REVIEW ADVANCE Orthopedic and Sports Therapy…read more Looking for a rehabilitation program for an active life style? Look no further than ADVANCE Orthopedic and Sports Therapy in Lowell. Friendly staff and competent therapists greet and treat you. I was lucky enough to cross paths with Mitch Guttentag, a great therapist and a good listener. Unlike other therapists I have worked with, Mitch is a hands on kind of guy who stays in the exam room with you as you do the exercises and uses his own strength against you to help strengthen your muscles. I had developed a significant limp and severe pain in my right hip. I was diagnosed with bursitis and tendonitis by the Orthopedic Surgeon I saw. Mitch put me through a complex series of exercises and concluded that I must have a tear in one of my gluteus tendons. He suggested that an MRI be done to check his hypothesis. Sure enough he was right. I had a full thickness tear of the gluteus medius tendon, making it difficult for me to walk correctly. Mitch felt that all the rehabilitation in the world would not fix this problem, so therapy was discontinued. I am now scheduled for a surgical repair. You can be sure I will return to Mitch at ADVANCE Orthopedic and Sports Therapy after surgery for my rehabilitation. S. Willey
