She'd refer to me by my deadname that she clearly saw made me extremely uncomfortable, repeatedly, loudly for everyone to hear. And then she went yelling out my deadname, repeatedly, out loud to the doctor, asking him if they can provide services for me. I was then refused services, because my Alberta health card had my deadname on it. And my new legal name is different. I left in an extremely distressed state. Some of the staff could've been a lot more tactful and educated in their behaviour and approach towards me. Even if they had to turn me down, it could be done a lot more differently and not led me to the distressed, dysphoria induced state that they led me to. It's the most ridiculous thing ever considering that they DO have a receptionist. They absolutely never ever return any voicemail. I saw Dr. Sue during most of my pregnancy. She is a very compassionate professional but I somehow felt less cared for than at Riley maternity clinic. She was also supposed to call to check on me after the delivery and never did. I know they get very busy but unsure why they would tell you that if they simply don't call. That clinic sounds a little like a walk-in clinic where they are very professional when you are there but forget about you the moment you leave the clinic. They also tell you that you can call or send them an email with any question you may have but won't ever pick up or respond to emails... I'll say go with Riley's instead.

I had my knees x-rayed at an office in the Eaton's Centre and paid the fee for that service. When I returned to the ornery receptionist at the X-ray clinic she referred me to her head office. When I called them and explained my situation the person there was extremely friendly and had my case already on file. I received a reimbursement check with no problems. You must use a credit card or have exact change. The building is well marked and has many services ranging from Rheumatology and Pain Clinics to a Grief Support Program. I had met with my…read morefamily Dr. on a few different occasions to talk with her about it, she helped by changing some prescriptions and trying some supplements. That just didn't seem to help the problem. so I decided to seek out someone who may be able to help me in a natural way, that was when a friend recommended Dr. Gaul. I was told by my friend that it was tough to get into see her, but when I called it was only a week wait. So that seemed like a good start to me! The receptionist sent me a 16 page client information form to fill out. It felt like I was writing a book about my life, everything from dental work to what my fears are! It was definitely the most in depth form I have or probably will ever fill out! I faxed it back to the office so that the Dr. had time to review it before our appointment. Finding the office was a bit difficult, the sign is hard to see. So I ended up parking a couple blocks away and walking to find it. There is a parking lot for the building, which I recommend using. The office is nice and dim, I felt very relaxed sitting in the waiting room. They have a little play area for kids. There is also lots of information around about the therapies they do at the clinic. You can even sign out some of the books they have. It was very quiet when I was there, I'm pretty sure I was the only patient. Dr. Gaul is very friendly, she introduced herself and we went into her office to chat. We talked for about an hour, going over my forms. At the end she seemed pretty confident she knew what the issues where and explained to me what she thought. She took me into another room to do an autonomic response test, which I can't really explain. She was testing the response of my organs, pretty much. After the test she talked with me about the recommended treatment and plan for the next 4 months. I can not say enough about how nice it was to have someone listen to me, I didn't feel like I was crazy for not having a physical illness causing my problems! I felt so comfortable with Dr. Gaul, she was very conversational! As a follow up I returned after my 4 months and my fatigue was still an issue. I had improvement in other areas of my health so I knew something was working. She did another test on me, this time related to emotional storage. She told me that she had never seen so many conflicting issues on all levels as I had. That kinda threw me for a loop! She chatted with me a bit, explaining what that meant and perhaps why I would have that going on. It began to make sense to me. She started me on a homeopathic treatment, layer by layer. She again seemed confident that we would sort things out soon. I have started the treatment and have been on it for 2.5 months now. It was a rough start, I was an emotional wreck for a few weeks, but I can honestly say that I feel better! I do really feel that after 4 years I am on the right track! All thanks to Dr. Gaul! The appointments are quite pricey, almost $300 for the initial visit, so this is an investment in ones health. Its not like you go back every month, so in retrospect it isn't bad. The supplements and homeopathic remedies are another expense, approx $50-75 a month for me, which I know could be worse. I highly recommend that people like me, who are starting to feel lost or like you are stuck, in regards to your health, should give Dr. Gaul a chance to help you. I myself know it was a good decision, maybe it will be for you too!
