So happy that this place is open again. As they were closed during the initial COVID phase, I explored other option. There is no one else in close proximity that I could find as clean, effective and friendly.

Going Green has never been so easy!! Why go there to recycle? I'll give you a long and short version just in case you're not in the mood to read my long winded dissertation on why they're so awesome, lol! Short Version: They're really friendly, helpful, fast and you get a lot of cash for your cans and bottles. Just drive up and hand them your bags and they'll do the rest! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mngKg08EhqlGWmdPs83NUg?select=tl0Sou3bnH5jFxMLX0DWbQ Where you pick up the cash after they're done weighing: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/mngKg08EhqlGWmdPs83NUg?select=ZHKLqtDIHZANPtFRtZDAhg Long Version: These guys help the environment and the community at the same time! I know its long, but I copy-pasted their Mission Statement from their website just because I'm really impressed with how much good they do. "The Orange County Conservation Corps serves young, at-risk adults through employment, training and educational programs that build self-sufficiency and benefit the community through conservation-related projects. The OCCC's approach to employability teaches teamwork and cooperation by utilizing work projects that are beneficial to the community and the environment by creating an atmosphere where corpsmembers have the chance to develop on an educational, professional and personal level." They are located in an industrial / construction sector of Irvine, but super easy to find. Working from a sorting table, they then place all your recyclables into bins for weighing. Just walk up to the shack and claim your good-deed prize money! This sure beats the Greenopolis Kiosks that used to be a Whole Foods Market!!

Ask the Community - Orange County Conservation Corps

Hello, I have a computer monitor, wonder if it can also be recycled?

This location is strictly for CRV bottles and cans. However, right around the corner (same street), is a recycling facility that I believe takes electronic equipment.

Do you accept #7 plastics for recycling?

If the beverage container has the “CA CRV” logo yes.

Do you accept crushed cans?

Yes if we can still see the CA CRV on them. They can’t be crushed by a packing machine in brink forms though.

Is the recycling center open?

Yes we have reopened. Tuesday - Sat 10am-4pm.

Have you reopened yet?

Hello, we’re reopening tomorrow. Please make sure you’re wearing a mask. In addition, we’re required to limit the amount of customers inside the fence area so please be patient if there’s a line. Thank you!

Is this center reopen for business?

No not yet, we’re working on reopening soon. I will update our Yelp page once we have a confirmed reopen date. Thank you.

Are you open?

Hello, unfortunately not. We hope to reopen in September if our site partner permits our opening.

Is this location still slated to open July 1st?

Hi Mondo, unfortunately, we are being instructed not to open in July. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but it's out of our control. Please contact Allan Company in Santa Ana (714) 641-8891 to redeem your beverage containers.

Hello. Is the place still closed?

Hello, yes the center is tentatively closed until July 1st due to an executive order by Waste Management. We’re sorry for the inconvenience but hope to be of service soon.

Hi is there a cycling center open now or closed because of coronavirus?

We’re currently closed until July 2nd, sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for recycling. You can try Allan Company in Santa Ana they might be open for business.

Do you receive toilet and washbasin?

Hello, no we don’t accept toilets or basins. you might want to contact your local waste hauler to recycle those items. Thanks

Do they accept beer bottles?

Yes all CRV is accepted at the center.

Do they accept cardboard? I just moved and need a place to recycle all of my cardboard boxes- my recycling container is too small.

No, your local waste hauler should be able to assist.

I had the most terrific service provided by your employee Carlos!…read moreHe went out of his way to help me find the information I needed with great communication skills. He followed up more than a couple of times, he was there when he said he would be, so very time conscious, responded very quickly, better than to be expected considering how busy he was and I could tell, the place was hopping and everybody was very kind, more than what I would consider to be excellent service. If every business could be this good, wow!, especially in these times. It was very refreshing to me after being so frustrated with everything I had been dealing with lately, and seemingly going to hell in a handbasket. I love you guys, especially Carlos! You guys are lucky to have an employee like him, I would hire him away from you if I was in need, he was that good! I'm sending everyone I ever speak with to you for a fantastic experience and to get a lesson in service, on how it's supposed to look and feel like. Great Job, keep it up!

It is so conveniently located and easy to pull-in and get out. They've finally reopened under new management and I couldn't be anymore enthused to recycle again. Today was a Sunday and I was excited to see they were open till 345p. I already had recyclables separated. The guy helping me was super nice and quickly weighed my three loaded trash cans. I asked if the recycle used batteries, but they do not. Still great they take many other materials including cardboard. The cashier was very friendly as we bonded over the time change. With that said, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Current CRV Rates: #1 Plastic $1.470 CRV Glass $0.102 Alum Cans $1.650 Highly recommended.
