Tucked away in the suburb of Kogarah is Sugarloaf Patisserie. This Place has a bit of Argentinian…read more/Chilean bent to it, offering a variety of pies, sweets and sandwiches and coffee too. I sometimes cross it on my way to the beach on the weekends. And what a perfect place to just stop and have a nice coffee with a little sweet something. They serve probably one of the best empanadas in Sydney. I particularly like the spinach and cheese one which is saucy and has that kick to it which is hard to describe. The service is good and the prices are quite cheap. I very much enjoyed their Churros too. Not that I am a fan of Churros but my hubby wanted to try the Churros with chocolate - and they turned out be light and sugary, yet were just melting in the mouth. They also have different yummy looking cakes on display which I am definitely going to try out of these days . You can give it a try too and we can share ideas on what to try next .

I don't quite know how to describe this place. It's almost like a South American family opened a patisserie and injected their own sweet Latino flair into everything. No, wait, that's exactly what it's like. Look at that, I did too know how to explain it. We're talking epic empanadas (meat & olive @ $4, yeahhh boiiii) and - wonder of wonders! - Argentinean-style soft cookies glued together with lashings of dulce de leche! YES WAY. Try their vanilla slice too. Better than those crap ones the school tuck shop served up every little lunch. Way better. I don't often have cause to get down the Shire these days, but Sugarloaf just gave me a brand spanker.

(Similar to my Surry Hills shop review)…read more Good old Bourke Street Cafe. If you live in Sydney east and you have never heard of this place; please start going out more! Located on 'Bourke Street'.... duh.... (actually there's also one on Gardeners Road as well, hence this review but they are basically the same! I go to both and I love'em both!!); it's an awesome Sat day brunch place with a few mates or actually nice enough to bring your better half for nice cup of coffee. Personally on a good Sunny Day, I wouldn't mind being there with a book while munching on a sausage roll. Yes Sausage rolls... You have to try them... they are not your Coles $5 for 30 rolls but gourmet lamb/beef/pork rolls which are superb. Their pies... oh mh.. their pies are sooo good! Always great variety, that you just gotta try them. Their dessert pastries are just divine as well! Ginger Brulee cannot be resisted! A must try - Carrot Cake! Believe me; you will love it! Great pastries; awesome coffee; love their smoothies/ice drinks; and excellent atmosphere. Imagine this. If can give a 5 star review to this place; purely based on Sausage rolls, carrot cakes; you know, simple stuff... how good it must have been! drools¬! Only down side - You really smell like pastry afterwards if you eat in.
