Hey ex-pats -- particularly you of the Irish/British variety -- owner Paul has just opened a…read morefantastic chip shop in the basement of Scruffy's! Good quality, great prices, and a pretty sweet location to eat at. (Also available para llevar.)
We went to watch the Ireland-France rugby yesterday, only partly to watch the rugby, and (if I'm being honest) mostly to try the chippy. We sampled the chicken nuggets, a sausage roll, a pastie, and of course a large order of "chips" (although as a heathen American I am inclined to call them french fries...) with curry sauce. YUM. And cheap -- nothing we ordered was more than 4€!
Also on the menu: scampi (langostines rebozados to you Spaniards!), classic battered cod (bacalao rebozado), as well as pickled gherkins, pickled eggs, pies, mushy pies, and more. Two soups to start and a (lone) delightful-sounding cheesecake to finish. "All in typical chip shop fashion," says Paul!
Eat in or take away on Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights, and during all the 6 Nations rugby matches.
