We were very disappointed. I had 3 coupons for free hoagies that I purchased from a fundraiser that did say "take out only" which I did not notice until we arrived to eat. There were 6 of us and we were going to order other food in addition to the 3 hoagies. I asked if it would be possible to order the hoagies and then just bring them to the table and have them with the rest of the food we were ordering. The waitress said she didn't think so, but would check with the manager. She came back and said no, the manager said it's take out only. I asked who would stop me if I were to get the hoagies and then just come around through the dining room door with them to the table. She said "I would! And don't roll your eyes at me!" I would understand if the restaurant was busy and they needed the table, but there were only about 3 other groups in the entire dining room, so it's not like we would have been taking up a table that they needed for another party, and as I said we were going to order other food. So we got up, I went to the counter , ordered the 3 hoagies and we left. She lost out on a very nice tip and they lost out on a very nice food order, because we were planning on ordering quite a bit of food. I will also not go back, nor will I ever purchase any fundraising coupons for any organization if it is from them. read more

To start this off we have been going to OIP and taking out from them for many years. After our recent order from them we definitely will not be ordering again. To preference we ordered 3 pizzas, all three we have ordered in the past, on this particular one we got a mushroom with extra sauce. Again never had a problem before with this order, but for some reason this pizza was very soupy and haphazard with very little cheese. There was nothing wrong with the other two pizzas but the man on the phone insisted he made it himself and everything was made to perfection and tried explaining that adding extra sauce does that. He then tried to explain that in my transportation from driving the roads could have even caused it. It got to the point that he told me i would have to pay for another pizza to be made at this point it made no sense. what got me was he told me he didn't have time to argue, and tried back tracking and told me he didn't say that. The main of the argument was he personally made the pizza and blamed me without saying it was my fault but everything i did and ordered was the problem. read more

Let me tell yall future customers this, STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS SCUMMY PLACE. We ordered mozzarella sticks as a starter cause that's what we always do, keep in mind im a regular here so im surprised I even experienced this today. They arrived within a minute and I was shocked that they came that fast even though she had just taken our order. I bite into it and it was completely frozen. Almost broke my damn tooth biting into it that's how frozen they were. I waved over the waiter and she didn't apologize for inconvenience just took it off our table and went to go bring another one. I'm over here thinking they will definitely say something, maybe take it off, or even give us something as a sorry since they saw me bite into a hard ass popsicle, BUT HELLLL NO THEY STILL CHARGED US FOR IT. I'm telling the fat grumpy manager that even though I bit into a rock solid mozz stick you're not even gonna compensate me or at least discount for THIER MISHAP but the bowling ball manager replies with this "but we made you another one" with attitude looking at me like it was my fault when they f*cked it up in the first place. If she would've taken it off in the first place maybe the server would've gotten a tip but hell no they would rather keep the $8 from their Sysco mozzarella sticks and give the customer a big F U, insanely unbelievable. She doesn't even know how to run a business and im surprised she's even a manager. Couldn't take it off and now she just lost a repeat customer. Must really really suck. Food here is great, but the prices are starting to push a little bit too high to come here consistently. The subs are good, but after hearing the total for 3 the other day, I had to check what the price was and was surprised that they've gone up to $8.50 each for cold subs. You can even see on the menu here on Yelp that they used to be under 6 bucks. Wings have been way high for a while, but now subs are getting to that point as well. I think we'll just come by for a takeout pizza once or twice a month now. Everything else has gone up too much. Edited to add: Can you all PLEASE post an updated menu online somewhere? A lot of your prices have gone up a lot lately, and it would be nice to be able to see them before ordering. read more

