Opening in December The Source has buckets of almost every nut, dried fruit, seed, spice, cereal,…read moreoil, superfood and nibbly thing you can imagine. It's a very simple concept: decide on what to scoop, grab a paper bag and write the corresponding number on your paper bag If you like to mix up your own muesli you will have a blast here, you could create some pretty incredible combinations that would almost certainly guarantee you a super power. One my brief visit I noticed lots of the trendy foods - coconut sugar, cocoa nibs, mesquite powder, hemp and many more to pimp your green smoothie or raw foodie creation. There's plenty of cooking ingredients too -- flours, grains, pulses and pastas. Up the back there's oils including olive, macadamia, cold pressed sesame (I'll be all over this next time) and raw coconut oil. And pay a visit to the corner of chocolate goodness, they have carob and couverture to name a few, and there's plenty of fruit covered options so it's healthy right? I could go on all day, save me the bother and check it out! Oh and grab an energy ball for the road. You've earned it.

My new addiction - dried mango. YUM. The various protein balls are also delish and are rather…read morefilling without all the guilt of other snacks. Prices can add up pretty quick here but the quality is always excellent and the choice is amazing - nuts, fruit, flours, oats and everything in between. Mix and match your own combinations to create some kind of super food that will give you everlasting energy. Or just get that dried mango for a slightly sweeter hit. Staff are friendly and helpful to boot as well!

They have a good range of all of the above plus various yummy offering those with a sweet tooth. Such as chocolate covered stuff. Check out the range on their website. Nuts are always super fresh here and now I know I should be keeping nuts in the fridge for freshness. These is another location on the other side of town which I understand is larger.

Friday... decided to be careful not to drive past, rather, to stop and go have a look... Yes.. in our house - no nut allergies - we all love nuts.. I buy an assortment each week at COLES, but nice, now and then to get some interesting stuff, we might not have had for a while... or might not have tried before... Well, I spent $52 very very quickly - in about 5 mins - Aussie Peanuts, Aussie Macadamias, Aussie Sultanas, Greek Figs, Dark Choc Licorice Bullets, White Choc Raspberries, Dried Oregano, Dried Chives AND I found one of our favourite brands of black molasses and red raspberry LICORICE - "Black Rabbit"... WOW what a bonus..!! Everything I bought - all FRESH.. all GOOD.. except for the herbs, all EATEN.. The young man serving was really helpful - I could hear him answering all sorts of customer queries from "which dried apricots were kosher" to "what's the seasoning you put in a tajine recipe"... and also jotting down requests for 'not stocked' items to be sourced... The shop is squeaky clean.. well laid out.. up and down, with a centre aisle running down the middle and is seriously well stocked..!! Nicely pre-packed and labelled.. on the shelves: Nuts, shelled and unshelled, Pulses, Seeds, Dried Fruits, Dried Herbs, Spices, Sweets, Honey, Gourmet Jars & Packets and a good line of ORGANIC Dry Foodstuffs... Am sure to discover something new and interesting each time I go - It's one of those places.. Price is fair... I will definitely drop by, next time I pass... kinda sure this place will become a weekly fave... -They're a small shop, but do take eftpos and no surcharge on your credit card... -I think they're open 7 days a week - not sure of their hours... -There's a car park literally next door... Visited Friday 13th Nov 2015 for treats to take home.

Roasts, burgers, sausages, slices) and has a large selection of organic produce. If you want liquid aminos instead of soy, they stick three different brands, if you want textured soy to replace your mince meat, you can choose from four styles. As per all speciality shops they are pricey but hey that's what you get if you want to live longer. Vegan lip balm? No issues. Vegan chocolate snack? Of course. Gluten free is also a speciality with breads, pastas, sauces, frozen meals... The list goes on. My favourite haunt for stocking supplies.

Sunnybrook was smaller than I expected. I think it's because when I am told about a gluten-free and…read morehealth food supermarket, I automatically imagine something the size of Costco. So let's not quibble over size. It has a spectacular range of gluten-free, and other allergy and intolerance friendly foods. The kind of spectacular where one is overwhelmed for choice and sometimes have to go and have a sit down with a cup of tea and a biscuit (that you ask someone else to select for you). To top it off, there are naturopaths, a naturopathic dispensary, understanding staff and frequent promotional tastetestings on offer to help you find something to pacify your disagreeable digestion system. I can't really recommend a product, I would just say go with a full bank account and an empty freezer and come back with the reverse. Having bread that tastes like bread might be a simple pleasure, but it's one not often experienced by coeliacs and should be indulged in should the opportunity arise. At Sunnybrook, that opportunity doesn't so much arise, as leap up and hit you in the face.
