I don't even necessarily care as much about the price....I go for the service. Everyone here is really nice and helpful and takes their time when dealing with customers. You truly get the feeling here that they care about helping and never try and rush you to a purchase or out the door after you've paid. I've also been really happy to come back every now and again and get little things like readjusting glasses or replacing nose parts done for free. Just happened to be here again yesterday and they even knew who I was after not being there for quite a while. This is how service should always be. If you're buying glasses and want a smaller place with employees who really care, I recommend spending the little bit extra, coming here and resting assured that you'll get wonderful service.

Everyone on the team was extremely helpful (and I am a pain in the a$$ when it comes to making up my mind). Everything through to purchase went smoothly. What I found best was the post-purchase service. I have been in the store a couple times to have the glasses adjusted and they never complained and were super happy to help. They always knew my name (I hadn't been there that often) and I walk by every day on my way home and get a greeting as I pass by. You can't beat this when it comes to service. The shop itself is nicely set up and is very modern. They have a good selection of both normal and fashion eyewear but tend to carry the higher-end designer. This is not Fielmann (thank god)! They're also pretty much in the middle of town so easy to find, right off the Neuer Wall. Oh, they have good coffee too while you wait if you have to.

The salesmen are very competent, they don't try to sell as fast as they can, they guide you through their product range. Of course they are more expensive than the notorious german discount chains, but the difference is smaller than you would think. At least one of the optometrists is able to speak english, so Kelb is probably the way to go for english speaking folks in Hamburg. You can get there by Subway. Take the U1 to Wandsbek Markt, follow the signs to Einkaufszentrum and take the stairs on the left side when you see the big Quarree sign. The store is 50m ahead on the right.
