But not this one. They have everything you need if you're on a specialty diet, or if you're just following the crowd and doing it anyways. It's really handy if you need something on your way home from work as it's open until 7pm on weekdays. And it also has a brilliant community vibe that makes me want to always go there because I know I'm helping a local business. I'm always surprised with what I find there, they make my life a whole lot easier as I know I can go there and come out with everything I need to make a meal that I can enjoy.

I was also super happy to see one of the staples we keep in the fridge that isn't always easy to come by - Braggs all purpose seasoning - very similar to soy sauce but tastes 100 times better, and much healthier. They had several in stock, all 473 ml size selling for $11.16. I am going to have to see the price at my usual retailer, closer to home, for comparison. For those of you who might have Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar as their staple - a lot of people do and for good reason - this store sell the 946 ml bottles for $13.39. A worthy store for the locals.

I wasn't the bravest as they have heaps of unusual flavours incorporating kale etc. I however stuck with a classic energiser. As I was waiting for my smoothie I went for a wander around the store. Here they have a wide range of organic, vegan and gluten free alternatives to your usual food you'd find at your standard supermarket. They had everything from dairy products, cooking products, fresh fruit and veges, even cleaning products, hygiene products and much more. They even have a bunch of books and magazines with organic, vegan and gluten free recipes. I would love to come shop here more often, but after looking at the prices this is a very expensive way to live. However if you want to live on the extremely healthy side once and a while, I would recommend coming to the little in store café they have here. Conveniently located near a supermarket, post office, florist... it's a very handy place to stop in and pick up your naturally derived products. There's also a fruit and vege store owned by - I believe - the same people, just around the corner so you can also pick up your produce and free range eggs all in the same trip. Healthy, natural ingredients and no animal testing was my benchmark. The brands I know and love, (and HealthPost sell online) are Dr Hauschka, Living Nature and Jurilque. Now they only had products from Living Nature in the shop, but they do also stock a range of other brands I was unfamiliar with. Karen Murrell being one of them (great lipsticks discovered!). The shop had a small selection of organic food, lots or supplements, including a children's range and other various tea's and tonic's. This is a great farmers market in Hamilton on Sunday mornings. It's located toward the back of the…read moreClaudelands Arena area. There are a lot of things I love about this place. There is a playground within walking distance, so I can do some browsing an shopping while my husband takes the kids for a run. There are some coffee stands at the market, so you can show up bright and early at 8:00, pick-up a coffee and get to shopping. Some stalls only take cash, so it helps to brings some. But if you've forgotten, there is an EFTPOS cash-out area where you can get some. Many vendors to accept EFTPOS anyway (but I haven't seen any that take credit cards yet). If you haven't had breakfast, you can pick-up some pastries or other morning goodies, a smoothie or some blueberry ice cream (I'm sure it is a healthy breakfast option). In addition to produce, there are also vendors selling cakes/pastries, fresh/smoked fish, pies, and a handful of craft vendors. There are often two musical acts playing (one inside the barn and one outside). So far, my favorite vendor is Soggy Bottom meats. Absolutely hands down some of the best sausages I've ever had. They also have mince, burgers, pies and often, a long line because everyone knows about this local gem. So, bring your reusable grocery bag and head on down!
