This company came in with the lowest bid, and they were 4 awesome young men to work with! By the time they arrived until the time they left , they never quit working the entire time. They were quick, thorough, ground the stump completely down, and all had the tree hauled off, oh all in a matter of 5 hours. Oh it tree about 60ft tall and 2' at the base read more

Ortiz Tree Service - 60'footer struck by lightening - Tree Services Near Me - Taylors, South Carolina

DO NOT HIRE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PROPERTY. Worst company I've ever dealt with. Hired them to cut three trees, which they did - haphazardly. They damaged several other trees in the process. Due to the size of the trees I agreed to let them use a skid steer. I showed them the ways they could enter the property with minimal damage, the ignored everything and drove the skid steer through ~500 feet of my woods - cutting an unapproved and unwanted path through my property and taking out several young trees in the process. They then tore up a landscaped section of my back yard and left it in total disarray. They also drove a stump grinder through my neighbor's yard, leaving rut tracks. I have tried for over a month to get them to come out and fix the damage, they have not. I have asked for a partial refund so I could fix the landscaped portion, they have not refunded anything. They keep promising someone will call - no one has called. They clearly do not care. Do not hire this company. I fully regret that I did. read more

We would not recommend Ortiz Tree Service based on our experience. We received a quote for $2,200 that included a detailed checklist of the work they agreed to complete. After the job was finished, we realized they had dumped a large pile of mulch that we purchased in the wrong location. To their credit, they did return and move the mulch after we contacted them. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only issue. We later discovered that more than 10 items from the original checklist had never been completed. We reached out multiple times to resolve the situation, including sending a letter outlining the unfinished work, but we never received a response. We paid for services that were clearly agreed upon but not delivered. The lack of communication and failure to complete the contracted work has been extremely disappointing. Based on our experience, we feel misled and cannot recommend this company. We hope our review encourages others to ask for thorough documentation and carefully inspect the completed work before making final payment. read more

Company does not show up for scheduled appointments. Has no respect for the customers time. Does not communicate or reschedule. Will send you a text saying be there in 45 mins and not show up. Wont answer the phone. If you're looking for disappointment this is the place. read more

DO NOT USE Ortiz Tree Service. If we could give zero stars, we would. We're giving one star because the crew did cut down three trees and remove the debris back in June 2025. Unfortunately, the negatives far outweigh the positives. During the job, the crew broke our driveway lightpost, cracked two downspouts, and damaged one of our front porch columns. Accidents happen -- but what's completely unacceptable is how Ortiz Tree Service has handled it since. For the past three months, we've tried to contact them numerous times by phone and email. No one answers, no one calls back, and no one replies to messages. We've been more than patient, but at this point, the lack of accountability speaks volumes. If you value professionalism, communication, and respect for your property, choose another company. We sincerely hope Ortiz Tree Service learns to stand behind their work and take responsibility for the damage they cause. read more

Ortiz did a great job removing four large trees in our backyard. Efficient, friendly and good job cleaning up the yard afterwards.

They removed two big oaks and a magnolia from my yard. Did a good job getting the tree's down but left big ruts in the yard and pieces of limbs through out the yard. Asked them to come back and smooth it out and just keep getting a " we'll get back with you" and never do...so don't pay for the job if your not completely satisfied because they are not coming back read more

I requested a quote 2 times. Both times were no shows. They have 2 hour windows for appointments so literally 4 hrs wasted waiting for them. So unprofessional. I even let them know I don't live there and it takes me about 40 minutes to drive to the house. Definitely avoid even getting a quote from them let alone any work. read more

Ortiz Tree "Service" - DO NOT USE If you value your landscape plants and hardscape DO NOT USE these yahoos. If you want the job done fast with absolute disregard for all else, these are your guys. Shawn is a good guy working for the wrong company. He tried to make it right but too little too late. Decimated yard. read more

