    "Golybci" Cabbage Rolls

Wow, hidden gem! Stopped in Columbus for one night during a road trip and was curious about trying Ukrainian food. This dinner was EXCELLENT! So comforting on a cold night and definitely made me feel warmer. Standout dish was the cabbage rolls, definitely try those! Borsch and the clay pot were good

I saw several posts about Olesya's Kitchen on Chowdown and thought I would try them out. They exceeded our expectations with both Service and deliciousness!! I had the beef zrazy with cheese and herbs (kind of like meatballs) with Mashed potatoes and Ukrainian gravy. My wife had the salmon creme sauce wrapped in bacon. Both were cooked to perfection. While we were dining there was large slices of honey cake staring at us from the cooler, so of course we had to take some home. A lunch for two may run to 60-70 bucks , but remember, you get what you pay for. Well worth an extra 10 or 20 dollars over average lunch fare. I added the pepper !!

This is a must visit place! Indiana's only Ukrainian restaurant is tucked away in Columbus, Indiana in a small but cozy strip mall storefront. Inside, there are a few tables you can sit at or you can order take out. Water is served with an orange infusion - so good! All the food is prepared in house and to-order. I had the potato dumplings and the Ukrainian National Clay Pot, which was a beautiful stew topped with a giant piece of bread. The flavors were just fantastic- the dumplings came with dill and sour cream to dip them in. The stew was pork, potatoes, carrots and hearty seasonings - comfort food at its finest. Piping hot too. I had plenty of leftovers for the next day! I absolutely recommend that you visit this gem about 35 - 40 minutes south of Indianapolis.

Visiting Columbus, IN, and we read about this Ukrainian restaurant, so we had lunch there. We tried the mushroom soup. It was flavorful but I didn't like the oil floating on top. Another diner got the borsch and that was really, really delicious. Both soups were served with a slice of a hearty bread. We tried 2 different dumplings, called vereunikas, maybe? Both were good. We had beef and also. potato. )They were out of both chicken and mushroom dumplings.) Both are served with sour cream and the beef had a smoky flavor that is to smoked paprika. Both yummy. One diner had the goulash on mashed potatoes and another had stroganoff on buckwheat groats. I tasted the goulash and it was very tasty; it had a sweetness to it along with a spicy taste. I didn't try the stroganoff but the diner who'd ordered it said it was good. We ordered the signature cabbage salad. We all thought it needed salt and that with the salt it was a nice crunchy salad. The place is small but cozy and clean. We never saw anyone but the nice young man who took our orders, served us and acted as cashier. Apparently they do a pretty good take out business. This was unique and tasty food. Our group of 5 enjoyed our meals and felt this place deserves more attention. Enjoy!

In an unassuming mini strip mall, in Columbus, Indiana, sits a restaurant of Ukrainian delights. We started with the Potato & Pork Vareniki (aka dumplings). Very tasty! We shared our entrees, the Ukrainian National Clay Pot and Beef Stroganoff (Ukrainian "Gulyash"). They were both so good, but if I had to pick a winner it was the Ukrainian National Clay Pot! We will definitely go back and get some frozen dumplings to bring home.

Get to Olesya's and get you some Beef Stoganoff! The cabbage rolls are good, and the pierogi-esque dumplings are nice, but that stroganoff is top tier. Way to bring the authentic Ukrainian food to Columbus, IN, Olesya's! I also want to shout out the service. When I went on a Friday night, there was only one person working who doubled as chef and server. She handled the crowd and even a dissatisfied customer with grace. I don't know what that person was thinking because all of the other patrons talked after she left, and we loved everything.

Everything is delicious! Always looking for unique cuisine, and this hit the spot! The Chicken Stroganoff with the cabbage salad that my daughter got is great. She and her friend loved it. The Ukrainian cabbage rolls are the most savory, tummy-pleasing yumminess that I needed and think about all the time. We unfortunately live too far away to eat here very often.

I wish I could give Olesya's 6 stars! I was fortunate to see their stand at the Columbus Farmer's Market. I've had Olesya's on my list of restaurants to visit in Columbus. I jumped at the chance to try some of their Ukrainian street food at the Market. The young clerk was friendly and recommended that I try the pork filled pastry called cheburekie. I also grabbed a container of their cabbage salad because it looked refreshing. Let me tell you, the cheburecki was incredible. The crusty outside melted in my mouth and the pork filling was juicy and flavorful. The salad was a blend of vegetables with a dill dressing. The food was amazingly good. They take cards! Expect a little line. I can't wait to go back and try other items.

The food! Wow! So flavorful. Cabbage cucumber salad- crisp, fresh, tangy. The Ukrainian National Clay Pot meal was the most comforting meal I've had in ages. Cooked to perfection with fork tender pork and soft potatoes with a delicious broth. I'd come back again and bring friends. Definitely with an hour drive. Chef's kiss! The service was exceptional and welcoming.

My gosh! The food was the best food I have ever gotten from a restaurant! The beef stroganoff and the traditional clay pot were tonight's meals ordered, and seriously remarkable! I ordered to go but they had it ready quickly and packaged wonderfully. I can't recommend this place enough. I wasted so much time not eating here. I'm going to try and make up for time lost now!

I drove over an hour to try Olesya's and it was worth it. The food was incredible. I can't wait to come back and try some more.

Food was very good. Fresh ingredients and homemade. I had a lunch special, but the menu is diverse and I hope to try other dishes soon.
