Am Ende haben Sie vielleicht auch diese Worte überzeugen können: "Wir sind gekommen um zu bleiben!" Von Beginn an haben wir nach diesem Leitsatz gearbeitet. Der Lockdown im Frühjahr 2020 hat uns aber deutlich gemacht, dass wir auch gekommen sind um unsere Träume zu leben. Seit diesem Moment entwickeln wir unsere Küche Schritt für Schritt weiter. Immer wieder versuchen wir vermeintlich nicht passende Komponenten miteinander zu kombinieren, so entstehen immer wieder neue Geschmacksexplosionen! Das ist der Anspruch den wir an uns selbst haben. A nice selection of wine by the glass is welcome surprise. I have eaten here twice, both times choosing items from their changing seasonal menu. I went there on a weekday evening. There day had been hot, and getting a cool drink was very pleasant. A piece of bread and olives were complimentary. The restaurant was not too busy, but many patrons were enjoying the outdoor seats. The menu was in German only, and the staff had very limited English (I searched their menu on their website beforehand and Google translated everything, so it was not a problem). I ordered one of the "Old Berlin" dishes, veal schnitzel with vegetables (Kalbsschnitzel "Gärtnerin"), which came fairly quickly, piping hot. The schnitzel was thin, fairly tender, with a pleasantly gritty and fine crumb. The meat was well seasoned and delicious with the potatoes. The vegetables were simply prepared (steamed, salt, oil), perhaps from a frozen mix. A good and filling dish, in a great neighbourhood restaurant deserving of loyalty.

There are also a few additional basic dishes that don't change throughout a year - for example Curry Wurst. The restaurant is self-service and you order directly from the cook. Portions are pretty big and you certainly will be full once you are done with your lunch. Everything I tried tastes solid but it's nothing special. Overall, the food is rather basic and sometimes a bit oily. For my taste, the dishes are a bit too heavy and I'd love to have some fresh vegetables as sides. Still, if you are working at Europarc Dreilinden and can't eat at the eBay café, then this place is certainly a good option - also as it's the only option next to McDonalds. Dishes are around 6-8 Euro, drinks are about 2 Euro. Interior is basic, staff endeavors to be friendly. Make sure to bring cash as they don't accept any card payment.
