The venue is genuinely transportive--carrying you out of Spain and straight into the heart of Ireland. For a restaurant in Spain, the seating capacity is impressive, and the decor complements the atmosphere remarkably well. The food is solid, though not without a few shortcomings. The fish and chips were smaller and greasier than expected, and the chips with guacamole felt overpriced for the portion size. The Murphy's, however, was excellent. Great place to go to watch just about any game. Went for the Superbowl and was not disappointed by the number of different areas or screens. If you want to catch a game this is the spot with a very lively atmosphere and good drinks to match. read more

I gave my score after all was done to be fair! So far first impressions not the best, sat at the bar and waited 15 minutes before someone came over. Not busy at all! 7 people at the bar, 4 bartenders. The lead bartender came over and saw I was not happy. Really nice guy gave me head up on how they cook meats here in Madrid his team has to be on the same page. Rare means bloody, medium rare is rare for most. Good burger good drinks. Laid back atmosphere. Fairly authentic looking Irish joint with two floors and an outdoor deck. Couple of bar areas and a big screen for futbol watching. The Irish Rover Pub is a blast! My girlfriend and I stopped by here after dinner a few weeks ago just to get our night started and take some shots. I generally love Irish pubs and thought this place was so much fun! We got a few rounds of shots and well drinks and enjoyed the live music. There's a ton of seating comfy chairs and couches included and you can have good conversation here too. The live music was so fun and they play a variety of well-known songs. It's not a place to stay at the whole night in my opinion but such a great place to start out and get nice drinks. read more

Very chill, delicious pubby-American-style food--try the nachos, burgers (the onion one) and now their jalapeno poppers--and especially the great service. There's no cover for concerts, and their twice-a-year (on their anniversary mid-Nov & for St. Patricks) feature of The Colonials is can't miss. It being the biggest Irish bar in Madrid, including a big Terraza, it allows them to have other off-the-beaten path events, like Madrid's Tweet-Up.
