Wendy & Steve put together a wonderful slice of Alaskan adventure. We had a group of 8, and truly enjoyed our 7 days at the Orca Adventure Lodge, and found it incredibly hard to leave. We fished the open ocean, outer Prince William Sound, and the inner Fjords, and caught Halibut, Ling Cod, Yellow Eye Rock Fish, Black Bass, Pink and Chum Salmon. We saw bears, seals, and seal otters.
It's not only fishing. We got to kayak a glacial lake to the Sheridan Glacier, and walked the wonderful little town of Cordova. The next time we go back, we want to tackle some of the hiking adventures and open water kayaking.
This is not a 5 star resort, The rooms while not too fancy were clean and comfortable. There are higher end rooms that face the sound, but we opted for the basic room, because it would be such a waste to just stay in the room.
Food was really good and the staff super friendly. There are great place to eat in town as well.
Boots and fishing equipment are supplied, but you will need your own rain gear. If you have your own hip boots or waders, I would recommend you bring yours, especially if you have unusual size. Another thing is rubber utility gloves to handle fish and protect your hands, and a multi tool to pull hooks would be helpful.
If you are looking for a 5 star adventure, you really got to give Wendy & Steve try. read more
