommended them to many friends!

Hi Ajit, Any chance I can get my $200 back for an initial consultation that was absolute nonsense?…read moreI have kindly asked for my money back multiple times. I want you to known that telling my kid who is STEM focused taking 10+ APs to consider taking a ceramics course doesn't cut it for a $200 initial consultation. JUST GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. Just letting you know that your responses on your reviews of people who complain about your service is underwhelming. Improve your service and you will do much better. Ajit, I will continue to complain about the service I received to every Indian parent that I know in the Bay Area. If you think otherwise, you don't know me well... Based on your "Stanford MBA" education, you may certainly know that word travels fast in the Bay Area. A simple suggestion to all who read this (including you Ajit) - Do NOT pay $200 for an initial consultation. Simply request a free initial consultation so that you are aware of the all of the program details, the costs, and the proficiency level of the counselor. If they can't give you a free consultation, move on and find another program. Believe me, there are plenty of programs that give you all the information that you need without paying fees to find out. They should be selling you on the program and not the other way around. 8/18/25 - Ajit, I read your response. Your answer is false. My wife, my son, and I all attended the meeting with your "counselor." It was you who was missing in that meeting. So don't make up stuff. The fact remains that I have not received my $200 back....
