I met my first dog through a mutual foster family of the rescue. It started off with her being very adorable to her still being very adorable but also very comfortable with the laces on my sweatpants. How could such a perfect dog go through two laces? What really stood out about this rescue was how communicative, supportive, and genuine everyone was throughout the adoption process. You could tell that they really cared about placing dogs in the right homes and making sure that both the dogs and the adopters were set up for success. I felt informed and supported every step of the way. Thanks to them, I found my beautiful lace loving girl. She's brought so much joy into my life and I'm forever grateful. 10/10 experience with the rescue 0/2 surviving sweatpants laces

As a volunteer for a local county shelter, I am so grateful for this rescue. I have fostered several dogs for Orphan Annie and most recently adopted from them. One of the main reasons I love this rescue is their thorough vetting process. At the local shelter there is no vetting process so anyone can adopt without any vetting. I fostered a litter of 5 puppies for Orphan Annie and I was a part of the vetting process so I can 1000% confirm they do contact an applicant's vet and ask all the right questions. I was part of the adoption process along with the rescue. I contacted the potential adopters after they completed the application process. All 5 puppies ended up in the most amazing homes and I attribute that to the vetting process. When a dog from the local shelter ends up going to Orphan Annie Rescue, I am ecstatic because I know they will be placed in the BEST homes for them. They are well known and admired by many animal advocates in Georgia! All dogs that come into Orphan Annie are well cared for on every level. I believe the negative reviews come from people that were just not a good fit. If you go to their Facebook page you can see all the dogs they have rescued and place in the most amazing homes and see many testimonies from happy parents!

I am so incredibly thankful to have found Orphan Annie Rescue. Not only did it lead me to my heart dog and actual love of my life, it gave me community and friendships that I cherish. Lara and Michelle run an extraordinary operation. Despite having full time jobs themselves, they (along with their volunteers and fosters) are constantly doing the hard, the heavy, and the GOOD work to save these dogs and intentionally find their forever families. The minute I saw my girl's post, I knew in my heart she was it for me - but I also understood that I might not be the right fit for her. During the application process, Lara was so communicative and easy to work with. She really made sure she was asking the right questions and providing adequate information to know for certain that the match was right for us both.. and it was! From the moment I brought her home, Ella acted as if she'd been here all along. She is my constant companion, my office assistant, and the absolute light of my life. I will ALWAYS sing their praises and recommend OAR to anyone I know looking to adopt. Several of my friends have followed them on socials, and all of them know how near and dear they are to my heart.

My OAR foster and OAR alumnus.

I can review from both perspectives - both as an adopter and a foster - and OAR is amazing on both fronts. The people who volunteer at OAR are extremely dedicated to making sure their dogs go to the right families. A lot of work goes into communicating with the fosters to determine the needs of each dog to give the dogs and their new owners the best chance at success. Keep in mind, this is all volunteer-led and driven and they are not paid for one minute of the time they spend with the pups. They really do love every one that comes into the program as does the vet that does the dentals, neutering, health visits, etc. I would (and do) recommend anyone looking to adopt or foster to apply with OAR!

Absolutely cannot say enough great things about Orphan Annie Rescue (OAR). We recently adopted our second dog through OAR, and the experience was exceptional. The team matched us perfectly with our new little guy, and he's fitting right into our family. OAR is a loving and kind organization. We particularly appreciate that they place rescues in foster homes before they are up for adoption. This gives the dogs time to decompress and allows OAR to understand their personalities and needs better, which they share with potential adopters and also are very particular about selecting the best new home and environment for these precious babies. When we inquired about a few dogs, OAR helped us find the perfect fit. Our new little guy had some initial struggles adjusting to our home, and when we reached out for advice, OAR promptly arranged for a trainer to visit and provide us with tailored guidance which was so helpful! OAR is a wonderful organization that takes great care in placing animals in the best homes. We highly recommend them to anyone looking to adopt a rescue dog.

Big shout out to the professional staff of Orphan Annie Rescue in Atlanta. We are retired and live on St Simons and have been looking for a second dog for 18 months. We are committed to rescue organizations and shelters. Not sure how we found Ophan Annie Rescue but so glad we did. We filled out the application and tried to give as much information as possible about us, our lifestyle and our home, our current awesome dog. We applied for a few dogs over a couple of months and were not accepted for those dogs but no hard feelings. We were convinced early in the process that the goal of this rescue is to match the right dog with the right family. That situation ultimately happened for us and we could not be happier. If you fall in love with a dog on their website, fill out a detailed application, ask any and all questions about that dog, and be patient. They care about all the dogs in their care and their goal is happy dogs, happy families. Thank you OAR!!!

I don't think we will ever be able to thank Orphan Annie Rescue enough for saving our boy Trooper. He has been the absolute best thing for our family and has truly changed our lives for the better. He was the piece of the puzzle we didn't even know was missing This is a rescue that is run by volunteers. Their number one priority is finding forever homes for these dogs that they save. I hate seeing these reviews written by people who have not even adopted from them! They have a process in place and policies to make sure these dogs don't get dumped again or returned. They are the ones putting in the work to save these animals and if your current situation isn't the right fit, then that should be respected. I have nothing but great things to say about every step of our process in adopting Trooper. We've even stayed in touch with his foster mom and have become good friends. I would absolutely rescue from them again and will always refer anyone looking to adopt to them. Thank you so much to everyone at Orphan Annie

We adopted our precious little dog (ok, fur child!!) from them before covid lock downs. They are busy and that is how it should be-they are out rescuing dogs, getting them medical care, loving on them, etc. I am so grateful to them for our precious boy! He is such a joy to our family.

She wasn't pushy like other places we had visited. Meagan really has a genuine love for her pups. We went in looking for a Poodle and ended up with a Maltipoo. After being in our family for several days now, that peace has been confirmed even more. Cali or Callie (we haven't decided on the spelling yet) is her name since we're from there. I recently brought home two teacup Yorkshire Terriers, and I am absolutely in love with them. From the moment I picked them up, I could tell how much love and care had gone into raising them. One of them, Tiny, went straight to the pee wee pad when we got home--such a smart little guy! His older brother Titan loves to cuddle and falls asleep in my sisters arms when she hold him. Seeing how they behave really shows how well they're cared for and prepped before going to their forever homes. The experience was smooth, the environment was clean, and it's clear the team at Precious Petite Puppies truly cares about every single pup. But not only that, they really cared that these babies go to the right homes. I had a good bit of things I had to provide to be able to have my sweet boy. But I would do it all over again in a heart beat. He's so perfect for me and you can tell that only people working in a rescue for this long can tell when an animal is going to fit in the right place. Even right down to the fosters. They were so wonderful, so welcoming. And now it's been seven weeks that I've had my baby. And I couldn't be more happy, or grateful in this moment. Thank you for making this process such a wonderful experience. And most importantly for everything every single one of you in this organization does.
