While Deb Kelly was very kind and treated us like family, initially giving a comfortable feeling…read morepurchasing our first home, my wife and I ultimately experienced too many issues which could have been very likely prevented with a stronger realtor presence determined to uphold the highest ethical standards. First and foremost, Deb informed my family that all home owner's association violations were fixed by the seller and cleared by the HOA prior to closing on the home, when in reality the bundle of violations were delivered to my family's doorstep post-closing with a short deadline to get them fixed. My wife and I were taken advantage of, given word of mouth that all violations were resolved without Deb actually attaining proof of such assurances. By giving this false word, the house sold on time with no forceful action to resolve the situation following the closing of the home. My family hopes the unethical behavior is not experienced by any future home buyers, and we advise to not blindly trust the integrity and commitment to buyers that realtors are assumed to uphold. Additional smaller issues should been avoided, but ultimately my family beard the burden. My family had to consistently ask if all house keys were present and accounted for so that we could ensure our safety while in the process of changing our door locks, and ultimately our home was broken into during the night shortly after closing. While we do not blame Deb for the break-in, realizing she could have not prevented such an action, ensuring proper accountability and changeover of all keys prior to closing would have alleviated the stress on my family of consistently trying to maintain awareness on the issue. Furthermore, garage door keys were not presented prior to closing, in which after the fact my family found out they do not work. The washer and dryer which were supposed to be removed from the home per the contract were left on the second floor of the house resulting in my father and I bearing the workload, removing them from the home ourselves. Even the sellers leaving old food in the fridge which was known to our realtor but never taken care of added to our frustration. While my family wishes Deb the best and emphasizes that she treated us very kindly, I would want future home buyers to experience a realtor who proactively settles situations and resolves issues with the upmost integrity and unquestionable commitment to the buyer in mind at all times.
