If you're in Lucerne and you're looking for a bar to chill out at, you might want to look elsewhere if you're not a smoker and don't plan to have black lungs!! This is one of the few places where smoking indoors is still legal in Switzerland and people definitely love smoking inside when its freezing outdoors.
The music they were playing on a Monday night around 9 pm was main stream (ex. Tyga), and the bar tenders are attractive and young, but the prices are way too high for a bottle of beer. They were all priced roughly around 9-10 Swiss francs a beer, but then again, everything is more expensive in Switzerland in my opinion. I ordered the San Miguel and the bar tender decided to give me a Super Bock instead... at least it was something I've never tried before and I must say, it was not too bad. One unfortunate event that happened to us was when the bartender spilled my friend's beer while she was bringing them. I still think they should have given him one on the house.
The crowd was also really different from what you typically see in the states. The drinking age for beer is 16 so you would see some really young kids in the bar drinking. There were also a few older gentlemen there as well.
To be honest, I wouldn't come back to this bar again. There was nothing really special about it and the smoking was ultimately the deal breaker. You can find better bars with better views such as the roof top bar in the Hotel Monopol to go to if you decide to make a visit. read more
