This is simply the best restaurant in town. Period. The owner/chef is so friendly and committed to delivering an amazing flavorful experience every single meal. At this point we've had the entire menu and there's nothing we've eaten that I wouldn't recommend. I wish there were more open minded people in this area that would give this establishment a chance because regardless of your familiarity with Venezuelan food there is literally something for all tastes here. Best food in town. Some of the best arepas I've ever had! You can't leave without ordering the Domino - it's a classic and done perfectly every time. Their trifongo is super flavorful - it seemed like it might have pork rinds in it so if pork isn't your thing, mention that in advance. I had both the shrimp and chicken options (different sauces) and they were both killer. Then recommended it to a coworker who said it's in his top five restaurants of all time. The service was great, it took a little more time to get our food, but take into account that there was only one cook in the kitchen. Eat here!!! We're from PA and we stopped over at the motel near by on our way home from the smokey mountains. When I looked online for good eats I was shocked to see Puerto Rican food was an option. My wife is Puerto Rican so, it was an immediate yes for us to try it. I had the fried pork, rice and peas. The rice and gandaules were awesome! Clearly a homemade sofrito. That gets bonus points. Wifey is mostly vegetarian and there were quite a few options for her to choose from. (More bonus points) She got a cheese empanada and an arepa that had beans and plantains on it. She loved that too. All of the sauces we tried were tasty. Highly recommend the mojo on the pork crispy edges but when you bite down it melts in your mouth...I might get some more on the way out of town. Simply put, FANTASTIC!!! For a small city to have a restaurant of this caliber and quality is amazing, notably the Puerto Rican flavor of the food. The chef, Rosa, is exceptional and the food selection is huge with daily specials that are fantastic. If you want to request something special they are glad to accommodate. What was a really huge surprise is the seafood is fresh, not in a freezer for weeks. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, very family oriented, and the staff is very professional and respectful. The price point is very good, and the portions are generous. They have a wide selection of wine and beer, on tap or bottles. This is certainly a place that needs to be checked out, especially if you're tired of chain restaurants. Very well worth the trip; I'll be back there again. read more

it was Fish Friday yesterday, so as they advertised swordfish and an appetizer of crabmeat balls, we went. The food was wonderful. there were sautéed onion green and red bell peppers on the beautiful slab of fish, very generous. this colorful Relush was in a tangy sauce and topped the grilled fish, and the crabmeat balls, 6 of them, had a tangy sauce of their own for dipping. Oh, what a pleasant surprise! We were on a road trip from Charleston SC and needed to stop for lunch but didn't want to stop for fast food. This little gem popped up on our search and I'm so happy it did. We split the Empanada Platter and the Venezuelan Butcher Board and we were very happy with our selections. They have a large beverage board and while we didn't partake, the available options were tempting. The interior is cute, very clean (including the restrooms) and well done as well. It was too cold out but they do have a large outdoor patio, which looks like it would be nice in the warmer weather. If you are driving through the area and are looking for a spot that is a short distance from the highway, definitely stop and give them a try. read more

We loved this little place and wished we had found it sooner on our vacation because we would've stopped there multiple times. The menu is filled with items and words we had no idea of (there's a glossary on the menu back with descriptions). Wanting to try something unique we opted for a sweet plantain chicken & cheese casserole and pulled pork trifongo. Both were excellent and we could taste the different ingredients as they blended well. Fresh ingredients, good service, clean tables (including leaf shaped table mats) were noticeable. The food was amazing! VERY authentic, the cachapas was delicious, a unique blend of sweet and savory flavor and I'm a sucker for anything with Oaxaca cheese! The arepas are very flavorful and I recommend the one with beef, beans and queso fresco. We stopped by the restaurant for lunch on our way traveling through the area. It was an absolute gem and great find! The menu was huge and contained a lot of descriptions of Venezuelan food. We ordered a variety of food - arepas, plantains, yuca, and more - and it was all absolutely fantastic. Like mouth watering delicious. It's a sit down restaurant that is decorated so beautifully. The place was very neat and clean. Good selection of entrees. Nice to have the dishes explained right in the menu. This is family run, with one of the waitstaff referring to the chef as "Mom." After everyone was served, owner/chef/Mom came out into the dining room to visit with the patrons and see how everyone liked their meals. A wonderful lady. Very flavorful food. The service felt relaxed but who wants to always be in a hurry? The food was well worth the wait. (We were there about an hour total.) It was our waitress's first day working there and our check was a bit off. No worries, after pointing it out it was quickly corrected. We hope to stop in again on our way back through. I was blown away when I was checking for restaurant for tonight's stop and saw a Puertorrican/Venezuelan place!! What?!?! I'm Puertorrican and I was in need of comfort food. We almost didn't go in because the place was empty, Man, am I glad we took a chance!! Amazing food, superb hospitality and the ambience was so homey and reminiscent of PR to me! We enjoyed Chef Nobel's recommendations tremendously! The Mofongo I had was amazing! Portions were large and the flamenco music touched my heart. We visit this area annually to camp, and have been delighted to find this excellent restaurant. Not particularly impressive from the outside, but inside is cute and immaculately clean. Service attentive and friendly. I always order arepas (because I love arepas), but the rest of the menu looks great. This time I ordered reina pepiado, basically chicken salad tucked inside a delicious arepa: great corn flavor, crispy exterior, moist interior. Just outstanding. My partner liked his as well (probably beef, I wasn't paying attention). No dessert this time, as we were stuffed from the arepas. Looking forward to next year's visit! read more

Rosa and her family are a breath of fresh air to the little old town of of Summersville. The food was absolutely amazing. Made fresh and came out hot.
