One diner enjoyed the beet root and feta risotto, and the other three each order the grilled swordfish (see photos). Side dishes of salad and green bean were needed to supplement the main plate. We went straight to the main course - Smoked Salmon, Crispy Skin Chicken and a Beetroot Goats Cheese Salad. The salmon and chicken were both good but the beetroot salad was disappointing. It was insubstantial for a main size and the combination of beetroot, avocado, goats cheese and pumpkin purée made it too rich to enjoy. Thankfully I had ordered a side of asparagus which helped to fill me up and cut down the creaminess. Service seemed quite abrupt - they were smiling but didn't seem sincere. They didn't hurry us out, but weren't offering us more either - not even a second glass of wine, they just took the glasses away. Overall it was okay, but I've been to much nicer places in Martinborough.
