Heating was working very quietly and the room was warm and cozy considering it was 7 degrees outside. Pillows were nice but we didn't like the memory foam mattress. Some people may like it but it wasn't for us. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We will definetly consider them in the future while in Sault Ste Marie

The kitchenette was very clean but we didn't use anything other than the refrigerator. Biggest problem was the very small bathroom. Extremely cramped. Shower was very small and almost chlostrophobic. The sink was nearly unusable as it was placed in a very narrow spot and the bowl, although very modern, had a funny angle that made it difficult to get your hands or a washcloth into. The motel is in a good location for sightseeing. Sault Ste. Marie to the east and multiple lighthouses and waterfalls to the west. Overall this was a good stay.

This hotel was fine for an overnight while traveling. They had the cheapest pet rate in the Soo but…read moreit was still $30 per pet. Good: -The young man who checked me in had an excellent handle on customer service. Probably the best experience I've had in a long time. -The room was clean. -The hotel was close to everything. Bad: -The room was fine but AS SOON as the door opened even a little there was clouds of cigarette smoke everywhere. Lots of weed smoke from both rooms on each side. There are big are signs in the room prohibiting cigarette and marijuana smoking but the sign was as far as staff goes to stopping the problem. -The room was pretty run down (tape holding up ceiling tiles, outlets that didn't work, etc.) It is what it is. It's cheap and it's clean so the downsides were kind of acceptable.

Not a "five star hotel" by any means but works for those just passing through & has all the essentials so that's why I gave it 5 stars. Our room had 3 beds which was really nice for a family of 4 & the essentials included were ac, wifi, tv, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, shampoo/soap & hot shower with good pressure so, we really had no complaints. I will say u might want to bring your own pillows & maybe some blankets. Traffic does get a little loud outside the window & you can hear your "neighbors" through the walls but, we're pretty heavy sleepers so that didn't really bother us but I know it might bother some ppl which is why I mentioned it. In the morning we went to "Oh Crepe & Coffee" for breakfast which was really good so I'd highly recommend going there for breakfast since it's so close & an easy way to start your day in the Soo.

Location was right across from the locks which was very cool. Not the best viewing ability as the fence surrounding the locks is very long and very tall but you can still get a great view of the ships passing through. The room was adequate size. We stayed in one that was recently renovated and everything was very crisp, clean and comfortable. The nautical themed decor was well done. The AC is a window-unit style (fairly loud) but efficient, kept us comfortable during the hot spell (88° in the mid morning). The only reason for 4 stars was the bathroom - more specifically the shower. It takes several minutes for the water to begin to get warm. I had let it run for a full two minutes before deciding that it is just going to be a cold (extremely quick!) shower. After the squealing and swearing while rinsing shampoo and then conditioner from my hair, I noticed it did finally start to warm up. If my husband had showered first, I probably would've given 5 full stars.
