The enforcers circle the lot and only this lot only. Went to go pick up my drinks, left a minute. Came back for a ticket. Looks like they stake out to check if drivers leave for a moment and ticket them right away. Watch them patrol the plaza, they don't leave, just circle the same plaza and watch. No chains and they all appear to be smaller locally owned and operated businesses. The driveway to the Plaza is shared with the Quick Stop gas station. Its the cheapest gas station in town and bargain hunters can sometimes line up and block the driveway on both sides. The parking spots up front for patrons here can be impossible to use if people in the gas station are waiting for their turn.

Come here any time in the day and it's not much better. A third rate grocery store, a thrift shop selling discarded goods for top dollar and a gym nobody ever heard about before. Why would anybody come here? Well, beside Sherwin Williams and the little bar that serves pizza no reason to besides EVgo. Turns out the best superchargers are the ones in the worst malls because they are always empty. The landing by Target is a more popular place - and I used to go the years ago before everybody started driving EVs. Not long ago I heard somebody pulling out a gun because somebody cut in line there. No worries here next to the research park. No lines no waiting no crazy people.

I attended the Inaugural Tequila & Mezcal festival in downtown Alameda…read more The event started on Alameda Avenue where ID's were checked, tickets were scanned, wristbands were provided and lanyards for the event that included a map of where to stop for drink tasting and snacks were provided. There were 15 stops within downtown Alameda surrounding Park Street to stop and try Tequila and Mezcal. Each stop, most of them were table set outside offered food to go with the tasting of alcohol. Of all the stops I was able to visit there were a few that stood out! At Tomatina the meatball was good. Daisy's had my favorite Tequila of night, Moxies offered a slice of tender beef covered with mole , La Penca Azul offered chicken flautas, La Lena offered chicken or corn tostados and Dragon Rouge offered potstickers and noodles. Everything we ate was good and I enjoyed getting to try many types of tequilas and mezcals, I'd never had. I'd definitely go again for a fun and festive outing!

And even if you're not here to shop, it's a great place to kick back for a while, seems like a good meet up place for people in this area. There are a mix of all types of businesses located inside and on the outside of this plaza, which also includes a paid parking garage underneath, with the centerpiece here being the water fountain, which is really cool. I always enjoy coming here when I'm in Oakland Chinatown, great vibe here!!

The largest one is on second floor where you can get dimsum and also Hong Kong Style dishes. We like to stop by to sit and relax and also get some roast pork and Char Siu from one of the restaurant. I think this is the one. it has library and also parking garage. the parking is $2 for 30 min. it is convenience and only about $1 more an hour compare to parking on the street.

Some of the lot behind the buildings is dark at night and I haven't seen security around in awhile so I'm always cautious about my belongings being stowed away ahead of time in my trunk/boot. But thankfully I've never had any problems of any kind. Remember there's one vehicle entrance that has traffic spikes so adhere to signage especially when you're driving out of the lot. Why four stars for the Square?? I remember coming to Foothill Square Shopping Center as a teen and there were very few redeeming qualities as I recall. I ventured here in the old days if another young family member needed hair supplies or a outfit from one of the local businesses. Even though the dollars were local it didn't offer a stable financial institution like the Wells Fargo or any semblance of fresh produce like the stock at FoodCo. I'm not a huge consumer of either business but at least the neighborhood has some access to the basic services without being forced to leave their residential area.

The remodeled shopping center looks great. Visually lots of upgrades and some much needed stores. The grocery store is particularly appreciated for nearby residents. I know certain neighborhoods can become food deserts where fast food junk is the only option. Security guards are around which is great. I've never had any issues with my cars while parked and at Bingo but I know a friend who has. I'm convinced it has to do with his fancy flashy car - a Camaro - it is just asking for attention. Sometimes attention can be good. Sometimes attention can be bad. Under some circumstances its best to be invisible. I think there is a Ross and a Devita blood dialysis place there. All places that are great to have in a mostly residential neighborhood.
