We booked our trip to Peru with Sandy. She was amazing. Very professional and what a trip. Once in…read morea lifetime experience! Everything went very smoothly and she booked for us: private top notch tours, fabulous 5 star hotels, representatives that met us at the airport, etc. We rec'd packing suggestions, info re: Peru, recommendations of restaurants, and lots of information to prepare for our trip. We had our 2 kids with us (ages 8 and 14) and everything arranged was just perfect for our family. HIGHLY recommend!

Sandy is a sleazy B-level travel agent with absolutely zero professional ethics and utter disregard…read morefor keeping to her own words. Do you agree ethics matter in business? If you do, then you will stay away from dealing with her. Here is what happened: We made connection with Sandy for one of our clients (Mr.D) during December 2015 for his trip to US. We found Sandy on her Virtuoso website, and worked with her to design Mr.D's travel plans. She did take care of our client, and she made a profit of close to $1000. At the time of closing the sale, early December, she agreed and she gave in writing that she would part with our 10% commission as a finder's fee. I kept in regular touch with her, and during mid-May, I confronted her as to why it's taking so long. And, then she exploded. She went into a crazy email rant about her business ethics and how the measly 10% commission doesn't matter to her because she is doing a great volume of business. Well, I thought, may be, there is a method behind the 'Sandy craziness', and she would keep her word. But, no, not in Sandy's case, because Sandy is all about skirting, and avoiding the issue as best as she can. Till date, we have reminded her multiple times, invoiced her, and even given our legal counsel address for mailing the check. A 10% commission on her profits equals $100 - is not a huge difference in the grand scheme of things. What matters is how Sandy treats her business clients/partners. As I stated earlier, princess Sandy feels written words don't make a difference as long as she has her way. I know Virtuoso agents are top notch, because we do work with a few of them. Having worked with other Virtuoso agents, none of them come close to Sandy, in terms of delivering the most disgusting and horrible experience that you can imagine. Just another "All Talk No Action" Star, no respect for other people's time, and values commitment like a toilet paper. ====== Response to her comment on 7/15: -------------------------------------------- As if --- Sandy would do the right thing! I saw her response, and .... YAWN!!!! She claims the address provided to her is incorrect, and bounced. Well, that's our legal counsel and as far as I can tell they are still there. Well, let's give her the benefit of doubt. May be she is right, and may be, I gave her the incorrect address, because I don't want to get paid. Right? Really? I have to be a genius to give an invalid address to collect payments owed to our business. After been in touch with Sandy for more than 6 months, we knew sleazy sandy will not deliver. Which is why we sent her an email invoice on May 26th with credit card instructions. What does Sandy do? Like any B-grade professional, ignore and go on to Yelp to put up a defense only misquoting again as to what happened.

Where do I begin?! Matt is an amazing resource to have in your pocket if you're planning a getaway!…read moreMy fiancé used Matt's services back in March to plan a surprise proposal in Fiji and Matt did not miss a single detail. From the air travel to the transfers over to our resort to everything in between, everything went perfectly without a hiccup. We arrived at the Fiji airport and were greeted by a gentleman who took us to our own private area to wait for our helicopter transfer to Tokoriki island! We received welcome necklaces (handmade by women in the village), fans, and bottled water. We were able to rest in privacy until it was time to catch our helicopter. We flew over the islands with one other couple before dropping them off at their resort and continuing on to our resort; Tokoriki Island Resort. The views were amazing and coming in on a helicopter is such an unreal experience. Matt didn't miss a single element when helping my fiancé plan, either. We happened to be visiting over my birthday and when arriving there was a beautiful "Happy Birthday, Kristen" writer in palms on our bed. We had the meal plan included in our stay and were able to book massages with spa multiples times a day! The resort is small and beautiful and everyone becomes family after the first afternoon there. When it was time to leave, once again, everything was perfectly laid out on our itinerary for us, all we had to do was follow it. Our resort shuttled us by boat to the ferry where we were brought to the main island. Once we arrived at the main island, Matt had a car scheduled that was waiting for us to transfer us over to the airport. We had all our tickets and items that were needed for traveling at our fingertips thanks to Matt! Easiest traveling experience we have ever had. If you're planning a big, eventful trip and don't want to be worried about missing a single detail, be sure to contact Matt at Sea Escape Travel! He will take amazing care of your and make sure all your wants and needs are met, ensuring the best vacation of your life!

