I tried their pecan tart and pear & custard tart, and both were absolutely amazing. They had such a natural, subtle sweetness that was mesmerizing. It wasn't overpowering or cloying at all; instead, there was this gentle aftertaste that lingered in my mouth, making me wish it would never go away. The pecan tart had a generous amount of pecans, and it was incredibly satisfying. The combination of the buttery pastry and all those pecans was just fantastic. They also had a great selection of meat pies, which I really wish I could have tried. Unfortunately, I already had dinner plans that day, so I had to pass. I definitely need to come back for the pies next time!

My partner got the latte and from the smell of it it seemed top notch! Also he said it was pretty damn special - so take his word for it guys :) So when hungover, time went by real slow for me. I was content sitting there spacing out and sipping on my OJ. Had I not been hungover though, I would have realized that 35 minutes went by and we didn't have our food yet. During that 35 minutes my partners coffee was long gone and 2 times that a waitresses came over she never offered him another coffee..! One of the waitresses came over extremely apologetic and promised us it was 5 mins away and admittedly they forgot about our order.. Dan was pretty dejected from this moment and wasn't very impressed with the place! They redeemed themselves though! Firstly they offered a second round of drinks on the house, and the food did come within 5 mins (notice that by the time we had our food we were now able to order the Reuben.. Dag nammit!) but the food was deeeeeelicous. It was beautifully presented and eggs were poached to perfection! We left there happy customers! So they had a rocky start, but we enjoyed the place and will come back (most likely after 1130 next time :))

Unique tasting, although I find myself missing the sweetness and the nutty, creamy intensity that usually comes from black sesame. But plus point for creativity. The staff here are terrific as well. The coffee to finish was excellent as well. Compliments to the barista. Good place. They're on top of things here.

There is enough space inside for a couple of small groups though we chose to sit in the back courtyard which is under cover and slightly heated. We were all given nice blankets for our laps too - always a nice touch. There is a full brunch menu with some great options if none of the freshly baked pastries are what you feel like eating. We went for the poached eggs with salad (looked great), the southern style chicken burger with fries (great burger) and a sweet orange and ricotta hot cakes with lemon curd butter, maple syrup and sweet dukkah. This was tasty and not overly sweet which is excellent. Coffee was strong and tasty, I think it was Supreme. We would definitely go back and I can see why it's such a local favorite.

I had a hard time making a choice today, everything that came out looked good and made it one of the longest decision making processes ever. In the end you can't go wrong with french toast and I highly recommend both the menu french toast and what ever special french toast they might have. They do it right!
