I've used this car service many times for convenience since it's nearby but each time I'm reminded of why I shouldn't take them anymore. Today is probably the final straw. I will never use this car service again. They are always rude. They quoted me $40. When I arrived at my location, the driver said my total is $58 ($48 plus $10) because he took the tunnel which I never asked him to. He took it because he thought that would be faster without my consent. Nor did it get me there faster! read more

Called just a few minutes ago and asked for a taxi to a local spot. The owner/employee said that they were booked up until 7p. I said ok, seven would be fine. Silence. I asked, "So, do you want to give me a ride or not?" He said, "No." What the heck? I do know that they can not arbitrarily charge you one price and another something different. There's a regulated rate and get-in fee. Anyway, I am thankful. Who knows what kind of ride this would have been. Strange. read more

I had pretty bad experience with one of the drivers of the company. He was rude, insulted me and my mother, used foul language, and ultimately threatened me. I was talking to owner of the company and he promised to fire him. At this point I cannot recommend this company. read more

The worst car service. They were assigned by hospital to take my dad to surgery. They were late and I called to see where they were. They said they'd arrive in 10 minutes and arrived 20 minutes later. In total they were 40 minutes late picking us up for surgery... I've taken this car service multiple times to the airport. Each time I've felt disgusted and unsafe. Last time I remembered, all front seat drivers had to wear seat belts. Last time I remembered, it was a safety hazard for my seat belt to be broken. Last time I remembered, car service cars shouldn't smell like smoke and be adorned with disturbing graffiti or sunflower seeds. Absolutely disgusting. The drivers are also super rude. They will give you one price and change it later by telling you "the ten dollar tip isn't enough". I've always hated people who ask for more tip because I think I'm a fair tipper. If I feel like I gave you what I felt based on my experience then I don't think it should be argued. But even when you give more tip, they will still get angry and totally just sit like a heavy lump in their car and decide that because you gave them what they asked that they will leave all your bags of luggage in the back trunk for you to get yourself. And if you don't know how to close the door, they'll yell at you instead of closing the damn door themselves. Absolutely rude and disgusting. Crap, id give this place zero stars if I could but yelp likes to be nice and give them at least one. If you see these cars waiting for you outside the airport, pick something else- maybe a taxi. At least I've never heard a complaint from a taxi driver about how "poorly" I've tipped and their seat belts work...plus they take cards (absolute must for NYC)! read more

absolutely AMAZING!! Called them up at 5AM desperate to get to LGA from Bensonhurst asap. Guess what! I was drinking coffee in airport's starbucks in less than an hour later(usually it takes me about two hours to drive there)! I wasn't late for my flight and I'm very grateful to "On Time Car Service" for getting me there in the wink of an eye! In general above average. They have these interesting little televisions on the backs of the front passenger seat. The phone operators need better training though. If the caller gives the addresses a bit too fast, the operator should say something other than "Hey slow down." And if the caller pauses between addresses to give the operator time to write, the operator should have a line other than "Now what's the other address?" The operator should watch his tone, is what I'm trying to say. And the next time my voice comes across a bit too loud and the operator tells me to lower it, I'm going to bury the phone in his ass. read more

Called early one morning for a ride to the airport. The driver showed up at the time I requested and took me to LGA with no problems. I like how he gave me a flat rate to the airport because I'm sure the traffic we ran into would have bumped up my tab otherwise. Overall my driver was friendly and the cab was clean. My family is finally fed up with On Time for good, especially my grandparents. And my grandparents are sweet people who don't normally complain or get frustrated with the service industry, so for them to be this bothered after being loyal customers for so long, you know there's something wrong. What's been wrong exactly? They have new incredibly rude dispatchers, more cigar/cigarette-smelling cars, and are just overall gritty and disrespectful to their clients. You'd think they'd make some kind of effort to accommodate the people keeping them in business, you know? It's really gotten disgusting, and I'm in the process of trying to find a better service in the area to switch to. As far as I understand from one of my friends who used to drive for them until recently, ever since the management changed hands the place has been going downhill. I'll believe it. Had a family emergency in Suffolk county Long Island. Called other car services and they were expensive. Also the other car services were not very willing to make this long trip. Called On Time Car Service and was pleasantly surprised at the price. This was a last minute car ride at 8pm. They showed up in 15 minutes and they called us back to make sure we knew they were on way. The car was well marked and his license was on display. And yes they have an iPad for the back seat. Our driver, Leny, a quiet gentleman, was a great driver. If you know the roads on Long Island, it can be a parking lot. Leny used his GPS and checked traffic so we avoided heavy traffic spots. Well Done Leny! Will use On Time Car Service again. read more

DISGUSTING.... the drivers all drive like they don't know how to and the dispatcher are RUDE. I was drivin my own car and the driver with the number 22 on the car came right next to me almost side swiped me and then as I honked he drove away and stuck up the middle finger. I then called the number to let them know they hired a maniac, in which the dispatcher told me i probably deserved it and I probably cut him off and hung up. Not only did I nearly miss my flight, my life was in danger. I called for a cab to LGA day before. The cab shows up 15 minutes late. I get in and the driver doesn't drive, but he's fiddling with his russian GPS. I realize he doesn't know how to get to Laguardia airport! After 5 minutes of trying to work the GPS and failing, I exclaim "please, just drive, I know how to get there. I'm going to miss my flight." And he wouldn't budge til he finally realized he couldnt work his GPS. As we get to the BQE his phone rings, and he stops in the middle of the HIGHWAY to try to pick up his cellphone from his jacket pocket and causes, I kid you not, a car accident behind him, after a car slams on the brakes and bumps into us--barely demolishing his car. I shouted "what the hell are you doing:!!!" And he just ignores me and keeps driving, leaving the mess behind us. At this point I'm fearing for my life, thankfully LGA was 5 min away, but when we get there he freaking missed my terminal, and doesnt have a receipt for me. I'm reporting this company to the Better Business Bureu-- if anyone else has had a similar experience please report or sue them. read more

