Do not shop here, as the owners are lying, thieving crooks, which is even worse than how rude and nasty they are. Beware Jeff Stucker, who will not hesitate to take advantage of you and your family. I'm an American living abroad (previously of Asheville). A while back, I decided that I no longer needed the firearms I was keeping in my storage unit and so, during a trip to visit my family in America, decided to consign my remaining guns at On Target. I walked in with my wife and baby boy, explained I lived abroad, but that I wanted to consign the guns, and that the only issue we had to agree on was getting paid. It was agreed that any guns sold in the next few days would be paid out cash and the rest could be deposited in my account by ATM (we share the same bank) or that he could send a check to my father in Virginia. Jeff said no problem. Jeff sold several of the guns over the next three days and we picked up cash. Everything seemed fine. However, after we left the Asheville, just before we were to head out of the United States again, Jeff informed us another gun sold (a Makarov PM). However, now that we were out of reach of Asheville, Jeff's tune changed completely. He said that it was too much trouble to deposit the cash in the ATM (just 1.5 miles away). After much talk, Jeff did mail my father a check, but only wrote my last on it, not my first name (only the name "McDonel"), which my father had a terrible time cashing. I called and told him the problem, and he clearly said, with great impatience, that paying me (by either method previously agreed) was too much trouble for him. For the remaining two guns, a Keltec P3AT and an original and valuable Mauser K-98 from World War 2, no word at all. I tried making an expensive international call to him to ask about them, but when I said who I was, his staff said to wait on the line, and after half an hour, I gave up. I tried calling two more times and in the end, they were totally unwilling to speak to me. This was three years ago now. In the end, Mike and his wife literally stole those two guns from me. They did it because they knew they COULD, because they knew it was too hard for me to deal with them while out of the country. I never found out what happened to my guns, because they made sure it was impossible to communicate with them. Stay away. The Stuckers are untrustworthy liars and they won't hesitate to take advantage of you the way they took advantage of my family and I. They are people of the lowest quality and you should not do business with them. read more

I've been using On Target for a while now after being referred to them by a family friend. While the store is a bit hidden, I personal like the fact that it's not super easy to get to, as it gives a sense of privacy. While you do have to be mindful of who you are around, I've found all the staff at On Target to be knowledgeable and helpful. If there was something they didn't know, they stopped and looked it up to make sure the correct information was given about a product. I bought my personal sidearm through them. While the range on site is an indoor range and is a tight fit, I found it perfect for practicing in an environment more like that of a confined, urban setting verses that of a large and spacious outdoor rifle range. Range time gets pricey if you are not a member, but still is a great location to mix up your range time. read more

Just stopped in to check out the store and range with wife. Small but well stocked with rentals, ammo, supplies, accessories, and guns for purchase. We did not plan on purchasing anything but found such a great deal on a new handgun we just could not pass up. Staff was friendly and welcoming. If you have been to Gun Stores then you know how some of them can be. They treat you like crap and make you feel like they are doing you a favor just to let you in. This business is just about as good as it can get with staff and range. We did not use their range but it looked adequate. They even gave us a 3 month comp membership because we purchased a handgun. They have 2 new customers here. The only other Range we can recommend is Rex's in Hendersonville, NC. You can not go wrong with either of these. read more

Ok it's pretty bad when I hated this place so much that I actually took the time to download the yelp app. I love to shoot and have been to dozens of shooting ranges over the years. This place is absolutely terrible. There is zero ventilation or filtration in this range. If you what to shoot in a smoke filled cancer box then swing on by. They carry one brand of target ammo which is completely over priced as well. And the staff, well they were garbage. The guy running the range was an asshole who tried to said they don't have Internet prices on ammo. Punk bitch I work at a range your prices suck. If you wanna spend a bunch of money on cancer, a shitty taste in your mouth and cigarettes aren't your thing then stop in. You get the complementary crap service for free! read more

After hearing their manage "Niko" come out and say that he's "not a fan" of the people being able buy a handgun without kissing the ass if the sheriff and paying for permission, it's clear this place cares more about the money than it does your second amendment rights. PS...You STILL have to compete the background check to buy ANY firearm, so his bitching about him having to do extra work is moot. Find an FFL that supports your rights, not just profit from them. read more

I took my conceal carry license class here and Jeff did a great job instructing and making it fun. This is my favorite range in Asheville.
