Always waited over 30 minutes for office visits. Not respectful for patients. Too many patients being booked is the reason.

I've only had one appointment with Dr Murad. He was very informative and listened to what I had to say. The front office personnel were very efficient and personable as was the nurse practitioner (who actually spent more time with me than the doctor!). All I can say is so far so good. read more

I was a patient of Dr Murad for several years. Due to Covid we had always met via Zoom. I never missed an appointment this entire time. This month we had an appointment but the office failed to tell me it was now an in-office visit. I would never have agreed to see him at that time in his office because my child comes home at that time. He is trying to charge me a $50 late fee although they failed to inform me. The office staff asked him to not charge me and he still insisted I get charged. You call that a caring doctor? I will never see a doctor this greedy and petty. read more

I'm afraid I cannot recommend this practitioner. I had thyroid cancer, but even though the removed nodule, according to the protocols, did not require treatment with radioactive iodine, Dr. Murad recommended I do it because he had another patient with the same size nodule who didn't do radioactive iodine and whose thyroid cancer returned. The doctor did not inform me of the risk of salivary gland damage that radioactive iodine can cause. Well, I did get salivary gland damage, and now I cannot eat dry foods like crackers or peanut butter. But the biggest problem is that, because I now do not have proper salivation, I get tons and tons of cavities, despite being prescribed high-fluoride toothpaste by my dentist. This has resulted in astronomical dental bills and a new cavity at least every two months. Had I known of this risk and because the protocols did not require radioactive iodine for my nodule size, I would have said no to the radioactive iodine and instead asked to be followed very carefully for cancer return. In addition to all of the above, the doctor has repeatedly ordered a test related to bone density called "collagen crosslinks." Even though I have told him that this test is not covered by Aetna because it is not considered proven effective, he continues to order it. I finally had to insist that the office reimburse me for $400 in charges for this test. Then the next lab order, thankfully, did not include a request for this test. So I didn't even think to look at the lab order after that, which AGAIN contained the collagen crosslinks lab that I have now also been billed for by Quest. The person in the office who handles the collagen crosslinks issue, Jacki (sp?), who I believe is an assistant, is appallingly slow at responding and addressing this error by Murad and his office. I will be switching to a new endocrinologist. read more

Awful experience . I hope the physician / dr Murad reads his reviews and understands the level of incompetency of his staff to communicate with patients. The lady named; Alexa , does her best to get rid of patients, she has zero skills of communication and v disrespectful ! I decided to choose another specialist from Stanford health ! read more

My long-time endocrinologist stopped taking my insurance and I was referred to Dr. Murad. I got an appointment almost immediately (a lucky cancellation) and my first visit to the office was a very good experience. Dr Murad asked a lot of questions, listened carefully, and ordered some relevant tests. I feel as if I'm in good hands! read more

Came to update- literally the fastest to work with. My pharmacy didn't let me know my rx was out so I asked for it when I was almost out. His office replied to the pharmacy's request before I even got to call! read more

Dr. Murad is an unprofessional narcissist who refused to order the labs requested by my referral. I merely asked if we could order an additional test in addition to the other labs he suggested, to which he replied "you clearly know more than me and I cannot work with you." He refused to speak with me further despite me clarifying I was only making a suggestion and was asking for clarification as to why he thought the additional lab was a bad idea. If it doesnt hurt and gives you more information, why not take it? Apparently because he has MRI vision and doesn't think it's necessary. It took 72 hours for them to process my information and they refused to schedule with me before my referral, insurance, and other documents had been processed. This is only to find out that there are no appointments for 4 months. Oh, but wait, my referral says URGENT on it. They didn't even read my referral! Finally I get a phone appointment and he calls 20 minutes late, to scold me when I ask why its a bad idea to get an MRI. read more

Dr. Murad told me to terminate my pregnancy following RAI treatment for Graves disease. He didn't have any personal experience with a patient carrying a baby to term or not. My baby was perfect. Dr. murad was nasty, condescending, and fired me as a patient when I had trouble remembering to take a new medication three times a day. He sent me a letter instead of telling me in person. All in all a terrible experience and a terrible physician. read more

Hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. He was so rude and condescending. He gave terrible advice and talked down to me the entire time. I had a horrible horrible experience with this arrogant doctor... he sent me for a bunch of tests - never followed up - then today DISMISSED ME because I asked a questions about the fasting. I have been a patient of Dr Murad's for 2 1/2 years. I think he is fantastic! He listens to your concerns and is willing to adapt treatment based on your response to medications, treatments, and concerns. When a medication gives you side effects, he doesn't just dismiss them but instead looks to find out if what you are experiencing is a known side effect. Once he has done the research he is not afraid to discuss other options including natural supplements. He is really the greatest Endocronologist I have worked with since my diagnosis over 15 years ago. I truly like is thoughtfulness and sincere approach. As for Dr Murad's medical staff....they are AWESOME! SO HELPFUL! read more

