We had my 2nd appointment for "determination of findings" & my insurance info was given to them at the previous appointment. She must have not known I was aware of my plan with her approach. My insurance is expensive but it's a good plan with fixed co pays of $25. Her package was an attempt to collect for 24 which I have done packages in the past with previous Chiros but she was trying to tell me $900 for 24 sessions saying 1200 was the norm. I was puzzled & paused for a moment then asked if she had received my insurance? She had & she flipped to the next page where it said my $25 co pay fixed rate! Which would be $600 not $900! Um hello!? That is $300 more that you were just trying to get me to agree to! & I don't need to do any package if I truly wanted to just pay as I went at $25 a session! If you don't want to accept insurance please just do a favor for everyone & dont. There is no need to be so unprofessional. I tried to get over it but I could not bring myself to return. Luckily I found a new & honest Chiro that I am very happy with. He didn't even handle the $, his assistant did & right away the assistant knew my policy, no package talk & said "Wonderful $25 a visit!" Honesty is the best policy!

I went back for another session and she did more to enhance the treatment. Not only did she do basic acupuncture (with more needles this time, because I knew what to expect this time around), she also did cupping on me with no extra charge for the appointment. She's really about 'home care' and made sure to send me home with tinctures, probiotics and suggestions of things I could do myself to lead a healthier lifestyle. All in all both times were a great experience, and while right now going regularly for me isn't a necessity, I will definitely be back in the future. Note: Katherine's acupuncture business is in the building called Avenues of Heath, across the street from the Walgreen's and Kowalski's on Hennepin Ave. She shares the building with a couple of chiropractors and a massage therapist. After trying to tough it out I always call and make an appointment with Katherine. If the pain is really bad it might take a couple visits, but the moment the needles start going in I feel relief. When I've gone to the doctor for illnesses, they'll usually recommend some type or another of pharmaceutical and tell me, try this and see if it doesn't work. When I see Katherine she does pulse testing of her hand crafted herbal medicines to find out which medicine I need before I even leave the office. No guessing and hoping that there won't be side effects, just the plant medicines I need to get me up and going. Since I found out how fast she can help my back heal, I've gone to her for dozens of different health issues from cold and flu to stomach aches. Jessica French and Nancy Bierma are the people I see for this and both are so friendly and knowledgeable. They always have product recommendations and information if asked but are never pushy about buying products. They recently added a massage therapist to their practice and Ray Neil is AMAZING. My spouse and I have both had massages and have left every time feeling relaxed and/or had pain reduced. The pressure is definitely not too light and she is generally intuitive about what is needed (I have asked for a little more pressure once and it was PERFECT), plus she has some great techniques for stretching/loosening painful areas. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Appointments are super easy to book online; if an appointment time is not available, call to see if they have some appointment times that are not listed online. The officer managers are all friendly and helpful. They also have some lovely products onsite to buy if you're interested, and they will usually offer you a cup of herbal tea after your treatment. They also accept HealthParters and Cigna insurance for acupuncture, just in case you have those carriers and acupuncture is covered under your plan. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Crocus Hill Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. I am thankful to have found such a wonderful, relaxing, and healing place.