Rude. Rude. RUDE. Don't ever take them!!! If there was an option of giving out zero stars, this is what I would give them. I reluctantly started using them when I moved into the neighborhood (I used to use a way more reliable one in my old neighborhood). Bunch of hit and misses. A lot of times, however, they would be late. At least live up to your name, "On Time!" Dispatcher also gave me an attitude. Sadly, any other car services I tried calling, they wouldn't pick up their phones... It wasn't until this winter that was the last straw. I had no choice but to take a car because it was a blizzard out there and I had to go to work regardless. I've taken them this entire winter sofar and not a huge problem each time I took them. I take them this time and when I get to my job, they tell me $25. Uhh. NOT what you told me on the phone. Their excuse: it's bad weather, they risk their lives, twice the time, etc. I don't care, it's ILLEGAL. I fought with the driver AND the dispatcher (who was on the phone). After fighting, I reluctantly gave them the money. They told me to never call them again (were they serious? No idea. Still, though!) Do you want a rude dispatcher, rude drivers (some were nice, won't lie), and late arrivals? Take them. Do you want to be taken advantage of by being money gouged because of bad weather? Take them. DANGEROUS DRIVER! Was told he was being fired the very day I complained due to many OTHER complaints but, you can imagine how I felt when he showed up at my door 2 days later after I told the dispatcher they had better not send the same driver (had his name and I had a feeling that they did not fire him)!! Driver did not drive over 20 miles per hour - mostly 15 mph even on the highway and even in the fast lane (this is not an exaggeration). He was not responsive to polite comments asking if he was ok. I thought that he might be going into a diabetic coma. At my earliest chance I got out (ran out) of the car way, after tossing him money, before my stop out of fear (as there was other behavior that I deemed problematic). First off, the driver, Livi, was 10 minutes late which wasnt a big deal but normally i would expect a cheery, apologetic greeting considering. Instead he was gruff and didnt know where our destination was nor the price that was discussed with the dispatcher. He curtly asked what company, and when i didnt understand what he meant he got irritaded and spoke rudely. Then he became angry when I asked if he takes credit card (he is the first taxi driver I have had who didnt), then he stops the car in the middle of the road to turn around and yell at me while cars are honking because I asked him if he takes euros or would mind me going to get cash at an atm. When I came back with the money I figured he would rather have exact change, so I started pulling out dollar coins and again he starts yelling at me for wanting to give him coins. I tried to apologize and give him just bills but he wasnt done yelling and throwing my luggage out of his car. When he finally finished, he asked me how much change I wanted and informed me I had to give him a tip. In the end he gave me my change but not without alot of yelling. read more

This car service is HORRIBLE. I am a student in Brooklyn and needed a way to get to class. Unfortunately, I picked this service. They are almost never "on time." The drivers are Russian and barely speak English. They blast their Russian music and radio while driving and talk on cellphones in Russian. I requested a car home from school and they told me no problem. The car was still not there 30 minutes after the time I requested, leaving me standing outside. When he did show up, he only spoke in Russian and was mad that I didn't speak it. After a scary ride home, when I asked him for change, he turned to me in a nasty tone and said "For what?!" He expected me to tell him to keep my change? After arriving 30+ minutes late? DREAM ON. NEVER AGAIN. Not worth the aggravation. read more

I called and asked for a car at 4pm. 4pm comes around, and a cab is waiting outside, so naturally I think it's from "On Time." 15 minutes later the dispatcher calls me and tells me the cab is outside, so I told him that there was already a cab that picked me up. He starts yelling and insults me by saying that if I was a Ukrainian, this wouldn't have happened, but I'm American and an idiot. i was skeptical about calling them but decided to try it because i live so close. i needed a car to jfk. they said they would be there in 5 min and they were. they were on time. the car is ok just that it smelled a little bit like cigarettes but it wasnt overwhelming. it cost me $25 to get to jfk from 11229. overall, i was happy. read more

i called late one night to get a car and they came right away, great. the driver didn't speak much English and was really creepy the ride should have taken about 20min but ended up being almost 40. he asked me if i live here or where i was going and then he said his phone was not working and if i could call his phone from mine.at one point he either got lost or took a wrong turn and started slowing down in a really dark neighborhood he asked me if I was sleeping and I said no I was just quiet, he said thats ok if I wanted to sleep and he commented on how this is a really dark place. I thought he was going to murder me. when I finally got there I just gave him money and told him to keep the change I just wanted to get the hell out of the car, i have never been so scared in all my life. never calling them again. read more

Horrible!! I called for a can at 5:30pm to pick me up for 7 to get to the airport. At 6:50 I called to double check and they had nothing available. I had to wait an additional 30 minutes to actually get a cab and call an additional 2 times. The dispatcher LIED to me said it will be there in 3 minutes and the car did not show for another 10. They did not do anything to justify the inconvenience. As well as I was late for my flight. Horrible!!! read more

Wouldn't use them again had horrible trip with them. Driver was rude and obnoxious, and even though his GPS kept on rerouting him and my phone running waze kept on rerouting him.
