I absolutely love coming here, and I find it fun and the process satisfying somehow. The place is usually clean with decent instructions. If this is your first visit, make sure you identify the different settings and notice where the STOP button is before you Tap your card to START. There is a minimum charge of $7 and a maximum charge of $10, but I don't remember exactly how many minutes you get. You only get a maximum of 15 minutes in the space, so make sure you pull over or park on the street to towel dry your car if you run out of time. Give yourself an idea on what you want done in the limited amount of time. I personally like to Rinse, foam brush, and rinse at the least. There are additional settings to wax and etc. but that's up to you. read more

I was looking for a drive through car wash and this one popped up. It was close to my job and the prices are substantially cheaper than other carwashes. I went with only my phone to pay but unfortunately they currently do not have tap to pay. Luckily the owner Lane was there and offered other payment options. He thoroughly explained how the car wash works and was extremely kind and thoughtful. He was taking the time to chat and get to know his customers and takes great pride in his car wash. I've been coming here for years. I like how they have an automatic wash or a diy hand wash if that's what you prefer. Most of the time I do the automatic wash, it's about half the price of Quick Quack which is the main reason I come here. The wash isn't the greatest and I've been noticing a lot of soap is left over on the backside of my car. It really sucks that there isn't an attendant here to either give you a refund or let you go through again. Also, today I was using their vacuums, it's $2 for 4 minutes. It said I had 1 minute left before it shut off on its own. Not sure if I will be back here, it might be worth spending more money at Quick Quack for free unlimited vacuums and an attendant that will allow you to go through again if any soap is left over. read more

Stopped by for a fast wash and after a quick wait got my own bay. New for me, but I appreciated it, you are charged by the second so no wasted time. Brush was a lil beat up and the pressure wasn't great for the presoak but all in all car came out fine (I did not use the brush). I'd say for what it's worth, this is a decent DIY wash spot. I visited on 9/26/25 about 5:00 PM. The bay I was in had no soap being dispensed by the high pressure hose. I've been here before and the soap is pink. It was just water coming out, even on the soap settings for pre-wash and for high pressure soap. Very disappointing. There was no one on site I could talk to. So I ended up spending $10 to splash some water on my car. I hope in the future the soap levels will be better monitored so this doesn't happen to someone else. read more

It was my first time using this car wash and the process was a little bit of a struggle. The Door to the building was locked so you couldn't ask anyone for help. When I finished up the car wash the machine said it was 9 dollars for the car wash but I was charged 29 dollars. Which is crazy because I could've gotten a car wash somewhere else for 30 dollars. read more

Arrived at about 10:30am on a Friday morning with a car absolutely covered in bird poop. Free metered parking but under the wrong tree. YUCK! Checked Yelp for the closest car wash and away I went, slowly...because I could barely see out of the windshield. *gross Tokens. You need to buy tokens. There is a machine to give you change if you have a $10 or a $5. After $5 of scrubbing and washing my car was still in need of attention. Ugh. Here's where the 3/5 stars come in: There is no attendant on site. Okay, I get it. It's just a self-service type of place but I needed help. There are directions next to the car wash tools: turn the dial get the soap kind of thing. There is a drive through option as well. My first experience at Orbit was a mixed bag. The place had been recommended to me as an in-and-out, cheaper alternative to the endless lines or waits at more traditional full-service car washes, so I gave it a shot. Overall, the experience was chaotic and confusing. I pulled in on a Saturday (my first mistake) when they are apparently at peak traffic hours. The small lot was not designed for the amount of cars entering from any given direction on two side streets. I very quickly learned there was a lot of confusion around who was waiting for what stall to do the next wash, resulting in several horn-blasting, profanity-laced altercations. When I did pull into the stall, it was definitely a learn-as-you-go experience. Swipe a card, a meter starts running and then get to scrubbing and spraying. I was confused because there was soap that comes out of the spray hose, but there is also a soap scrub brush on the opposite wall that I only learned of when I was almost through. The meter capped out at $10, meaning I had to run my card again to finish off my SUV, all while other cars sat impatiently like sharks in shallow waters. There were also signs saying "15 minutes only" which was barely enough time to finish the process. All in all, it wasn't much cheaper, my car really didn't get cleaned thoroughly due to my lack of knowledge of the system, and it was too busy to enjoy the experience. I may come back and opt for the drive-thru car wash or try this again on a less busy weekday, but I'm in no rush. read more