9/11/20 they would not honor my yelp reward of free breadsticks so that was disappointing. The place was really busy and although the inside seating area was virtually empty thanks to the governor we were on a 25 minute wait. We elected to get take out instead. . . I was grateful that they took our order and we did get our food within the 30 minutes as promised. We ordered 1 large pizza half pepperoni and half cheese. I felt like the pepperoni was very stingy and there was a lot of crust on the pizza. I felt like it was cutting corners. The garden salad was good -crispy lettuce, tomato, peppers and cucumbers. The pizza was ok and I teetered on a 2 1/2-3 star review. I would probably return again but would try something else on the menu- not pizza. read more

FIX THE ENTRANCE. I have been here beyond numerous times. I came up to OIP to have dinner with my friends Steve and Jack. Steve is a very big man and it's taken a toll on his knees. So we parked at the "old" front entrance or what any person in the world would assume to be the front entrance. We walked through the door and were told by the snotty little bleached blonde waitresses that the entrance is now on the "side" and we'd need to go back out and walk all the way around the building. I said ok and walked past her twenty feet to the hostess stand. REALLY????? You should be happy people come in here for your AVERAGE pizza and LESS THAN AVERAGE service. $30 plus tip for a pizza and 3 sodas........... And yes I walked right back through the restaurant and back out the door I came in when I left. read more

I ate here with 4 other people. The inside is a bit run down with booths having rips in them but the service was nice and attentive. The food was yummy. I recommend getting garlic bread with cheese for the table, it was so yummy. I ordered a vegetarian calzone with basil which was pretty yummy! Overall everyone enjoyed their meal except my mom who ordered a taco salad. For the most part I would stick to ordering classic Italian food while you dine here. :) read more

Terrible terrible terrible customer service. Condescending staff, can tell they hate working there. 90% of my takeout orders are messed up. Reading a piece of paper and making the food on it is far from rocket science, yet I ordered a cheesesteak salad and it didn't even have cheese in it. WOW!!! We loved it! We're from Philadelphia which has a lot of great places, so we are picky when it comes to pizza pies! We stopped in to the Original Italian Pizza & Restaurant on Saturday night, Sept 5, 2020 on our way home from Knoebels for take out, right before they closed. The counter girl couldn't have been nicer and made sure we had everything we needed to eat on the go. The order was perfect - the food, plates, napkins, ketchup, knives & forks, etc! The pizza was really great, and the sauce they use was delicious! Our kids are young, 4 & 7, and loved their chicken finger platters, with nice square cut fries...and she made sure we had plenty of ketchup & happy kids! We are looking forward to coming back and are happy to recommend Original Italian Pizza!!! read more

I've been here four times and have the following to offer: 1). Customer Service. Staff are all very pleasant. You get a table quickly and your drink order is fast. The wait staff to get your order aren't quite as fast but quite friendly. 2). Alcohol prices are very reasonable. 3). Generally speaking for the price the food is good. Their Italian meatball soup is quite nice. So are their salads, which have very generous portions. I had two pasta dishes. One was a special and one was a staple. The special was quite good with the Alfredo sauce. The meatballs and marinara sauce had what seems to be too much sugar. Meatballs appears to be bought rather than homemade. 4). SUMMARY: Something happened here, its just not good anymore :( We used to LOVE going to this OIP. The cheese steaks were to DIE for, they were that good. Then something happened, we don't know what. But it seems like management changed and everything went down hill. The cheese steaks where in theory the same, but they weren't anywhere near as good. Steaks were over cooked, cheese wasn't mixed in, bread wasn't as fresh. Then we hit the service that stopped us from going here. We ordered ribs and they came out BLACK as in BURNT to hell and back. We tried, I mean tried to eat them. They were not eatable. We called the manager over and told her of the concerns and she never once apologized or seemed to care. Almost telling us that they were fine. Trust me, they were not OK, like char on a stick! ... It got so bad that we basically told her that we weren't paying for this and had to walk out of the restaurant after insisting that we pay for the drinks. Ok, now cooking 101: YOU DO NOT put BBQ sauce on ribs and then put them on the grill, it burns. You heat up a pot of BBQ sauce, heat up the ribs and then smother it on. So long story short, something happened. This place went from being WE HAVE TO STOP here each time we are in elysburg to: Lets never go here again. I went here after going to the Bloomsburg Fair. We had garden salads, pizza and lobster ravioli. The pizza was very fresh. The crust was cooked perfectly. All the toppings were fresh. We had green peppers, mushrooms and black olives. The service was very attentive and pleasant. Our server was Chrissy. Everything exceeded my expectations. My experience definitely contradicts other reviewers. My visit was not anything like what the negative reviewers experienced. I would recommend trying it out for yourself! read more

