I received a call from Ms. Sandy Knight regarding my resume posted on Monster.com. She said that her "Senior Vice President" wanted to talk to me about a job. On the phone, she would not tell me for which position they were interviewing. At the "interview", Mr. Michael Williams asked me questions as if for a job and then began a pretty forceful sales pitch for his "employment services". When I asked what the price was for his service or what he would do, he would not tell me and he insisted that it was impossible to get a job without help in Birmingham as it was the South, and that the "Good Ol' Boys' Network" still existed here. I feel like the entire process was bait and switch. I asked both Ms. Knight and Mr. Williams if Omnology was filling a position and was deflected each time. The true reason for scheduling people for "interviews" is to hard-sell the company's services. I did not appreciate it. At the "interview" Mr. Williams stated that he had been working with "this company" (meaning Omnology) for 17 years. Omnology is only 2 years old according to public record. He and Ms. Knight apparently worked together before and founded the company together according to information available online. read more
