I saw the one review by Jenny D. - bad customer service - and decided to ignore it. This was a mistake. Simply put the service was terrible when we turned up to collect the bikes. Everything - fitting bikes to riders,dealing with differences in deposit caused by international bank fees etc. was hard, it was my problem, it was done grudgingly. We were only provided with one pump and tube and special axle tool between four bikes. This proved to be inadequate as you will see below. We set off with our bikes on the train to ride the Ojos Negros rail trail as I had carefully explained months in advance and the shortcomings of the bikes became apparent. We had several punctures which were cause by a combination of two things. The rims were drilled for schrader valves but were supplied with presta tubes. This is not normally a problem, but in addition the Kenda tyres were a VERY BIG FIT for the rims, so there was inevitable tyre and tube creep resulting in torn out valves. By very big you could put your finger between the tyre and the rim, right through from one side to the other when the rest of the tyre was seated. So we destroyed four tubes in four days. In addition we had one rear derailleur blow up which can happen at any time if you are unlucky and a couple of other minor mech problems. It is worth saying that I am a very experienced rider and bike maintainer - I have and ride five bikes that I do all the building and maintenance on. OK, shit happens, but when we returned the bikes to the shop it was all our fault. We were blamed for everything. They charged us FULL RETAIL for the replacement parts. I wasn't listened to. A simple apology and a 10% discount on the parts would have seen me out the door somewhat satisfied but the guy in the shop was rude to the point of being aggressive. Don't make the mistake I made, hire your bikes somewhere else. If you want one more proof point, a few days later we hired four bikes from BikeBreaks in Girona and I have nothing but praise for them by comparison. read more

We found Orange Bikes via an internet search for bike hire in Valencia. Not recommended. The owner/manager is alarmingly rude and treated us (a family of six) extremely badly, including shouting at us after we politely declined to hire their bikes on hearing we needed to leave over €1000 security deposit. His exact words were 'we are not a charity'. A really shocking experience. Rude, rude, rude. If you want to hire bikes, head directly to valenciabikes.com for a much friendlier and professional service. You'll only need a passport as security. read more

seems yelp decided not to show my review on the main page, so to save all you future customers: (FYI u need to click see 6 flitered reviews in order to see my original review as well as another customer who agreed with me) DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR BIKE RENTALS! The salesperson (who I think was the owner) was extremely rude and belligerent. His offenses, in order, are the following: 1. He did not confirm a final price with me before charging my credit card. 2. I am of extremely short stature and asked for a bike that would fit accordingly. He assured me that all bikes would be fine. Of course, after riding for 10 minutes it was clear that this bike was way to big for me. We went back and replaced the bike for one that was more manageable but still subpar. We (my boyfriend and I) then requested our four hour rental time be reset to account for the lost time due to the ill fitting bike. The salesperson refused point blank and was extremely rude to us. He denied any wrong doing and essentially yelled us out of the store. 3. For the new bike he gave us, he forgot to give us the key that went to its lock. We then had to turn around and go back to the shop to request it, wasting even more of our limited 4 hr rental. 4. When we went back to the store, he asserted it was all our fault that we did not have the key. He begrudgingly gave the key over; however, that was not the end of it. He followed my boyfriend out of the store, GRABBED him by the shirt, and yelled at him. He closed this disgraceful performance by smacking my boyfriend on the chest. Obviously, this is unacceptable and no business owner should ever conduct himself in such a dishonest and unscrupulous way. We returned the bikes immediately and left. DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! Do not go to this place - there are a ton of other bike rental shops in the city that will be more than happy to accommodate you. read more

First of all I want to apologize for my English, Its not my first language (Im from Germany) but I think its good enough to explain some things... It is unbelievable how easy is to smear somebody as a bad person on the internet. But, luckily for this person, I was a witness of it. First, I want to make clear that Im just a customer of this shop, no more relationship with that business. I want to separate what I saw with my own eyes and what the owner of the shop told me, but. Ive got to say, what I was told fits exactly because I saw proof of it, like the contract with the starting time of the rental... The owner showed it to me after the scene that this couple made in the street. For professional reasons, Ive got to travel to Valencia one or two times every year, and I discovered Orange Bikes two years ago. I use to rent their bikes to make trips around the region, Via Verde Ojos Negros, down to the south on the coast, etc. The bikes are excellent, the maintenance is perfect, and they are very kind people, always helping me and my friends to have a nice experience, not just with the bikes, also with routes, places to stay, etc. This day, I have booked in advance two bikes to go away for a week, our flight was delayed and I rang then to tell them if they could wait a bit longer (they close at lunch time) to deliver our bikes. And he told me it was ok. Then I arrived to the shop and my friend forgot his credit card and I said "we dont want you to wait for longer..." and he said, dont worry, some customer forgot the key of the lock, Im going to wait a little bit longer to see if they find out they forgot it here, because I dont want to hear them again... I said, ok Im going to smoke outside, and I was just opposite to the shop, in a corner where the sun was shining. And then these people came, she was waiting outside with the two bikes on the pavement (without space for the pedestrians, by the way) and he came into the shop, and when he came out of the shop, and this is what this LIAR who wrote the review DOESNT mention, is the guy, once outside the shop, insulted to the owner saying to him "A**hole" in a very cocky way. Honestly, when the owner came out of the shop after him, he wasnt as cocky as he was a moment before. He just grabbed him by the t-shirt and asked him to say it again in his face... no reply. A police patrol watched the whole thing, and the couple were really lucky that the owner didnt want to make a complain about them and the police just warned them and tell them to get out of the pavement with the bikes. Two minutes later, the couple got into the shop and brought the bikes back and they left. I went in with when they left and I was surprised, the owner is a very kind and calm guy and I asked him what happened. This is the story so far... They came to rent two of the cheapest bikes and they want from the beginning special price and bla bla bla, First, Ive got say to the person who wrote the review that the first point is just ridiculous, because when you got to be charge in your credit card, there are two options, first introducing your secret PIN code, or second, sign the receipt, and in both situations, you SEE clearly what is going to be charge in your credit card, and if you dont agree, you just got to say it to the shop, and refuse the charge. Second, they always give you the best size frame for your height, and, as it says in the contract that you got to read and sign to finish the rental, youve got 15 or 20 minutes to check the bike is in perfect conditions, if its not like that, you can come back and tell them what you dont like and they change your bike, or adjust the seatpost or whatever. He told me that after 50 minutes!! They came back, telling them that the bike isnt the right size, and the owner agreed to change the bike, and they want this 50 minutes extended on the return time. Obviously, he didnt agree with it, and he showed me the starting time of the rental in the contract when he was explaining what happened with them, so, this person is lying again, it wasnt 10 minutes, it was almost an hour... Then, he gave them the keys of the new bike, but the owner told me that the guy was more interested in shouting at him than taking the bikes and go, and he forgot the key on the table... and he came back when I saw them, insulting to the owner. Sorry to make this that long, but I wanted to tell what happened, what I saw and what the owner told me, with visible proof supporting his version. read more
