The finess and timing of every dish was spot on. There was not a single question that our group asked that any member of the staff couldn't answer. They were able to accomodate every request we made and most assuredly went above and beyond. Now to the food...the marinated prawns, the risotto, the lamb loin......only a few things in life make you close your eyes and moan so passionately. Well every single bite makes you close your eyes and believe you are in heaven. It is an experience that is hard to put into words. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to eat at Il Ritrovo. The only downside is I will not look at any nice meal the same and I have no idea how to top this anniversary next year. I didn't think that they would speak English or have English menu's. (Only because it was secluded and such an traditional looking place.) The food...all I can say is wow. We started off our meal with Tatin di sfoglia ai funghi porcini tomino caldo, panna acida alle erbe e cardoncelli. Basically, (although there was nothing basic about this dish) it was a little pie made with mouth watering Porcini Mushrooms, with a cream sauce and cheese. For the main dish, I had pizzoccheri alla salvia erbette rupestri, patate e Bitto d'alpeggio. Pasta made with herbs, potatoes and a cheese sauce. I can't even put into words how amazing this dish was. We had some wine from the region as well, which was amazing. The team of servers were fantastic. Not only did they speak English if you prefer, but they are funny and keep you smiling. Helpful in determining what would best suit your taste buds and dietary needs!
