The Turkish bread is toasted to have a just right crisp with butter added. It already looks delicious on its own. Not to mention when they combine it with generous mouth watering fried bacon and a fried egg and BBQ sauce. It looks like they cook it with lots of love on it. My dad had the cuddle fish which he said had the perfect amount of seasoning. The coffee was so smooth and delicious I almost inhaled it. The presentation of all the dishes was appealing to look at and fit in with the overall feel of the cafe. Would recommend for a satisfying and unique cafe experience. Don't be deterred by the fact that The Block is part of the local backpackers hostel. If I've learnt anything from country towns the most bizarre place can surprise you. Being from "the big smoke" it's nice to come to a place that serves actual coffee! They brew Campos beans and it's made expertly by the baristas. Their brunch is also the best in town, served up until 11am. The Eggs Benedict is my personal favourite as they know how to make proper Hollandaise sauce, although I always ask for it on the side because they put too much on for my liking. There is a nice outdoor seating area which is the best place to sit because the inside can get a bit crowded with kids as there's a play corner. They do a lunch menu and a dinner menu but I haven't been there for either of those meals because the breakfast is just too good. You'll see a whole range of people at The Block from backpackers and tourists to local families and fishermen. Make sure you check it out when you come to Yamba!
