Located in Fairfax, not too far from the INOVA hospital, OrthoVirginia provides orthopedic care to patients who suffer from a wide range of conditions involving the musculoskeleton system. Although closed on the Labor Day holiday, there was an on call line for semi urgent matters. I was able to get seen following the holiday and made it to the front of the queue to see a PA for a broken toe. It's healing slowly but surely, and the OrthoVA specialists said it'll be a 2-3 week recovery period, with a 3 month total heal time. There are lots of OrthoVA locations in the area as this is part of a big network. read more

I can't rate Dr. Grossman herself. This was my first visit to her, and she was rushed. She did listen to my symptoms and conduct an exam, and I was given treatment options. The office staff either can't get their act together or they were having a very bad day. To put it concisely, I had a 10:50 appointment, was called into exam room around 11:10, and didn't get out until 12:15. Spent all my time waiting: for X-rays, for doc, for doc again (20 min. "getting injection materials"). Saw the doc for maybe 6-8 minutes, total. Everyone was polite, but not much of an apology for wasting at least an hour of my time. read more

Visiting a medical facility is never a fun trip as it means care needs to be rendered for an injury. As a first time patient here, overall we had a great experience...from the ease of scheduling, the professionalism of the staff, and the quality of care. The clinic was very clean with many seating availability in the waiting lobby. There are options to digitally check-in or with a staff member. Parking options are plentiful either in a multi-level garage or outdoor spaces. Will be back...for a follow-up of course. Enjoy! read more

was a experience today December 22. 2025 3:00 pm my 13 year old son has to wait two hours to get help. the lady from the front office tell them to wait she finish her shift change to lady and nobody ask why they was waiting for. I'm trying to reach out the office three times and nobody answer. I had to call my son and pass me lady in the office. read more

Been a patient with OV for years & have been seen at three of their locations. 2nd time at this location. First time was a bit chaotic & I ended up waiting longer than normal to be seen. This time we walked into an empty office. The receptionist was pleasant & efficient and checked us in quickly. We were literally seen immediately and taken to an exam room. A nurse came in was nice enough but oddly she walked in, got on the computer & started asking questions without ever really greeting us. Needed an x-ray & that tech came & got us, greeted us and was very friendly. We saw Lauren, the PA, who was fantastic; outgoing, very thorough, and explained everything so we knew exactly what the problem was and were given a clear course of action to take in order to fully heal. We would highly recommended her! All-in-all we had a really fantastic experience and without the painful office wait. This was, by far, our best experience at an OV location. Big improvement from last time! read more

The care was fantastic! The doctor that took care of me, Jeffery Hamilton, was very comfortable and cheerful. I was taken great care of by him, they really went above and beyond! read more

Every single appointment expect 2 hours. Even in the morning. Clearly their scheduling system is flawed

Person ahead of me waited an hour and I'm at 30 min. Zero communication ahead of time about a significant delay. Dr is fine but no relief for back pain yet, so we'll see how it pans out. read more

The staff, front desk, and team do not appreciate their patients and couldn't care less about my generous lunch provided to them. Instead, they forward my balance without applying the insurance correctly to collections. The accounting team just does not care about patients and the front desk and staff do not respect the patient to communicate professionally. read more

Terrible experience with the wait time. I'm not sure if they are understaffed or it happened to be a busy day, but I showed up to my appointment 10 minutes early and I was seen to 50 minutes past my appointment time. The doctor was great though. Took his time to answer all my questions and thoroughly examined my pain points. read more

My Docter referred me to these folks because I've been experiencing pain and inflammation in my left elbow for many years - I was not confident that much could be done. So I went in to see Dr. Dombrowski. The Doc diagnosed me as having tendinosis. So the first step was a shot of Cortisone. He warned me this was going to hurt - I was like "Yeah - right - whatever!" He had me lay down - when the needle was inserted into the elbow region - I think I must have levitated about 3 feet off the table - I screamed and cussed like I was being tortured by professionals - Wow - I was definitely not prepared for the level of pain I experienced. The good news was that my reaction indicated that he had gotten shot into the correct area. If anyone was sitting out in the waiting room - they were probably thinking "Oh my God - what are they doing back there?!" He also prescribed physical therapy for several months and a brace to wear on my elbow. Some six months later - my elbow is waaaaaayyyy different! I am really happy with the change! While my elbow might not ever be back to 100% - all of the constant pain and inflammation is gone. They also have a physical therapy location here adjacent to the office - I did my first few sessions of physical therapy here before I switched to one of Commonwealth Orthopaedics other locations. You come in, wait for them to call you - they take you back - you perform a set of exercises they have prescribed for you - then your physical therapist comes over to conduct various treatments on you. I like Dr. Dombrowski and my Physical Therapist Erin Moran and would recommend them for anyone that needs to visit an Orthopaedic Surgeon and a Physical Therapist. read more

My review is not based on the doctor but rather the office. Dr. Parker is amazing!

