I am from the mid-west and here the coin shops have coins for sale in them, display cases full of coins and coin supplies. If you are after something rare it may take them a week or two to locate, but all the common coins and currency are IN STOCK. I visited Orlando Coin Exchange recently to find 3 empty display cases, staff was working on sorting some recent collections purchased, but nothing labeled for retail sale. Staff was great at getting me phone numbers of other dealers in the area that had what I was looking for, but in my book a Coin Shop needs to have coins in it. This is more of a broker, meaning I believe their main business is purchasing collections and then selling them to coin dealers, not to the general public. read more

This place was down the road from me. I had a bunch of jewelry from my grandmothers estate that I needed to exchange for cash. I do not have the time to deal with eBay. I want to preface that I have not written a yelp review before today, but my experience here made me have to write this. I have been buying coins for years and have been to coin shops in the past. I had some silver certificates and coins that were my mother's so I wanted to either trade or sell so I typed a coin store online. This store had the highest reviews on yelp so I decided to give it a try and drove there. I arrived when the store was opening at 10 am and saw the door appointments only (which I was unaware of since I typed it on google maps). I knocked on the door to see if I could have made an appointment. There were no other customers at the store yet so it was not like it was busy. If you have never been to a coin store before you usually have to be buzzed in since the door is usually locked. The owner or employee just looked at me through the door like a deer in headlights doing absolutely nothing and did not even bother to just open the door and tell me when a time was available to come back. I could totally understand if the store was busy especially since I did not have an appointment, but there were no customers yet and the staff was not doing anything. And what was even more rude is my mother has two hip replacements and for her to get out of the car and for them to ignore us. To make it even better, their first customer shows after we waited 10 minutes at the door and they open the door and did not even acknowledge us. Please have the decency to just take 30 seconds to open the door and say when you have an appointment available. read more

Most of the coins have really just been polished down then warn down to try and hide the polish while still leaving some shine or color. Then yells at you when looking at the coins closely while having to hunch forward because of the poor set up. read more
