I am writing this review so that anyone considering hiring Nice Shot Films and its owner, David, is…read morefully aware of my experience. When we first met David while planning our February 2025 wedding, we were genuinely excited. He came across as personable, professional, and confident in his ability to deliver exactly what we wanted. He met with us multiple times, often alongside our wedding planner, and repeatedly assured us that every important moment would be captured and produced. Based on those assurances, we hired him for 13 hours of coverage and paid for the extra time to ensure nothing would be missed. Unfortunately, our trust was misplaced. To his credit, the highlight reel he delivered was well produced. However, to this day, we still do not have the full wedding video we paid for. What he provided in place of a complete film was essentially the highlight reel with speeches added and a few scattered clips. It was nowhere near the full coverage we were promised. The most heartbreaking failure was the church ceremony video. The footage was practically unusable--the audio was never edited, leaving only raw microphone feed where the only sounds are my wife and me breathing or shuffling. It looked as though he set up a camera on a tripod and walked away. For a once-in-a-lifetime event, this was devastating. When we raised these concerns, David's proposed resolution was troubling. He offered to refund our money only if we accepted the raw footage without any independent review and agreed never to share our experience or leave a review. While at first it seemed fair that he was willing to refund us, the condition that we remain silent and accept potentially useless footage without outside verification left us deeply uneasy. Having already seen the quality of the church video, I wanted an independent video editor to confirm whether the rest of the footage was usable before making such a decision. David refused. This left us in a painful position: either accept a refund under restrictive conditions that silenced us and risk being left with unusable footage, or hold him accountable and lose any chance of recovery. For newlyweds relying on professionals to capture the most important day of their lives, this was not only disappointing but deeply unfair. Instead of being proud of our wedding and sharing it with family and friends, we are now forced to litigate this matter to obtain what is right. We only had one wedding, and the opportunity to properly preserve it was taken from us.

The beautiful photo galleries on Micaela Go's website speak to her abilities as an artist. With…read morethis review, I try to highlight the person behind the camera. My wife and I had the joy of working with Micaela and her partner, Chris, for our marriage ceremony in August 2023 at the Marin Civic Center. From our first online inquiry, we had an exploratory call with Micaela the same morning. She asked insightful questions and listened attentively, then Emailed us a draft schedule/flow for our photoshoot day. We sought private photos as a couple, followed by photos of our wedding ceremony. I explained that in the hour leading up to the ceremony, I needed to step away to arrange chairs and coordinate with my officiant. My wife, meanwhile, wanted a final photo of just our wedding cake at the reception (at a nearby restaurant). Micaela took everything in stride, reassuring me that every wish we had could come true without ever changing our budget. On the day of the shoot, my wife and I were running a few minutes late. Micaela helped put us at ease, like a long-time friend. Chris brought along a rolling cart to free our hands of belongings. Micaela found beautiful angles, highlighting us against the breathtaking architecture of the Civic Center. As the afternoon progressed and the sun shifted in the sky, she at times led us back to prior spots to catch follow up shots with the evolving light. In the hour between our private shoot and our ceremony, she and Chris captured candids of our family members as they trickled in. Micaela also coordinated with my officiant to help us determine the most photogenic placement of the chairs, relative to the backdrop. After the ceremony, Micaela stayed behind with us to capture countless additional family portraits. At the restaurant, they were only required to photograph our cake, yet they stayed longer and captured extra photos of the start of our reception dinner. Micaela's final work product was over 500 professionally edited photos and over 60 film captures, the latter providing a very unique "retro" look. We were so impressed with her warmth, her communicativeness, her technical and artistic proficiency, and her generosity to give us more than was required. We convey our highest thanks and recommendation.

We absolutely love our wedding video from Legacy Films! We had not planned to have a videographer,…read morebut one came with the wedding package for our venue and we debated seeing if we could get a discount to drop it from the package. But many of our friends had told us that a wedding video was a good idea because it helps you relive the day and see parts you would not be able to otherwise, and they were absolutely right! Mark did a wonderful job of capturing not just our ceremony, but some sweet moments during our pre-wedding photos, the cocktail hour, toasts and our first dances, and even a little bit of the open dancing before the end of his contracted time. The day passes by in a total blur of joy, so we are so glad to have this video which captures the beauty and joy of the day, and we get to see even more than we actually experienced. With COVID wedding pivoting compounding wedding expenses, we didn't say yes to some extra things Mark offered, but would encourage anyone in early planning stages to plan for the extra expenses of 1) videographer coverage of everything (our contracted time didn't cover our cake cutting and the open dancing, which seemed fine in theory ahead of time but now I wish I had footage of those things) 2) go for the assistant videographer! some of my favorite things about watching the video were all the things i wouldn't have been able to experience like what was happening while the guys were getting ready or seeing people connect at the cocktail hour. there could have been so much more of this if I'd said yes to an assistant for part of the time (and so appreciate Mark running around and working as hard as he did to give us what we did have!) 3) a highlight video. while i am so glad we have a full hour and twenty minute film of our special day, that's not what most family members will want to watch. so having a short highlight video to share with those who cannot come, especially these days, would have been a nice addition. I can of course only speak to Mark's work on our wedding video, but I would assume he would do an amazing job on any of the project types Legacy Films offers since he has a great eye and vision for storytelling.
