Why?…read more This is what I want: 1) For her to learn to swim. 2) For her to enjoy and feel comfortable in the water. This is what I'm not interested in: 1) Feeling pressured to join the swim team. (Mr. Jenbert & I would be OK with her joining a swim team, but it would have to be because she wanted to, not someone else) 2) Building an Olympian athlete. (Again, if she wants it, that's a different story) 3) Getting Jenbert Jr. onto Stanford/Cal/other big name school swim team before she turns 9. Not 19. 4) Being treated differently (read: inferiorly) because my philosophy on swim lessons differs from theirs. 5) Being on a waitlist to join the club and when being offered a spot halfway through the year, the amount is not prorated.

They all learned to swim and two of them were/are on swim team while one did tennis for several years. My oldest was a junior coach in high school and loved it almost as much as swimming. Love the multi-age aspect - where else these days can 5-year-olds and 17-year-olds be on the same team and the older ones can mentor the littles? The facilities are not as nice as OCC or MCC, but the culture is great. I love that many of the kids walk over from school during the year and ride their bikes to/from the club and hang out together in between swimming and tennis. It is a neighborhood pool in the best sense.

Review #136 - 2018 I…read moreguess this is try in most aspects of life, that we rarely appreciate the things that are closest to us until we've already ventured out & then compare it to what is right under our nose. I've been to this park only a few times since the baby's been born so I never realized how nice and clean our park actually is. There's a playground for the younger kids and one for the older kids. There's a good size sand box for the very young ones as well. The baby actually enjoyed the sand box a whole lot more than I'd expected. She didn't even want to leave after spending half an hour there. My son likes coming here because it has a tennis court and there's also a wall for him to hit alone when he doesn't feel like hitting with someone else. The park is within walking distance to all our local shops, bank and post office. The library is only a footsteps away. My son's only complaint is that they don't have a basketball hoop so we still have to drive elsewhere when he wants to shoot hoops with his cousins. There's no picnic/BBQ area, but you can definitely bring a picnic basket and a blanket to sit on the green lawn. We'll come back more often now that I have a newfound appreciation for our local park.
