Garddfon Inn - Seafood linguine

BOOK AHEAD TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!…read more Right this place is a bugger to find, and when you do you might think ''What... I came all this way for this?'' Situated near the water is this little welsh pub that serves food 12 -2.15 and reopens for 6.30pm. I have been coming here for years and its NEVER let me down. Inside reminds me of my late nans room, pokey and full of brass-ware .. at the far back of the pub lies a more refined dining area with white table cloths. You can sit either in the pub to soak some local welsh atmosphere or retreat to the back. Arriving at 12 on the dot, already there were a couple of locals having a pint. The barman greeted us warmly and offered to bring our drinks over while we browsed the menu. Here you can choose from the seafood specials board, lunch and their everyday menu. I highly recommend anything that has fish in it as it is all locally sourced... After much oomming and ahhing I settled on the seafood linguine and my companions had the crab fishcakes. When the food arrived I was happy. The amount of seafood in my dish was incredible. Small and large prawns, salmon, smoked haddock, scallops and mussels all swimming in a sea of fresh homemade pasta... the sauce was a flavoursome creamy white broth which was not too dense. Everything just tasted so fresh , even the crab fish cakes served with homemade chips. By the time we were half way through our meal the place was full..again if you want to come here you must book to save disappointment. The prices are really reasonable too, our meal came to about £40 for the three of us including drinks!. Overall the fact you have to book no matter what day, says it all,,

I miss the Inn, and I genuinely miss Wales and hope I go back soon. :) Thanks Garddfon Inn! You have an American friend !

We walked past this place while exploring the local area and decided to pay a visit - I would…read morerecommend booking as they're quite popular. They have an early bird offer Tue-Thur and up to 7:15pm Fri and Sat for only £15.95 for 2 courses or £19.95 for 3 courses. The food flavours were a nice difference from all the other modern European restaurants and fish and chips on offer. The menu explains that their chef is from Louisiana and so their menu is influenced by creole/Cajun/Caribbean/Mexican flavours. The restaurant looks small but they also have additional seating upstairs. As we were determined not to get too full this time so that we could sample some dessert this evening, we shared a starter of Cajun Crab Cakes with celeriac remoulade (like a nicer coleslaw). The crab cakes were lightly breadcrumbed and were small but quite heavy so the remoulade really complemented it, making the dish less stodgy. We were glad we shared a starter because we were also offered freshly baked bread rolls. For mains we went for the Cajun Lamb Rump and the Jerk Chicken and King Prawns. The lamb was also served with a little lamb samosa, maple charred lettuce an carrot puree which really brought the dish together. The lamb was served pink and the cajun spices were not overpowering. The chicken was moist and perfectly charred with a jerk and pineapple BBQ sauce that had a bit of a juicy kick to it! The prawns were sweet and the whole dish was just so delicious! We were full but decided to share a custard cream cheesecake which was light and not overly sweet so it was the perfect amount of fullness. I hope that now there's a Yelp review, more people go to support Phil and Lucy's great little restaurant.
