I retained legal counsel expecting professional representation, accurate case handling, and strict…read moreattention to confidentiality standards. During my inquiry, I became aware that I was being referred to internally as "the lifeguard." That label was inaccurate and did not reflect the full scope of my role, responsibilities, or medical circumstances. While this may seem minor on the surface, terminology matters in legal work. How a client is described internally influences how a case is understood, prioritized, and communicated. More importantly, this raised concerns for me about internal communication discipline and privacy culture. Clients trust law firms to handle sensitive information carefully and professionally. Casual shorthand or oversimplified identifiers undermine that trust. I am not alleging malicious intent. However, I am stating clearly that this experience did not meet the professional standard I expected when retaining legal representation. If Miller Law wants to maintain a strong reputation, I encourage them to review internal case labeling practices, staff communication protocols, and confidentiality training to ensure clients are represented accurately and respectfully at all times. Legal advocacy is built on trust. That trust depends on professionalism, not shortcuts or nicknames.

I initially had a positive experience with Hooten and Chen LLP. Communication with Mr. Chen started…read morestrong and there was early momentum. My case involved long-term exposure issues tied to a workers' compensation matter, so I understood the added complexity and the need for careful handling. Over time, however, progress stalled. While I was repeatedly asked whether I was willing to move forward and sign, I was never actually provided with documents or a concrete opportunity to do so. I made it clear I was prepared to proceed, yet meaningful action and filings never materialized. Instead, communication became fragmented and slow. After nearly two years, I was referred out to another firm due to overlapping employment termination issues. Unfortunately, that referral resulted in being effectively dropped by both parties, leaving me without representation and forced to navigate the process independently. Since then, I have undergone surgery and am currently in recovery while pursuing specialized aquatic rehabilitation therapy, all of which I coordinated myself. At this point, the outcome of my medical recovery and claim progress has come from my own persistence rather than legal advocacy. While I understand the risks involved in challenging large employers, clients deserve transparency, follow-through, and continuity of representation. My experience felt more like being delayed and passed along than actively supported. If you choose to work with this firm, I strongly recommend securing written timelines, clear deliverables, and documented next steps from the beginning.

I was referred to this firm specifically to assume representation for both my workers' compensation…read moreclaim and my employment termination matter. The referral was presented as a coordinated transfer to a larger firm capable of handling overlapping injury and employment law issues. This was not a general inquiry, it was intended to be a formal case handoff. When I contacted the office, staff appeared unfamiliar with my case and unaware of any referral communication. I was treated as a new cold inquiry rather than a client whose matter was being transferred. There was no evidence that case materials had been reviewed or that any attorney-to-attorney coordination had occurred prior to my outreach. The intake interaction was rushed and dismissive, with no meaningful attempt to gather background details or establish continuity of representation. Given the complexity and seriousness of combined workers' compensation and termination matters, this lack of preparation and professionalism was concerning. Being terminated while actively managing a workplace injury places clients in a particularly vulnerable position. In that context, proper referral handling and internal communication are essential. My experience reflected a breakdown in both. I would strongly advise prospective clients to confirm in writing that referrals are formally accepted, files are transferred, and case reviews have occurred before relying on this firm for representation.
