Despite the name, this is a great place to go for craft beer, as well. In fact, this review is…read moreentirely based on the beer selection, because I am not much of a wine drinker, while I have bought beer from them often. I should start by saying that this store, size-wise is very small. With larger stores much closer to me (BevMo, Fairway) I would still rather purchase beer here almost any day of the week over the other larger locations, for two reasons. The first is selection: if you don'thave a lot of space, the selection is key. If you're going to sell craft beer well, you have to provide a wide range of options, and most of them have to be good! This is very much the case at Nicholas Roberts. The beers are definitely slanted towards American craft beers, with a few Belgian and UK options, but there is always something good to try. Local, regional, national, and a few imports are all represented on just a few shelves, and I am usually excited but what I can find: Horse River, Old Engine Oil, Cisco, Founders, etc. If you are like me, and you are constantly hung up at the bottle shop because of an overwhelming number of choicse, this N.R. has the solution: an excellent selection, in a very limited space. The other reason I keep coming back is the mixed sixpack, a venerable institution, largely neglected, or at least inappropriately implemented at other venues. N.R. does the mixed six justice, allowing nearly all of their beers to be included, and at a reasonable price. If I had a gripe, my one gripe would be that they don't have a lot of large bottles, mostly 12 oz'ers.

Absolutely love this place. I showed up a little after closing on a Friday and the manager Alex…read morewaved me inside and unlocked the door for me when I was reading their hours from the car. Really great service and a really diverse selection

Great new liquor store in Norwalk and within walking distance from many of the apartments off West…read moreAve. Not a huge wine selection, but they cover all the bases. Fantastic beer cooler, lots of craft beer and a great liquor selection. Layout is nice and simple and the prices are great! Nice, clean and bright, hopefully it stays that way!

Three Visits Over an Extended Period, Three Disappointing Experiences - Customer Service Matters!…read more Old Post Spirits 694 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06850 https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Old+Post+Spirits+694+West+Avenue+Norwalk+CT&utm_source=chatgpt.com I have been to this store only three times, and unfortunately, my experiences have gotten progressively worse. The first visit was just okay. During my second visit, the staff were somewhat rude, and the shelves were practically empty. I decided to give them one more chance, even though it had been about a year since my last visit. This third experience was by far the worst. I have rarely encountered such an unwelcoming attitude from people working in a retail business. I had two simple questions, and their responses and demeanor made me feel as though I was bothering them simply by asking. There was no warmth, no appreciation for my business, not even a simple "thank you" or "come again." In today's economy, people work hard for their money. When we choose to spend it at a local business, the least we should expect is basic courtesy and respect. Quite honestly, I walked out feeling foolish for having given this business another chance. I will not be returning. There are plenty of other smaller local businesses that would genuinely appreciate your patronage and make you feel welcome. A business shows you who they are through the way they treat their customers. Sometimes, you just need to believe what they show you. My money will be spent elsewhere.