Worst place ever ! They charged me 9.50 for a chicken cheese steak. An extra 2.00 just for chicken I didn't know about since they didn't have a website as I i was passing through. Beef is more expensive then chicken which makes no sense. Got it for pick up. Barely had any meat in it had to eat half the bread to get to it in the back of sub. Literally took a slice of tomato and cut it in half and used it forsandwich. Tiny bit of white lettuce to go with that. Paid almost 10$ for bread and mayo. Thanks! Stopped in here a couple times and each time it has been fabulous. The stuffed pizza is delicious and garlicky (the family was fighting over the pizza drippings). The spicy ranch wings were cooked perfectly crispy, loved the sauce. My son had barbeque and liked then as well. Attentive wait staff and great food, who can ask for more. My entire family looks forward to stopping here again, and soon. read more

Ordered a Ravioli "carry out" dinner for my 90 year uncle to surprise him from the Original in Elysburg. The main course came in a small dish (about 1/3 the size of other Original restaurants that I have been to. (A "child" serving). Another reviewer said that their portions are generous. That may be so for "eat in" but not "carry out". The price was the same, but the value for your money was not there to say the least. My uncle in fact remarked about the extra small size of the serving. Will not be going there again. To top it off, the meal was not that good either. This business will make big profits initially based on the above, but in the long run, they will not be able to continue to fool their customers. read more

We stopped at oip after a wonderful visit to knoebels. The restaurant was crowded but by no means packed. We ended up leaving after waiting for over a half an hour for our waitress to bring our menus. Instead of an apology the waitress was extremely rude. I was discriminated against here. We had a party of 8 they told us we could only be sat separately in two different booths. We questioned this, asked if they could put two tables together and they checked with the lady in charge, and she said, and I quote "They must be sat in two separate booths." They said there was no other options. When we were seated I noticed that three other groups of 8 were seated at two tables that had been moved together, and there were two open tables still in the same room. I asked if we could just put these two tables together and sit there. The guy said "no." I asked why, and he responded simply with "I have to follow what my boss says." What do you know, five minutes later another group of 8 came in, they moved the two open tables together and sat them there. A couple minutes later one of the previous groups left and we were not offered their tables. After that a couple minutes later another group of 8 left and we were not offered their tables. On top of this in the other dinning room, during the duration of our entire visit there was a table open that could have been moved to seat 8. Unreal! read more

By far the worst dining experience I've had in awhile or even ever. Ordered our meals and the waitress was nice. Then it went down hill, took forever to get our food and then I saw my grilled chicken salad(you could see into the open kitchen from our seats) it sat up on the food shelf for awhile the the cook took it down then 10 minutes later put it back up. Meanwhile our waitress never came to apologize for the wait or ask if we needed anything. Then another waitress asked ours what the salad was doing up there and she started complaining about the other cooks making my wife's Stromboli and then the cooks says o I put that Stromboli in a to go box and its been sitting up here, so he takes it down and puts it on a plate, then my waitress touches the chicken on my salad and says its cold so the cook behind the divider picks the chicken off my salad and throws it on the grill and squirts water on it and then puts it back on my salad. So I get my salad with soggy chicken and grill juice all over my lettuce. To top it off I sat the majority of our stay with an empty drink my waitress didn't even glance at my empty cup. The owner then came over with a filthy pizza cutter and tried to explain how sometimes pizza cutters get dirty and stuff sticks to it.