While traveling, Matt was supportive of us when we contacted him abroad for a question or two - always friendly, professional and supportive. The trip was top-notch, and we attribute this to Matt's careful and attentive attention to our needs and planning details. Now home again in California, we've shared our top-notch experience with Matt at Sea Escape Travel with several friends who now want to go to AUS and work with Matt. We highly recommend this Agency.

The trip was just the right balance of excitement and feeling safe. Our guide was awesome and clearly an expert at navigating the river. Also highly recommend the campsite - nice flat sites and clean showers/bathrooms.

He had lots of knowledge about the California gold rush and it was nice to learn about it as an adult who didn't grow up in CA (I'm sure my 12yo loved learning about it too). While we camped at Earthtrek, it was super helpful that our trip included breakfast, 2 lunches (one lunch mid-rafting trip), and dinner. All meals were delicious and it was nice that there were gluten free options. The OARS site is spacious, with clean facilities, and a small shop for items. Now on to the rafting experience! For some background, my husband was the only one who had ever done it so my kiddo and I were newbies. Along with another kiddo and adult, we rafted through class 1-3 rapids and I never felt that we were not safe (despite me being the weakest swimmer in the family). Alec was truly a guide in every sense of the word. He prepped us before taking on the rapids - gave us the route we would take, what to expect in terms of how we were to paddle and what we had to do. We played some fun boat games and spent some time floating in the river which my husband and son loved. Also included were the always fun brain teaser riddles that had all of us entertained during the floating portions of our trip. After completing the class 3 rapids and all staying in the raft, we felt on top of the world and wanted to do more! If you have ever thought about trying white water rafting, do it - you won't regret it! It's truly an experience and a great time in nature with the family. OARS is a professional and inclusive company, with great guides!

I had family coming in from out of town and I wanted to show them what Northern Cali is all about…read more I love being active but I am still a newbie to SF so I wanted an experienced hiking guide to take us out and about. I Googled hiking tour and it took me to Escape travel tours website. I saw that there were 8-12 mile hikes and immediately thought that was a bit too much for me and my guests, so I emailed them to see if they could do any shorter hiking trips, and less difficult. I immediately got a response back from John the owner with a perfect idea for a day long hiking trip. Here was his email: K We just did a wonderful Best of Marin county hiking and sightseeing tour last Tue with a couple in their 50's and it was fantastic. Here is the itinerary. We can meet you at HWY 1 in Mill Valley at 101 and drive in our vehicle. Picnic lunch, map, digital pics and full narration included. Sightseeing tour with a Muir Woods/Mt Tam hiking tour 4-5 miles mixed in. We'll do a 15-20 min docent talk of Muir Woods, and walk around the top of mt tam with a picnic lunch and a 360 degree view of the entire bay area and a visit to stinson beach and a quick walk to the Muir Beach overlook. I will email you the photos I took soon from my iphone. Cheers and hike on... US NEWS article about us: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/health/articles/070527/4vacation.biking-sonoma.htm From there we agreed to the trip, held with a credit card and met him on time where we agreed. We were a little nervous at first since there were no previous ratings on yelp, but he has a vehicle with the travel tour company plastered all over it to make you feel comfortable, and when we met John he was very personable and didn't seem creepy or anything at all. He had some fruit and some water in the back of the car for us as well. As soon as we got in the car he started by telling us about his company and what the day would be like. He was an excellent driver on the windy mountain roads, which we really appreciated! I tend to get sick on those roads, but he was the best driver I have seen under those conditions. He also had a Honda pilot which I think handles curves well. He also mentioned he has a large passenger van for bigger tours as well. I won't go into the full detail of the whole trip, because I would be writing a while, but you can imagine the awesome sights, with a great tour guide, and a perfectly packed lunch and snacks for an affordable price. It was so nice to not have to drive and figure out where we were going. He also had a pass to Muir woods so our $5 admission was covered. John also took pics of us - prompted by us but also some by him, which we appreciated. He also taught us more about trees than we ever thought we would know. I hope this posting gets him some more business!! He mentioned he also does vacation tours, corporate tours, private biking tours, boat tours...basically everything, and he has been in business 10 years. His website should tell you what he does for other tours. We will definitely book Escape travel tours again!!!