For the last decade I've had a car with a spoiler that wasn't able to go through an automated carwash, or else the spoiler could get ripped off, so I've gotten pretty used to washing my car by hand. I can go through carwashes with my newest purchase, but somehow find myself going back to these self service car washes out of a combination of nostalgia and affordability. I wanted a shiny, clean car before visiting home for Thanksgiving and stopped by Orbit. The experience was inexpensive - maybe $5? - and I was had my car cleaned in just a handful of minutes. Most self-service car washes are fairly similar, and Orbit wasn't much different than what you'd expect. What really impressed me was that one of the folks working there (maybe the owner?) stopped over and helped me untangle one of the hoses while I was washing my car. It wasn't a big deal and something I could have done myself, but I appreciated the gesture, and it did save me a little bit of time on my car wash. It looks like they also have automated car washes, which look affordable, too, and start at just $8, with $12 being their deluxe version. Love this self serve car wash. You can choose whether you want to use a wand with or without a brush. There are many options on the control dial. (Wash, rinse, wax, spot free rinse, etc). It takes quarters to use. The vacuums work well and also take quarters. Great find in downtown Sac! read more

I don't know why this place has less than 5* reviews. It's a car wash establishment. Never had a problem with getting bills changed. Never had a problem using the wands or the vacuums. Never had a problem with lack of cleaning/wax agents in the cleaning bay wands. I can see if I had advanced arthritis or some other physical / mental disability I might have a problem washing my truck there but...it's not rocket science. People complain about prices?? It's Sacramento, it's run by idiots that tax and regulate things to death-that costs $$$$, if you want a super cheap car wash drive your car into the river or wait until it rains, that's free. read more

Used both tunnel and hand wash more than once - I was told "only the best materials are used". Tunnel left terrible-swirls and scratches all over my car. $6 to hand wash. Stall too small to fit both my car and myself simultaneously, which is.. an interesting business model. Also, I don't think they filter the water properly so it's like putting your car in a sand blaster. Do yourself a favor, save time, money, effort, swirls and paint damage - go to the touchless drive-through on West Capitol Avenue (west sac, just right over the bridge) - all automated, only $6, and your car looks hand washed & waxed as you sit inside! I really wanted a good nearby wash location but Orbit will not get another dime from me. "Lane" the owner is "LAME" (tee hee) he has no idea how to run a successful business or deal with damage (scratches down to primer & huge dent!) left on a car because of absolute negligence when paid for a full detail. He rudely gives you his insurance co info and rudely wants you off his property ASAP so no one notices what occurred. Not even an apology. In addition, definitely a very creep vibe goin on. The vacuum is so weak it doesn't pick up dirt. They switched to tokens, so bring exact change or ur stuck with more of those useless Chuck E. Cheese rounds mucking up your center console. If you chose to swipe your c card, be careful! The illogical interface may end up charging you $20 because you have no idea what its doing and your timer starts & it keeps charging till you hit more buttons vs default to minimum 4min & add more, if needed. I would not recommend using this self-serve car wash.... especially if you're going to use a credit card to pay their pricey rate. There is no option to get a receipt or record of the amount, when you press the green button to stop the counter that keeps counting up, once you swipe your credit card. I was over charged when I checked the credit card transaction online. DO NOT use their credit card payment system! Rather use quarters to pay for your car wash... it's a cheaper rate too! I went to this car wash right before a trip to Reno. I went through the automatic wash and about half way through the wash, the rotating brushes moved down my car to the back and went to come back up but instead got stuck. They were so close to my car the entire vehicle was vibrating. It did this for about 30 seconds. Then, instead of rinsing my car and activating the dryers, it completely shut off so I left the wash with a soapy vehicle. There is never anyone in the office they have there. There is a number to call if you have any issues so I called it and it's an answering service meaning I'm talking to someone in a cubicle somewhere with not familiarity with the car wash. They informed me that if I could wait there for 30 minutes that a tech would be out to service it and give me a refund. I waited for about 40 minutes before calling again, reaching a different person, and telling them I could no longer wait as I was on a break from work. They said someone would call me in the next 30 minutes to get the refund taken care of and to go finish my wash in the self wash. (Seriously). It's been almost two weeks and I still haven't heard anything. read more

Thank god I gave this place a try!!!! I come up from the Bay Area every weekend to visit my girlfriend. My car gets extremely dirty and I don't like going through automatic car washes as they scratch up my clear cloat. This place gets the job done for a cheap price relative to other places. The water gets filtered pretty well as I didn't have much water spots. My only complain is including more soaps, such as tire cleaners. And the vacuum sucks, no suction.
