This office got me locked out of iPledge by dragging their feet on labs then made me wait 30 days just to restart. After that? They rescheduled my next appointment an hour before it was supposed to happen and pushed me out another 25 days. That delay could've gotten me locked out again. No urgency. No accountability. Worse, they refused to send a proper prior auth for hospital-based labs, even after I gave them everything they needed. I begged for help for weeks. Staff were rude, dismissive, and downright discriminatory once I pushed back. Then they had the nerve to charge me a $50 no-show fee even though I'm a Medicaid patient (and no, you can't legally do that). I filed formal complaints with the Florida Department of Health and Medicaid. This place treats low-income patients like garbage. Advanced Dermatology should be ashamed of how this location is run.

The people at Cay West are always friendly and professional and don't seem overworked and aggravated. I was asked to step up to the desk within 10 minutes and another 5 minutes I was in the changing room prepping for my MRI, the ladies in the MRI area got right down to business, they made sure I was comfortable asked me a few routine questions and we got to work, total time less than an hour, perfect. The MRI technician who assisted me was especially kind, patient, and understanding. I experienced significant discomfort and anxiety during the visit, and she remained calm, supportive, and respectful throughout the process. She made sure I was positioned as comfortably as possible and treated me with genuine care and compassion. I also appreciated that my husband was allowed to be present before and after the scan, which helped me feel supported. However, my experience with billing and scheduling prior to the appointment was extremely frustrating. I was originally told the MRI would cost $258 and that I could pay at the appointment. Then the day before, I was told I had only a couple of hours to pay in full or my appointment would be canceled. During that time, I made over 20 calls trying to pay, and my husband also attempted multiple times. We were repeatedly routed to lines that were closed or disconnected despite posted business hours. When I finally reached someone, I was transferred back to the same non-working line. Another billing representative refused to assist, refused to transfer me to a supervisor, and disconnected the call. There was also confusion in pricing ($531 vs $516), and I was only then told the original $258 quote was per MRI, not the total. I ultimately paid $516 under pressure just to avoid cancellation. While the medical staff provided excellent care, the billing and communication process was disorganized, inconsistent, and unnecessarily stressful. I strongly recommend confirming all pricing and payment expectations in writing ahead of time.

Medical care here, has so far fallen short of what I was used to in Atlanta. One of my new doctors sent me to Radiology Regional for standard x-rays. Well .... ended up being not-so-bad. No longer eligible for a certain insurance-covered prophylactic low-dose CT scan in GA, the self-pay option was ridiculous. In the thousands of dollars. For the fun of it, I asked a receptionist at Radiology Regional what it would cost me without insurance. $179!!!! Sold! I've got mixed feelings about the personnel. Some are sort of gruff and a little snooty. Some are kind, bordering on friendly. But the bottom line is, they get the job done. And if you pay out-of-pocket, the rates are affordable.

What upset me most was not the delay -- it was the unprofessional behavior afterward. After I spoke to an employee, I could overhear comments being repeated and mocked to coworkers nearby. No patient should feel laughed at or talked about while simply trying to check in for a medical appointment. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and completely inappropriate in a healthcare setting. I was examened and released with instructions to see my primary physician for a follow up. My primary doctor was not available and I was seen by Melonie Santiago , P. A. at the Outpatient Center. P. A. Santiago was very patient and listened to all of my concerns and addressed each one in great detail. She made a couple of referrals to specialists for follow through visits to ensure that my health concerns were being monitored by doctors who specialized in the treatment for the medical issues that were of concern to me. P. A. Santiago Put me at ease with her demeanor, smile , tone and empathy all while maintaining a sense of professional decorum. I was super anxious prior to my visit after experiencing some odd symptoms that I had never experienced before. P. A. Santiago LISTENED to me and my concerns , unlike some of the other medical "professionals" with whom I have been interacting recently. Kudos to P. A. Santiago !! I felt so relieved after my visit with her and realized that I had spent 50 minutes with her in her office. I was so appreciative of her spending so much time with me allowing me to voice my concerns and of her understanding and explaining everything to me to my satisfaction. Also thankful that P. A. Santiago provided me with the 2 referrals to specialists who can continue providing me with the patient care necessary at this time. In my endeavor to cope with my anxiety I forgot to take photos.
