This center may be difficult to find because the address shows up as Arby's in Maps. It's actually right next to the Play It Again Sports to the left of Publix in the shopping center by the Lake Square Mall. Usually my iron is too low to donate blood, so I stopped trying for several years. Recently I started taking a really good iron supplement and decided to give it a shot with The Big Red Bus. My whole blood donation went perfectly, so I thought "why not try platelets" while I wait for my next whole blood donation. Keep in mind that it's a double-stick and you'll be sitting for two to three hours, unable to move, which is really taxing for people with restless body issues or ADHD. You'll probably feel extremely cold, but they have heating pads and blankets. You can also watch whatever you'd like on a personal TV with headphones (to oneblood: please get the extended versions of LotR lol).

Went in to do my donation today 9/7 and was sent to Medical AGAIN for the same bruise on my NON donation arm that I was just sent to medical LAST Monday for the same bruise. They need to teach people in vitals on how bruises heal. People get bruises usually any time they bump into something and when you are closing early and are taking new donors you don't waste people's time making them stand for 15-20 minutes just for a nurse to ask how did you get that bruise and having to tell a different nurse the same thing I did LAST Monday. I will NEVER come back all because of wasting my time for $44. Also maybe if they would learn to stop doing so much talking amongst themselves and do what they are being paid today and stop all the bitching about SO many people coming in to donate AND help people in need.
