My (our) favourite shop in the whole of Scotland. We used to live in Partick and were frequent visitors of this oasis It kept us sane in a bustling city. If you come across this shop, afterwards it will always be your place to go to breathe and take in the calmness and beautiful energy. This little dream is easy to miss on Queen Margaret Drive. However if you are like me and are easily enticed my bright lilac paint and a cute window look then this place is for you. Its very small but is filled to the brim with different goodies! Personally i am an advocate to incense and so their collection of incense sticks; cones; holders; smokes boxes and spirals are my absolute heaven. I recently bought a hand crafted wooden smoke box that hold incense cones. They have around 12 different kinds of incense cone available in store and a little paper bag next to it so you can collect these sweet smelling drops as if you are a kid in a candy store. Today i ventured for Jamaica Spice; Camomile; Rose; Cinnamon and Blueberry. All of which are brightly coloured i mean come on who can say they are not enticed by vibrant coloured good smelling objects! Super cheap too, they have two cones for 15p which is an absolute bargain. They have a lovely selection of pillar candles in the most beautiful colours, i have had my eye on a teal coloured one for quite some time now. There is a large amount of crystals and gems and beautiful stones each with its own meaning. I like the black onyx stone because it's meant to protect you in times of stress (-: Huge range of books; dream catchers; statues; fairies and trinkets that i have yet to browse through but i rarely pass this shop without having a peek inside. If you are like me are worship anything that even resembles Stevie Nicks then this little beauty will be perfect for you. I have been a long time fan of everything magical as it makes the world seem that little bit more positive and so i can safely say that Opal Moon is my own paradise. Tucked away on Queen Margaret Drive, I didn't know it existed until today. Imagine my shock when I discovered it had been there for three years! Truly a gem of the west end, magical and spiritual, Opal Moon has a lot to offer for the inner mystic in you. Straight away in the door, I was greeted by the warm smell of incense and secondly greeted by the owner. Friendliness was afoot, and I had a wander around. Loads of trinkets, fairies, pixies (including a ceramic pixie and pug statue, which I found cute, disturbing and interesting all at the same time). Hand-painted incense burners, and a very inviting incense 'tower', which looked like the Washington Monument, covered in painted vines. Also, handpainted incense kit, which included a little elephant who holds an incense cone on his trunk, and a little place to hold your incense stick in his head. Plus the sticks and cones to go with it. Only £3.50! That is definately the next gift I am buying! Another plus for the mystics (or the wannabes), is the many crystals, stones and runes they had available, but most importantly was the legend for each, posted up on the wall. This one for protection, that one for health, etc. It can be easy to get confused, so very thoughtful of them to help us daftlings out. In case that isn't enough, two tall bookshelves filled with self-help books, books about fairies, tarot reading manuals and the like. Near the front window is a display of greeting cards, hand designed, for that unique touch for a birthday or anniversary. The owner was chatty and friendly. She seemed the type who would go out of her way to help. That's what I like in an independant. Have a visit. I dare you to come out of there empty handed! read more

I have a quote from their website that paints a pretty accurate image of the shop's vibe; "Invoke the magic of the fairies , & the blessings of the angels, with our beautiful statues, artwork & gifts" Hmm, It is all very pink and pretty and defiantly not a shop that I would shop in but I realise people have different tastes, if this sort of thing interests you this is probably a great shop but I don't particularly like it, the shop owner seemed really nice, even though she probably guessed immediately that I wasn't going to buy anything. read more

Probably my favourite shop in Glasgow. Each time I walk in it feels like I am stepping into my wardrobe into a different world (similar sizes actually). There is always a kind member of staff on who greets you warmly then leaves you to wonder around in peace. I always find something new and exciting in a hidden corner of the shop, and love trying out their wide variety of essential oils that they sell at a very reasonable price. They also have a gorgeous collection of stone and crystal jewellery. A must see for people with a magical side and open mind! Gem of the west end. read more

From a magical place where fairies and pixies dance flip floppily on the back of a mystical tortoise deep in the beginning of "a" universe beyond the toadstool of the humped back elder, the singing tree and the fleeting night sky....yeah. This is the kind of place that has me running for the nearest dose of reality and has my mother passing me running in the opposite direction waving an incense stick like a sword with only peaceful intent in mind. I love this shop and often refer to it as my spooky shop however there is nothing spooky about it. Im a huge crystal fan as i am never spoiled for choice here and the staff are really clued up and help me find what i want. Lots of lovely little gifts to chose from for the non spooky person too! Although small in size there is loads and loads of stock and also a wall behind the door with lots of flyers with local events going on. Please pay a visit you wont be dissapointed! read more

Slightly bizarrely placed on Queen Margaret Drive (come on, I can't be the only person who thinks this...) but then again, it's been here for 3 years - so I suppose it must be doing something right! I imagine that it pulls in the punters from quite a wide area - as I wasn't aware that Queen Margaret Drive was a new age hotspot! Advocate of fairies or not, I don't think even one of you could claim that this shop isn't a haven of nice-smelling things. They have a fabulous array of incense sticks all priced at 15p each. One of my favourite shops. Really nice staff and stocked full of candles, crystals, incense, and all that fun stuff. A very personal feel to the place, as though everything was picked especially for the store. Recommend to lovers of all things spiritual and mystical. read more

I absolutely love this little nook like shop. The staff were helpful but not too pushy & there was a lot of variety within each section. If I had only one complaint (and it is a small one) I felt the price of bags (velvet etc) was a little on the high side and not as much variety as I had seen in other categories. Other than that, I found the whole shopping experience to be wonderful and welcoming! read more