Typical fast food medicine. If you're looking to get an injection or your body part drained, go here. They will do it, no questions asked or history taken. But don't expect to be given any pain relief for said procedure, or for the pain afterwards that you will surely have because your issue has not been fixed. If you want to know why you need an injection or why you have the swelling you have, don't go here. They aren't concerned with finding root causes, just getting their insurance payment. If you have two issues, for example, hip and knee pain in the same leg, you can only be seen for one of those things. They do not believe the hip and knee joints have any relationship to each other, which should be a major red flag to anyone who has legs... All they want is your second co-payment. Therefore, you have to get child care or take more time off work and expose yourself to covid just so they can get the most money out of your body. read more

Their care may be great, but I don't know. I have called 3 times over 2 weeks to get a physical therapy appointment for my son. I have spoken with 3 people and left 2 voicemail messages. If they are not taking new patients or if they only accept patients through orthopedists in this practice, they should say so. I cannot tell if they are merely inefficient or if they are rude but the end result is the same: they wasted my time and my kid hasn't had physical therapy. I had an excellent experience here 3 years ago for hand/wrist issues. It's a shame their administrative ineptness gets in the way of care. read more

Rating a 2 based on my second experience. If I based it on the first doctor I saw, Dr Childs, I'd give this place a 5. Dr Childs has the most amazing bedside manner. I was there for a surgical consult for my spine. By the time it was over he decided that while my back was a nightmare, surgery wasn't necessary. He then speculated my hips were the cause. He wrote a prescription for an MRI on both hips and had me schedule an appointment with another doctor at the location, Dr Vitek. After my MRI, I went back. I can safely say that even IF Dr. Vitek were amenable to operating on my hips, I would not let him. He has a terrible bedside manner and frankly, I felt like he was kind of a jerk. I appreciated him giving me a correct diagnosis after having me x-rayed by a very nice x-ray tech. It does turn out that I've gone for a while without anyone bothering to notice my hips were messed up but still. He didn't really introduce himself, just sat down, and acted disgusted. He gave me no hope and actually said he couldn't do a thing with me. What the hell kind of thing is that to say? At least try not to sound like a fatalist, I'm a person, not an object. So, I would not recommend Dr Vitek. i WOULD recommend Dr Childs in a heartbeat. read more

I am writing about David Smith, a physical therapist in the PT office. He is in the process of treating my frozen shoulder and I am getting better by leaps and bounds because of him. When he manipulates my shoulder he starts very gentle and then slowly increases without letting it get too painful. He has good instincts. There might be other therapists in the office who aren't quite as talented as him. David is amazing. read more

I have been waiting for well over an hour for someone ANYONE to give me results from an MRI. I don't care who at this point. Completely unacceptable. I complained and was taken back to a room and told I was next 30 minutes ago. Completely unacceptable and unbelievably rude. The kicker is they KNEW doctor was running behind and made no effort to inform anyone. If I could give this zero stars I would. read more

This review is for the Physical Therapy department. Professional and friendly place with a great upbeat vibe. Wait time was nil and if the provider doesn't see you right away, you are started with therapy exercises so no wasted time. PT Hugh McGee was great. Listened to and addressed my concerns, included me in goal setting and treatment plan. Had me back on my feet (pun intended) and with a workable home plan in about 6 weeks. Had a little bit of a wait to get started with him but well worth it. I've been an RN for 30+ yrs and had PT on and off for 15+ yrs for a chronic problem, so I've seen a lot of the the good, the bad, and the otherwise. This practice is definitely one of the good ones and I highly recommend it. read more

