(Again, if she wants it, that's a different story) 3) Getting Jenbert Jr. onto Stanford/Cal/other big name school swim team before she turns 9. Not 19. 4) Being treated differently (read: inferiorly) because my philosophy on swim lessons differs from theirs. 5) Being on a waitlist to join the club and when being offered a spot halfway through the year, the amount is not prorated.

Love the multi-age aspect - where else these days can 5-year-olds and 17-year-olds be on the same team and the older ones can mentor the littles? The facilities are not as nice as OCC or MCC, but the culture is great. I love that many of the kids walk over from school during the year and ride their bikes to/from the club and hang out together in between swimming and tennis. It is a neighborhood pool in the best sense.

I've been to this park only a few times since the baby's been born so I never realized how nice and clean our park actually is. There's a playground for the younger kids and one for the older kids. There's a good size sand box for the very young ones as well. The baby actually enjoyed the sand box a whole lot more than I'd expected. She didn't even want to leave after spending half an hour there. My son likes coming here because it has a tennis court and there's also a wall for him to hit alone when he doesn't feel like hitting with someone else. The park is within walking distance to all our local shops, bank and post office. The library is only a footsteps away. My son's only complaint is that they don't have a basketball hoop so we still have to drive elsewhere when he wants to shoot hoops with his cousins. There's no picnic/BBQ area, but you can definitely bring a picnic basket and a blanket to sit on the green lawn. We'll come back more often now that I have a newfound appreciation for our local park.

The Lake Temescal loop is a beautiful easy-medium short walk that's a little over a mile…read more As you walk the only partially paved trail you'll see a ton of wildlife (ducks and fish) and quite a few dogs being walked as well as a waterfall water feature. The views are picturesque and it's quite serene for how busy it is. The second half of the trail (after you loop around near the fallen tree) isn't paved and in poor weather would be likely too muddy to be particularly safe, so I would probably walk elsewhere after a good rain or while it's drizzling. All in all, we had nevr been to this lake before and it was gorgeous so we fully intend to return!