This company has a habit of putting a flyer in your mailbox as they drive through neighborhoods. A few years ago, they did this and I called them to get a quote. They never returned my call or messages. A friend of mine used them a while later and had success. Then my friend tried to use them again and they completely flaked and never got back to him. I did not know this had happened to him until we had a discussion about the following experience. I recently got another flyer in my mailbox. Looks like they updated it to look more professional then the one I received years earlier. I called to get a quote. They came right out. When they gave me the quote they said they could schedule me two weeks out. Great! I signed the approval for the job. I called 811. The yard was marked. They sent me a text letting me know I was scheduled. The day came when they said they would arrive at 11am. That time came and went. I called them during my lunch and the woman who answered the phone said they were having vehicle trouble and would be here as soon as they can. 4:55pm and still zero communication from them. I texted them asking about rescheduling. I heard nothing from them. I called them the next morning and could not get through. Like my number was blocked or something. It sounds like they use a virtual number for their business. I looked at the flyer and realized there was a second number to call which I did and left a message. Still no response from them. No apologies. Nothing. I ended up scheduling with another tree company as a result. Ortiz Tree Service has proven to me on a number of occasions that they just don't need the business or they don't care. I don't know which. They are completely careless with people's time and have zero professionalism where proactive communication is concerned. I do not recommend them at all. I gladly paid someone else more to do the job. Shawn did end up calling me. Not sure if he saw my comments online or not. But, he wanted to apologize for the experience I had but it's really too little too late at this point. It really should just be a learning lesson for the company and hopefully future customers have a better experience than I did. I just can't recommend them. read more

My recent experience with Ortiz Tree Service was very positive. The work was done in a timely and professional manner. I was amazed how quickly and efficiently four trees (one large pine and a huge three trunked poplar) were taken down in very tight spaces, very close to existing structures. I was impressed with the fact that when scheduled contact didn't work out, said work was moved forward instead of back. If more arborist work is needed, I will certainly contact Ortiz Tree Service for any further needs. read more

We couldn't be happier with Ortiz Tree Service! Their estimating process was fast, easy, and fair priced and they scheduled the needed services quickly. The seven-person crew worked together with great coordination and made their work look fun. Jose, the climber, was highly skilled and a joy to watch as he climbed and cut tall trees like he was a high wire artist! Finally, when they completed their work, they cleaned our yard beautifully and left no obvious signs they had been there....other than their excellent work. I highly recommend Ortiz Tree Service!! read more

They did stump grinding work in my neighbors yard and went on my property without permission and tore up my grass. The machine slung hundreds of 1 inch dirt balls on the siding of my house, my roof, sons car and my driveway. After complaining and not receiving a call back, I resorted to this negative review. I spent 3 hours pressure washing the side of my house and my driveway to clean up after these so called "professionals"! I am only giving 1 star because that is as low as it goes. read more

They cut down trees at our home and were suppose to clear the stumps and debris. That evening it started raining so they did not finish the job. We were under the impression they would clean up the mess they left the next day but they did not. We complained and they said they would be back to correct but keep giving us the run around for over two months now and still hasn't showed up. I do not recommend them for quality service. read more

My neighbor hired these yahoos to do some tree work in her yard. They kept dropping heavy pieces of tree in my yard and on my fence causing damage. No one should have to come home to see some fly-by-night company tearing their property up. As I was taking pictures of the damage they had already done, they cut the top out of another tree which swung down like a pendulum and smashed into the inside of my fence, bending the poles outwards. After I demanded their insurance information, they said that they'd replace the top rails of the fence. I told them to stay off my property. I had to call the Sheriff's Office before I could get the insurance information which they SHOULD have had with them at the job site. I also watched them dumping debris on a neighbor's wooded private property instead of carting it all off. Don't use them unless you plan on having your neighbors sue you for the damage that gets caused to their property. read more

I can't speak on the work that this company does because I never received an estimate. Ortiz landscaping came out to my property to give me an estimate on Friday 06/25/21. I was told that they would reach out to their boss and give me a call that evening or the next day. I have texted numerous times and no response. If they couldn't handle the job then I wish they would have just said so. read more
