Tourist trap, as expected. Do not waste your money here. Caesar salad was horrible and the crispy chicken on top was ice cold. Croque monsieur was far from authentic. Took 90 minutes for our entrees to arrive. Good spot to people watch outside, but you're better off going somewhere else if you want edible food. Just get a beer here and leave. read more

It is about 3.5 stars restaurant. Not yet 4 stars. The restaurant located on the busiest street in Avignon. This street has a lot of activity including Mary Go Around. We like the outdoor seating of the restaurant for this time of year. It is comfortable. We start with charcuterie plate with cold cut ham. It come with variety of meats, vegetables and pickles. I have the tuna steak and my wife have the seafood medley. My tuna steak was seared and top with mango salsa. The dish also come with rice and salad. My wife seafood is soup base. It has shrimp and mussels. Food is delicious. Service is good and easy close up. The restaurant interior is up scale for good dinner. read more

My husband and I went here for dinner on our last night in Avignon. We were not disappointed! Hubby ordered beef with pepper sauce and I ordered duck with pepper sauce. We both thought the food was fantastic. The duck was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The fries that come with the meal were also super yummy. Nice ambience. It occurs to me that I had been to this cafe two years before, the time when yelp wasn't prevalent in my country and me not knowing how to use it. Although things might be different, staff may change and under the circumstance of people having good virtue, knowing how to make amends after they did something bad, I still want to point out that this cafe has terrible service and some of the most arrogant servers I have ever seen, so bad that I barely remembered any "bon appetite" in the food I ordered that day. Despite arriving at the lunch cut-off, 2:30pm, we were able to score petit sales, beef carpaccio, beef Tartare and salmon/scallops skewers. The petit sales & beef Tartare were very good but the caparccio was mediocre & skewers OK. But the rose & efficient service redeemed it all. read more

First dinner in Avignon. The place is facing the main square (with street performers) nearby the Popes Palace. We ordered their special hamburger and the duck dish typical of south west France. Both unexpectedly very nice. The hamburger was tasty and the cheese on it was really good. The duck was very tender and the chips were homemade. Chocolate dessert at the end was really nice. The service was terrible. My friend accidentally dropped a knife when seating. So, she asked for a new one. The waiter just rolled his eyes and showed impatience. Also, we were four, but he just gave us a small bottle of water which was not enough. We had to ask for another one. Not professional. During the meal, we ran out of drinking water, so we needed a new one. No one took it to us even tho we told them to. Oh, and the food is just so-so. I don't think it is worth the money. read more

The food was reasonably priced and seasoned. The service was quick and amiable. We had the salad with tuna, olives, artichoke, froie gras on toast and other vegetables. The salad was nicely dressed and fresh. The escargot was paired nicely with a pesto. The mozerella and pesto and buffalo sauce was amazing. The mozzarella was very soft and the dressing for the tomatoes was nice and valences, not overpowering. The salmon was a bit bland. But the salmon was juicy and the cut of salmon was well prepared. The scallops were very oily, and the serving size was 5 pieces. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes. Not worth the price. Definitely try other i teams on the menu. read more

The lunch menu is affordable and good. I'm not a huge fan and felt like a poser when I have eaten here in the past.

A find on the Place de l'Horloge The central square in Avignon can feel rather bleak in March when the mistral is blowing, but this jolly cafe quickly restored our spirits. Decor in red and black, the place humming at Sunday lunchtime but a warm welcome and efficient service. No menu, but there was a dish of the day. House rose wine no more than OK but the overall experience was very positive. read more

Went for lunch on a weekday in the center square of Avignon. Prix Fixe lunches were a good value and excellent food. Would easily rate as 4 stars...but minus 1 for the snooty service. read more
