We were recently purchased a property listed by Orly Steinberg, and the experience was one of the most unprofessional real estate transactions we have ever encountered.
There were serious concerns regarding the property's marketing and disclosure information. The home was advertised as a 4 bedroom residence, yet information provided by the Ringwood Board of Health indicated the septic system was approved for only a 3 bedroom home. This is not a minor discrepancy, it is material information which can significantly impact a property's value, use, and marketability.
Because of this issue, we initially chose to terminate the transaction. However, after the seller's attorney reached out in an effort to salvage the deal, we proposed a $20,000 credit at closing which we felt was a reasonable solution.
What followed was shocking. Rather than handling the situation professionally, Orly Steinberg called our realtor and reacted with hostility and aggression. According to our agent, she became confrontational, raised her voice, referred to us in derogatory terms, stated that she did not want us living in Ringwood, and ultimately hung up during the conversation. This behavior was completely inappropriate and far below the standard one should expect from a licensed real estate professional.
Real estate transactions are often stressful, but professionals are expected to navigate challenges with composure, integrity, and respect. Instead, this situation turned into unnecessary conflict due to behavior which was emotional, combative, and entirely unproductive. Ultimately, her inability to handle a legitimate concern professionally has cost her clients $20,000!
Based on our experience, we would strongly caution anyone considering working with Orly Steinberg. Professionalism, clear communication, and sound judgment are essential qualities in a real estate representative, and unfortunately, those qualities were notably absent throughout this transaction, especially when she wasn't getting her way. Keller Williams should take a hard look at whether this is the type of conduct they want associated with their brand. Maybe it's time for her to retire. read more