Awful care. I should not have returned to the hand specialist after my older daughter's thumb never healed from the same injury my second daughter now has. Six weeks ago, I brought my daughter to see the hand doctor when she hurt her thumb. An xray showed she had a torn ligament that should heal with a cast. Six weeks later, the cast came off and her finger hurt like before the cast was put on. With a new xray, the doctor now thinks it is her bone. Not until I questioned him did he suggest an MRI. An appointment was scheduled for the MRI. They work with a call center and it is impossible to get to the office. This practice is too big and has totally lost the personal touch you would expect from a doctor's office. read more

Horrible scheduling. There are no "general" orthopedic doctors, only those who specialize in regions...even if your issues are in multiple locations. I only interacted with one doctor at this practice. He seemed to ignore part of my problem and barely touched the area I complained about to assess the severity of the injury. read more

I had absolutely great experience with my OrthoVirginia team which was taking care of me during the surgery on my shattered left knee meniscus (Dr. Parker, MD, Jeffrey Hamilton, PA-C, Sandra Mata, Scheduling Specialist, all techs, billing and front desk personnel). All of them were highly professional, well trained and very caring. My surgery went well, my knee is healing also well. I recommend OrthoVirginia for everyone. Thank you, guys. You are great! read more

by the time i finish this review, i would've waited 1 hour for a review of MRI. if i'm to be seen at 2:30, then make an appointment for 2:30, not 1:30. there goes 1 hour of my life i'll never get back. truly unacceptable. and just like that, 1 hour of waiting. doctor is still nowhere to be seen. UPDATE: 1 hour and 15 minutes, still no doctor. this is the ultimate game of chicken. who blinks first? do i just walk out with bone reverberating pain in my joint? or grind it out and suffer the mental debilitation and perhaps a permanent scarring of psyche? FODO; fear of doctor's office. #thestruggleisreal read more

From beginning to end (although I need to schedule PT still) my experience at OrthoVirginia has been great. It was easy to schedule an appointment and I was blown away by the incredible bedside manner of Dr. Parker and his team. He talked through the xrays and I felt like I really had a say in the course of treatment that came next. Communication has been great in person, on the phone, and through their web portal. Would definitely return. read more

I saw Dr.Croog of Commonweath Orthopaedics couple of month ago for my hand injury. The reason I chose Dr. Croog was based on his education background. He is a graduate of Harvard. I figured how can I go wrong for choosing a Harvard graduate doctor. My impression of him was that he is more interested in making money billing my insurance company over treating my injury. I spent 1.5 hours waiting in waiting room and 2 minute consultation with him over my injury. I guess if you are super smart, you can see patients for 2 minutes and make appropriate diagnosis. I got the feeling he is not a caring doctor. Dr.Croog is Dr.Crook! read more

Dr. Alexander Croop is one of the few hand specialists on my Aetna insurance. At first I thought he didn't have great bedside manner, but when my pain persisted we did surgery and he was great. He will follow-up with you right away if you have any concerns and has a great physician's assistant, Mike Earley. Together they got me through this awful mess with my wrist. He is a great doctor. His office has been pretty good and his secretary returns calls swiftly. I'm very pleased that I went with him over my other few choices. read more

I 'm am positive my shoulder surgery failed because of the incompetent young PT I saw there. She over-manipulated me way too much on my first two visits, and it completely failed right after that. Don't go there! read more

My mom injured her knee last year and after months of convincing her to see a doctor she finally agreed. I made the appointment for her at the Fairfax office since it was the closest to my house. She arrived on time but didn't get to see anyone until 30 minutes later. A man took her to the room for some x-ray. He gave her some instructions on what she needed to do, being a 50 something yrs old asian woman, it was hard for her to understand a few things he said so she asked nicely if he could repeat. The man was being extremely rude, he snapped at her. She then said to him in a firm and loud voice to please speak slow and be nice to her since English was her second language. After that, he was nicer and when finished he told her to wait while he went to get the doctor. 30 minutes later still no doctor while there were noise and laughter in the hallway. She went out in the hallway and asked the doctor and nurses she saw out there to be seen by the doctor right away, the appointment was for 11am and she had waited for one hour. They apologized and said a doctor would be with her in 10 minutes. One minute later the doctor (THE SAME ONE SHE SAW OUT IN THE HALL WAY CHATTING) came in. Very unprofessional and not patient-friendly. read more

Expect to be treated like cattle. My doctor was routinely 45 minutes late for appointments and very rushed when I finally was treated. Service is also generally poor whenever you deal with front desk staff. Results of my treatment were OK but didn't seem particularly well thought through. read more
