Beaver Lake has 3 paved hiking trails. All beautiful! Today I tried their Green Trail which is only two miles. The lake seems small but open for fishing. You must have your AL fishing license to fish here. Around the lake there is shade and there are plenty of picnic benches. The area also hosts a Disc Golf Course which seems pretty cool. Next to the lake they have two small playgrounds, trees and from what the signa state no dogs allowed but they are allowed on the trails which is weird because it passes by the lake area so idk. Nevertheless, they do have bags for proper poop disposal. I really enjoyed the lake and the trails around it, I cannot believe no one had ever even put it on yelp. Its pretty awesome!!! Falling Waters State Park initially felt a bit small when we arrived, but as we continued to…read moreexplore, we quickly realized it was much larger than we first assumed. Our first stop, of course, was the sinkholes and waterfall. While the waterfall itself felt a little underwhelming considering it's described as the highest waterfall in the state, the experience was still quite serene. Hearing the water drop, feeling the cool breeze from the running water, and simply pausing to take it all in made the stop worthwhile. We were a bit disappointed to find that parts of the trail system were closed off, which limited some of our planned exploration. That said, we kept walking and were able to find other trails to enjoy. We ended up wandering around for about two hours, though we know we didn't get to see everything the park has to offer. One of my favorite unexpected features was the dedicated bat habitat area, which was both interesting and unique. Overall, it's a peaceful park with more to discover than meets the eye, and a nice place to spend a couple of hours exploring nature.

I stopped here early in the morning before a day of business meetings in Ozark, Alabama and found this the perfect setting to walk and cleanse my soul and mind in preparation for the day. To walk through these woods and to stare out upon the lake, it is easy to forget that civilization is just up the road a ways, that you are mere minutes from the hustle and bustle if everyday life. Every time that I am up in Ozark, I try to find my way here. This park is one of the places that lingers within your soul long after you leave and makes you appreciate the sheer majesty of nature and of the gift of life.

We stayed at the campground and it was clean, and the hosts would pick up the trash at every site every morning. We liked that it had full hookups, we expected it to only have electricity and water. We didn't like that our RV campsite was very small and the position where the fence posts were located as well as the grill, that made it even harder to backup with our RV. We stayed on site 2, number 1 and 2 were the smallest ones we saw on our side. If we had known when we booked we had probable looked somewhere else. The bathrooms and showers were ver clean and nice but the building was cold.

Asked about cable told no we don't have that. Asked for a trail map told no we don't have any you have to print it yourself, we don't travel with a printer. No apologies, no concern, just an I don't care attitude. This is our first and last Alabama campground for us!!!

Also, I'll note that if you are as scared of snakes as I am this probably isn't the spot for you! The only reason to go out of your way to go here would maybe be for fishing - Im not a fishing expert but the boats out there were making some catches and seemed pretty happy about it.
