My daughters engagement ring was purchased here. My now SIL paid for the diamond and chose the…read moresetting. Stephanie said she would let them know when the ring was in with no mention of an additional deposit. I mean they had their diamond which had been paid for as collateral for the setting so when SIL asked if he needed to pay and was told no he didn't question it. A few weeks went by and they received a call from Stephanie asking if they wanted her to proceed with having the diamond set and if so they would need to run by and pay for the setting in full. Ok, no biggie but this was not what was originally stated. The ring gets here and it's beautiful. They then chose the guards to go on each side of the engagement ring and had to send one back since it was shaped incorrectly and didn't fit the ring. Again, things happen. Fast forward, my daughter decided to have the rings welded together to make it easier to wear. The bands were not lined up properly which caused the ring to be tighter than was comfortable. Also, the welding was shoddy and they welded over the engraving which wasn't mentioned when they were discussing (sorry but I think this should've been brought up as a possibility). Then, my daughter noticed a diamond missing from one of the bands. This happened the day after she picked up from Elkin Jewelers (she thinMy daughter then decided to take the ring to another company and the jeweler there asked who did the welding (I'm saying welding for lack of correct term). He confirmed the welding had not been done this correctly by being run across all three bands that instead it should've been between each band. They are now correcting all of the little errors to make the ring wearable (comfortably) as well as replacing the lost diamond. Also, they are replacing the engraving so hopefully my daughter will love her ring again. The cost to correct the mistakes will be $355. As we have dealt with Pat and Stephanie at Elkin Jewelers before, I expected better.

On my first visit, I didnt buy anything and was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't any pressure from the staff to make a purchase. They kindly thanked me for the visit. There are two buildings- one in the back and the main building in the front. Both are worth stopping into. There's a nice variety of furniture, antiques, memorabilia, and gift items. I purchased a cast iron frog door stop and some dried flowers on my last visit. Also, we found a cast iron pan (grizwald) that was fairly priced and that my wife was stoked out of her mind about. A big pro is that they have a clean and cute single stall bathroom. On a road trip, we all know that is clutch. This spot is definitely a hidden gem. I'd definitely recommend popping in!

The front of the building had various vendors set up selling items as part of the 100 mile yard sale. We knew Preston's did a lot with wood but did not know much about the antique part of their business. After visiting we know they primarily work with wood pieces and the antique part is small. They do have some very nice live edge slabs, cookies and make some really nice furniture with them. They even had an adjustable work desk built out of a live edge slab. They do some work with epoxy resin as well. Their prices seemed reasonable and we were able to talk to both Preston and his partner who were very friendly and helpful. Great spot if you are looking for live edge type furniture. We are confident they can also do custom pieces as well.

Four foot Pine started at $10 and we got a 7ft piece of maple for $65. Anywhere else you'd pay double or triple. There are also some great antiques inside the shop. Everyone in the shop is friendly. The home of Foothills Arts Council is a lovely historic house on Church Street. Even the outside of the house displays lovely colorful art in the form of a metal sculpture of a huge yellow daffodil on the front lawn and whimsical painted window shutters. What a great value! Best of all the proceeds benefit Hospice. I'm excited to be able to support such a worthy organization as opposed to someone who lives in a multi million dollar mansion. The lady working there was extremely helpful. I learned that they will also come to your home to pick up furniture donations. Before donating you should call or pick up a list of items they accept and ones they do not I highly recommend this business and look forward to returning.