First of all, I was asked to show up 15 minutes before my appointment at 1pm and Dr. Murad shows up 15 minutes after 1pm. Not very professional. The receptionist/assistant/nurse who took my vitals was very nice but I was unimpressed by Dr. Murad. During the breakdown of my symptoms I could see from his blank stare that his mind was elsewhere. This was further evidenced by having to repeat several of my symptoms, several times throughout the appointment. Dr. Murad was a nice enough guy and we got along fine (even during our disagreements) but overall I was very disappointed with his service and feel he let his pride get in the way of providing me with uncompromised health care. Not only do I come from a family of physicians who I consulted, I did my research on my symptoms and I prepared for this visit with a list of several blood tests I was hoping to have performed. Dr. Murad flat out refused to sign off on half of my requests saying he was "not convinced." Even though the tests would be performed by a 3rd party and would be paid for by my insurance, Dr. Murad stubbornly refused my continued appeals in what was clearly a petty stand against a bruised ego. He was noticeably put off by my mention of family physicians and told me my "mom shouldn't be my doctor." Well she isn't, but just like I would trust a mechanic friend for advice on car repair I trust my family for advice on personal health. Overall Dr. Murad gave me inadequate health care because he was too proud to acknowledge the educated opinions of other professionals. I will not be coming back. read more

Dr Murad was the first Endocrinologist on my long list that actually took the time to listen to all I had to say about my life long battle with Hypothyroidism. He listened attentive and asked questions and validated my experience with my body that I know better how it functions when is treated with the right doses of the right medication He was also able to listen to my complains about other Doctors who didn't understand what happens to me when I am off the even little doses I need to take to have a functional body free of pain and other debilitating symptoms. He ordered more tests that any doctor had ordered to check everything that pertains to his specialty not only the TSH as other Doctors had done always, plus a comprehensive panel. He is sensitive and takes the time needed to get to know the client and his/her history not like the many previous Doctors I consulted over the years that only were interested on the test result and had no "time" to listen to how I actually felt with the medication they prescribed. I highly recommend Dr Murad if you are looking for a highly knowledgeable professional. read more

This was my first time going to Dr. Murad's office and I must say it was a really great appointment. I was able to make a walk-in appointment because of a recent cancellation and the doctor got to me about 5 minutes after my appointment time which is extremely fast for most offices! Dr. Murad was extremely professional and made sure that every question I had was answered. He even took the time to run to the gynecologist's office to ask a question for me about birth control! Rosie was also really great and friendly! Dr. Murad had mentioned he would find a dermatologist for me and right when I got home Rosie called to tell me they already found me a doctor and wanted to help me schedule an appointment!! This office really made me feel like I was flying first class because of all the care and attention they were giving me. I would recommend this office to anyone that is in need of an endocrinologist! Plus they have snacks in their break room for patients :) read more

I was a patient of Dr. Murad for several years for treatment of Graves Disease. The first few years were fine as I came to him with a stable treatment already in place and stable health. I saw him merely for checkups and script refills. On one Occasion he tried to attribute my Graves Disease symptoms to PTSD which I didn't agree with, but let it slide. A year and a half ago my health became unstable and I began experiencing intense symptoms. Even though I was having visible symptoms for several visits he refused to give me new medication until my bloodwork reflected a certain number outside of the normal range despite a clear shift in direction over several months. Because of his unwillingness to act preventively I became so sick that I could barely function. After I was prescribed medication by my GP I went back to him as I was still not feeling completely better. I was hoping that further testing could be done or medication change, but he refused offer any other treatment plans or possibilities. He again tried to link my serious physical symptoms reflected in blood work to my mental health. He then admitted that the endocrine field is limited and the was only trained to read four blood tests -- That he had no other knowledge or skills to offer in relation not thyroid related issues. Since, I've been to a different doctor who has many other treatment options and ideas. He acts preventatively and never tells me my illness is in my head. read more

This Dr. is creepy to say the least. He interrupted me often while I was trying to explain my issue to him. A friend told me that he is a troubled man who struggles with multiple addictions. What people do in their private lives is their business, but when a Dr. is high-strung in his speech and manner of managing the care of a patient, I would think twice about giving my care to such doctor. I am glad I did my own homework and got to have my direct experience. Not for me.... read more

I've never felt so disgusted w a Doctor in my life. He took his power of position and made me feel helpless. : ( He refused to write me a script for an insulin pump. He wouldn't listen to my explanation of symptoms and how I CANNOT control on injections anymore bc it's VERY inconvenient VS the pump. (Pumps help control but he thinks different.). Not meeting me half way to formulate a proper treatment plan. He wasn't "convinced" I know how to carb count for my insulin. : / ( I've had diabetes for 13 years! I do it all day, everyday. The pump is scientifically researched to control BS better.) He was worried about my insurance switching off in December and he wouldn't be accepting mine anymore. Seemed like he was pushing me out of his office bc of this reason. Also the pump he refers wasn't to my liking and he didn't seem to like that either. More like a business man, and not a medical practitioner. read more

"I feel incredibly lucky to have found you," is what I said to Dr. Murad at my last appointment. I actually found him through Yelp reviews! He is very easy to talk with and is thorough and un-rushed in appointments. He sent in an order for complete blood work and went over my results in detail. If I had put off seeing him, I would have ended up a very sick person in the near future. I have seen another endocrinologist and the difference in care is pretty profound. I had to bring my kids with me to the last appointment with Dr. Murad, and while the office is quiet and clean, they were really accommodating. There is a small kitchen off to the side for guests to help themselves to nuts, granola bar, water and coffee. This was great for my kids who love to be fed. The receptionist is really pleasant and my kids liked her. read more
