Surge staffing is such a warm friendly environment. As soon as I walked in I met a guy by the name…read moreof matt who greeted me with a smile and hello. He was super helpful in assisting me with the application process. I was so comfortable in the interview with him that it didn't even feel like one. I recommend anyone who is looking for work to reach out to matt.

SCAM ALERT!?! Terrible experience…read more "" This review is for the 3322 Memorial Pkwy SW #101, Huntsville, AL 35801 location. Yelp did not have it listed. "" There is a thin air of professionalism - but don't be fooled. They will put in very little effort on your behalf. I had major issues with paychecks being incorrect at a Blue Ray/DVD/CD disc producing/distributing company in Huntsville. I went to SURGE for help, as is the norm with a temp agency. They tried telling me that my check was abnormally small because the first paycheck is a week behind. Ridiculous! I insisted this didn't explain it. They did not understand my problem and I felt didn't really try. It almost seemed as though they already knew but we're covering it up. I went in with the math calculated out in several ways. They didn't ask to see the math - (the paper was in my hand as I referenced it and explained). They didn't contact the company to inquire. They didn't promise to investigate. The company was shorting me on hours and pay every week. Not paying overtime also. Paychecks come through SURGE. SURGE claims this has never happened before. I found out from a former employee that it isn't uncommon. Andrea at SURGE never mentioned that I could get a Payroll adjustment from the company. I didn't know they existed. I called the company, left messages. No response. Went there, filed adjustments for 26.5 hours total they shorted me (in just 1.5 months), 14 of which were overtime. They approved 4.25 hours. What a joke! I was essentially scammed and robbed by both SURGE and Technicolor/Cinram. SURGE CHARGED ME $26.50 FOR A DRUG TEST FEE, BUT NEVER TESTED ME. ALSO, AFTER I HAD ALREADY QUIT THE COMPANY (TECHNICOLOR), I got my last check...the lousy 4.25 hour "payroll adjustment". SURGE SUDDENLY DECIDED TO CHARGE ME NEARLY $14 FOR A "BACKGROUND CHECK FEE". I doubt they ever ran one. I got the sense they were annoyed by my persistence at trying to get to the bottom of the problem. It felt like they had something to hide and just wanted me to go away. Where do those missing monies from paychecks, drug tests and possibly even background checks go? Into their pockets, presumably. Is this incompetence, or something else? Are they preying on the ignorance and exasperation of the common factory worker? Hoping no one pursues the answers and instead moves on to look for fair pay? Is this a case of a shifty company using a shifty staffing firm? Are each aware of the others' transgressions, but willing to keep quiet in order to maximize profit and minimize effort? Who knows. *** Employee/employer disputes like these should be reported to the proper state agency. If your state doesn't have one (like Alabama), the U.S. Department of Labor is the agency that deals with them. CONTACT THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR WAGE AND HOUR DIVISION AND TELL YOUR STORY SO CROOKED AND/OR INCOMPETENT COMPANIES CAN'T CONTINUE HURTING AMERICAN AND MIGRANT WORKERS! LET'S GET THEM INVESTIGATED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT! Just run a web search for "U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division" to file a complaint - no matter your immigration status. I'm a reasonably intelligent American Citizen - how much more are they taking advantage of more vulnerable peoples? ***
