This is a wonderful space. I am so baffled by the lack of any welcoming art work especially in the children's entrance. The building walls are white, pavement dirty, nothing to draw children into the wonderful world that awaits them. Even after you enter, the walls are completely blah! The employees are friendly and this place could be transformed into an enticing haven for all ages. Libraries are my favorite places, but in my 75 years, I have not seen one less inviting. I beg you, engage a team , whether paid or volunteer, and make your library stellar! read more

Enforce the "whisper rule". I have been in there on a computer 20 times in 3 months, it's NEVER been quiet. The workers are loud as hell, people replacing books on the metal shelves are careless and loud. May as well hit the damn thing with a hammer. Sad really. What happened to manners, being considerate and aware? read more

I've been here a couple of times and thought the service was great and people helpful. I know a few moms that bring their toddler here for story time as well. They do a Farmer's market every Thursday next door. read more

Most of the audio books are on endless holds by others . Can never get a book I think I might like . Doesn't seem to be a limit how many books a person can have on hold , tying up so others can't read them . read more

This is my main library. Most of my books are e-books or audio and I download them from this library via an app called overdrive. That being said when my wife and I am walking the bridge across the street from the library we stop in for a magazine browse and to cool down in the A/C. This library has everything you need and if they don't they will order it for you. They have movie DVD's and audio books on CD and even cassettes (for those that still have the players). Plenty of books to browse and an entire children's section that my kids grew up in. Make sure to look at the bulletin boards by the water fountain as well to look at all of the free classes and events going on at or around the library. read more

Unfortunately, there are too many conversations and cell phones going off. Whining child walking through with his mom and no effort to quiet him down. Security guard looks like a high school kid and there is zero enforcement of the rules. Port Orange library is bigger, has more space to study, and is much quieter. read more

In the area and i needed to print Tax forms. Wonderful view..... outside benches, on the water, clean, peaceful. Parking close...i proceed in. The pleasant librarians issued me guest pass. Dolphins books and sea turtles Ormond Beach Public Library is an impressive place that shares a building with the town offices. The building itself isn't particular aesthetically pleasing but does have a stunning fountain with some dolphins in the front. The inside is very modern with all the newest amenities and nice selection of books and periodicals. A place where you can find a comfy spot to do some real work or just sit back and relax with a good book. The children's department is decorated with all kinds of cutesy things and has enough space to let the kids burn off some energy. What I really enjoyed about this library are all the old photos in the hallway by the bathrooms. A photographic history of the town and region that is fascinating to look at. Toward the entrance there is a wonderful model of a sea turtle that seems to be swimming right by without a care in the world. This is a very cool library that will entertain as well as educate. read more

She was very obliging and helped by giving me step by step instructions. Very thankful for her help. read more

Was looking for somewhere w internet access for a meeting today. We're full time RV'ers, and park internet is down. Was told for a meeting I'd have to reserve a room and fill out an application first. Asked if a room was avail this afternoon and was told they can't say until they've processed application. Not very helpful! I have to be at this meeting and can't even tell if a room is available. Obviously don't want or care for tourist traffic. So we will go elsewhere and enjoy lunch with our internet access. Not friendly staff, not accommodating and not very informative! read more

I moved here almost 15 years ago & this library was one of the first places I learned to drive to. The library is beautiful & easy to navigate. The employees are great, always helpful & always with a smile. The view of the river from the library is wonderful. When I walk into the Ormond Beach Library I leave all my concerns at the door......it's a very special place. read more

Our family has lived in this area for quite awhile since moving from up north. Prior to about the summer of 2019 I probably would have given the library at least a 4 star. However, now it caters to those inclined towards DVD's & electronic this and electronic that--none of which interests my family members so we use our reciprocal borrowing privileges elsewhere. I hear new management has taken over and it's not for the better. We personally knew the former branch heads and supervisor and feel like they were kind and friendly. I believe it was Susan House and Kirstin Bennett. It is now a shell of what it once was and seemingly not a well-cared for staff. Just my .02 read more

The librarians here are extremely friendly and at tentative, both in the Children's room and general reading room. They have a wonderful reading program for children where they allow kids to pick prizes each time they finish a certain amount of books. Best of all my girls LOVE the doll house (ask for dolls at the librarian's desk in children's room). They can play for hours here. Literally. There are tons of puzzles, board games and nice collection for children. The book store in adults section is great, diverse selection and excellent prices. I have filled huge tote bags twice for under $6. I have t been here without my 3 and 5 year old yet so I have had ample time to assess the adult collection beyond what is on the"new Books" shelves close to check out. They also have a teen reading room that looks cosy and interesting! read more

I've been taking my son here since he was born for story time and to check out books. Four years of it and if you bring your books and movies back to check in, YOU BETTER STAND THERE AND LISTEN TO EACH THING BEEP AS THEY SCAN IT IN, cause they've claimed Phoenix hasn't returned 4 things now and I personally know he's returned them cause I'm the bitch carrying the books and movies up to the "return drop"! The book they're claiming he didn't return, but I clearly recall putting it in the book return myself... I'm waiting on a fucking replacement book to come in the mail to keep bad marks off his library card. And there's no way I'd have kept that stupid book to begin with, he wanted to check it out, we did, he didn't even like the stupid book, so I clearly remember returning it. Yet they don't have it. I've turned my house upside down, it's nowhere to be found. I spent 5 fucking hours of my own precious time, searching thru every single book shelf and book title in the children's section of this library and it's not there. I will take him there for story time but never check out another thing from there. read more

Nice employees and facilities, but it is the noisiest library I've ever visited. Used one of the study rooms for studying and could still hear everything clearly. No inside library voice rules here apparently. Employees/librarians should really try to enforce these rules. More like being at books-a-million at the mall than a library. read more

This library is a gem! Many great books that are not mainstream, beautiful selection of childrens' books and DVDs and the staff are helpful and friendly, simply wonderful. The kids and I go there a couple of times a week for their kids' activities, arts & crafts, legos, science, reading and puppet plays and jumping beans, singing and dancing for the little ones. Renewing your books online is easy and their notification system (they send you a message a day before an item is due) is convenient. Also, making a reservation for a book from another location is easily done online and free. They also have a small "seed bank" which you can take for free. We're growing Marigolds, sweet pepper, beans, carrots, radishes and more, lots of fun and good eatin' :) Now they have a scavenger hunt going, fun for both grown ups and kids, to win a "How to kill a Mockingbird" goodie bag. They also organize computer lessons and gardening classes and probably lots more, check their agenda online. Can't say enough good things about the Ormond library, we love it! read more
