We hired on OnDemand Painters in the fall of 2021 and had the expectations that the project would not be completed until after the winter, since the paint would require warmer weather. In March the owner, Chris, contacted us and let us know that we were first on the schedule and he'd be able to do the job shortly. We had the project completed in the last couple of weeks in March and we thought they did a great job. Well within two weeks, our basement flooded and we came to the conclusion that our gutter system needed to be replaced. We hired a separate company to replace the gutters and during that process we found several issues that we were not aware of. 1) We made it very clear to Chris that we had some visibly rotten wood that we would need replaced before the new paint was done. He said that he could do that and would add it to the invoice. He replaced two pieces and his employee told us that all the rotten wood was replaced. During the gutter install, they had to remove a very large amount of rotten wood that was ignored and painted over. The gutter company also said it was clear that someone tried to make it appear fixed by applying an abundance of caulk (which was still wet since it wasn't warm enough when it was applied and now it bubbled). 2) We had the expectations that this was going to be a complete paint job that would last us for a very long time and it would be done properly. They painted over the downspouts but didn't remove them to paint behind them, which they never told us and we only found out because we had the gutters replaced. 3) On one side of the house we had rotten siding that was peeling and the employee peeled off the loose pieces and painted over the rotten siding. He said if we had issues to call him and he "guarantees his work". 4) I asked Chris to paint an extra exterior door which I would pay for. He said he'd "throw it in for 5 star reviews." 5) Chris didn't resolve anything and didn't care. We wouldn't have been aware of these issues if we hadn't had the gutters replaced. On paper, we were happy with Chris and his company but we are not happy that we were lied to and corners were clearly cut. Chris said they "Replaced what they thought was the best value that they could visibly see" and "we tried to do the best job for the money that we could". We never complained about money or the invoice. We made it very clear that we were willing to spend the money to have this done properly. If you decide to work with this company, they will decide what work is important and how much money you want to spend. Lastly, I know when I read negative reviews it seems like the person is just complaining nonstop and think the customer was just a negative person who would always complain. That's not us and initially we were happy but that changed quickly. I don't want this to be a "he said, she said" so I've uploaded supporting photos and also screenshots of the conversation with the owner so you can see how he decided to handle this situation, or lack there of. I've also submitted this to the BBB and urge anyone else that uses this company to check every piece of work that was discussed to make sure it was actually completed properly. read more

Chris and his team were amazing. Not only did they come to do the job four days earlier than we originally planned, but it took them less time than expected to finish the job. Our space look like a completely different house when OnDemand Painter St. Louis finished. While working, the painters made sure to cover all of our furniture and floors with tarps which made us feel like they cared about our home. Every employee was respectful, and they asked if we liked the job as they were working on it. They are a very trustworthy group and they made sure to lock up our house before they left each day. They even turned on the alarm system for us which we really appreciated. Chris was easy to communicate with and he made sure we were always on the same page before ending the conversation. I made a huge mistake with the fee for the service, and Chris was able to work with me to take care of the situation while still completing the job.I would definitely recommend him and his team to everyone. I've worked with a number of bad contractors over the years, and I'm happy to say that 6 Kids was not one of them. We contracted with them to paint our house after a bunch of repairs to our cedar shake siding, and they were able to work with the contractor that did the repairs so that we got powerwashed and painted immediately after the repairs were done and before any woodpeckers or other pests could damage the new wood. Chris the owner was extremely easy to communicate with, often answering emails within minutes, and the project lead of the crew that did the painting also kept us updated each day with the progress and timeline. The best part was not having to check up on his work, as he had great attention to detail and was proactive about scraping and sanding and reapplying paint where it was needed to make our house look its best. We purchased a house before we listed our house, so we needed to get ours on the market VERY quickly. We needed just a little bit of fresh paint here and there, some ceilings, some touch ups, etc. Chris the owner moved heaven and earth to squeeze us in and make it happen. Jake and Macy tackled our project and did a great job! The were super easy to work with, worked long into the night to finish the job in record time, and we felt very comfortable with them in our home. There was a slight mishap with some spilled paint on the carpet, a fluke accident, but Jake worked very quickly to clean it up and you'd never even know it happened. Chris did a fantastic job, checked in with us often to make sure all was going okay, and to make sure the job was finished to our satisfaction. We had one month to transform our newly purchased house before the movers shifted our belongings. With the exception of two bathrooms covered in wallpaper, Jarrod and his team touched every surface of my new home transforming its feel and increasing its value with a new modern design. Cream molding and doors were brought to bright white and outdated color schemes were made current. 98 gallons of paint was used and a million old anchor and nail holes filled... and I could not be more pleased with the results. Attention to detail and an amazing prep and clean up crew (thanks Jennifer) left my house feeling like a home.
